Chapter 3805: The Immense Wild Peak
Chapter 3805: The Immense Wild Peak
Lin Mu found himself surprised as a colossal mountain range stretched across the horizon. Its size dwarfed everything around it and countless mountains rose from the earth like gigantic stone spears.
Some reached several thousand meters but others climbed far higher. Yet all of them seemed insignificant compared to the mountain standing at the center. The central peak towered above everything.
Its summit pierced the clouds and its base stretched across an enormous area. Lin Mu estimated its height exceeded twenty thousand meters and the sheer scale made it resemble a natural world pillar.
It dominated the landscape completely.
Little Bull stared with wide eyes. "Big."
The giant nodded proudly. "Very big."
The closer they approached, the more details became visible. Dense forests covered the mountains, ancient trees rose toward the sky and many of them stood nearly a kilometer tall.
Their trunks resembled towers and while some appeared thirty meters wide, others exceeded seventy. Several combined would have been large enough to house entire villages within their hollow interiors.
The forests felt ancient, untamed and utterly alive as beast cries echoed constantly. Roars, screeches, howls and growls all blended together into a chaotic symphony.
Lin Mu soon noticed movement throughout the forests.
"Beasts?" He muttered, finding them everywhere.
Massive bears fought atop cliffs, winged predators hunted through the skies and pack beasts moved beneath the trees while giant insects crawled along enormous branches. Unlike other sect territories where beasts were heavily controlled, these creatures seemed free.
Many were actively fighting and several areas contained obvious battle scars like broken trees, collapsed cliffs and even large craters that seemed to be freshly made. The entire mountain range felt less like a sect and more like a wilderness.
A wilderness that happened to contain disciples.
Then Lin Mu noticed the second most impressive feature, a lake.
It was an enormous lake but it wasn’t on the ground. It rested atop a neighboring mountain where the mountain’s summit contained a gigantic natural depression filled entirely with water.
The lake stretched for several kilometers and its surface reflected the setting sun. Golden light shimmered across gentle waves making the sight appear almost unreal.
Above the lake stood a large palace complex.
Unlike the elegant architecture found throughout the rest of the sect, this place possessed a rougher style. There were massive wooden pillars made from Immortal Grade Wood along with heavy stone foundations inlaid with formations to improve its durability.
Large open halls could be seen everywhere along with wide courtyards and all the buildings appeared sturdy rather than beautiful. Several bridges crossed portions of the lake while huge beast skeletons decorated certain rooftops.
Immense training grounds could also be seen occupying various sections while large smoke plumes rose from different areas. All in all, the entire place radiated a sense of primal strength.
Little Bull pointed. "What’s that?"
The giant smiled proudly. "That’s Wild Peak."
The young man looked confused. "Which part?"
The giant laughed. "All of it."
Little Bull blinked. "All of it?"
"Every mountain." The giant spread his arms. "The forests, the lakes, the valleys, the caves, the beasts, the rivers and the training grounds."
"It all belongs to Wild Peak."
Lin Mu secretly calculated the area and the numbers became increasingly absurd. This wasn’t a peak, this was practically a kingdom.
The giant continued speaking proudly. "Other peaks have courtyards, we have mountains."
"Other peaks have training grounds, we have entire forests."
"Other peaks raise a few spirit and immortal beasts, we let thousands roam freely."
The closer they came, the more disciples became visible. Many trained openly, some wrestled giant beasts while others carried enormous boulders. Several even appeared to be punching waterfalls for some reason.
One disciple was apparently running while carrying a tree larger than most buildings and another was dragging something that looked suspiciously like an immobilized Flood dragon.
Little Bull stared as the giant grinned. "Beautiful, isn’t it?"
For the first time since arriving at the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect, Lin Mu genuinely felt that he had found a place unlike any other. Wild Peak did not resemble a traditional cultivation peak.
It resembled a world unto itself.
A chaotic, powerful, unruly world where strength mattered more than appearances and where rules seemed considerably more flexible than anywhere else in the sect.
And as High Elder Shatter Peak proudly carried him toward the enormous mountain range, Lin Mu found himself increasingly convinced that choosing Wild Peak had been the correct decision.
A few moments later, High Elder Shatter Peak landed in the middle of the mountain with all the subtlety of a falling meteor.
The moment his feet touched the ground, a thunderous boom echoed through the surroundings. Dust exploded outward and the courtyard beneath them cracked in dozens of places. Stone slabs shattered and Jagged fractures raced across the ground like branching rivers.
Little Bull instinctively stepped back and the giant elder merely scratched his chin. "Oops."
Lin Mu secretly doubted that the man felt even the slightest remorse.
The courtyard they had landed in belonged to a large complex built into the mountainside. Several dozen structures stretched across terraces carved into the mountain itself. Some resembled large halls while others appeared more like fortresses.
The largest among them rose over ten stories high and possessed thick stone walls that looked capable of withstanding direct attacks from immortal beasts. Yet despite their size, the buildings seemed surprisingly small compared to their surroundings.
The forest completely dwarfed them.
Massive trees towered overhead like pillars supporting the heavens. Their canopies stretched so wide that they formed a natural roof over much of the mountain. From above, the buildings would be almost impossible to spot.
Lin Mu had flown over the area earlier and now understood why. The architects had not forced nature aside to build Wild Peak. Instead, they had built Wild Peak around nature like the architecture Lin Mu had seen on Jui world.
The structures seemed woven into the mountain and forests rather than imposed upon them. As Lin Mu observed the shattered courtyard, something else caught his attention, the cracks were healing.
At first the damage remained unchanged, then faint golden lines appeared beneath the stone and the fractured slabs shifted. Broken rock slowly moved back into place as dust was drawn downward and tiny streams of earth essence emerged from below.
