Chapter 713: The Fate Dragon Race
Chapter 713: The Fate Dragon Race
In the end, Rael was gonna step in a pile of shit either way, so he might as well get this pile of shit over and done with.
“So, Asper. I know I might be asking for a lot, but I still need your acknowledgement. I don’t mean it in bad faith either. Let’s do something nice, maybe an arm wrestling contest, or perhaps some blackjack?”
Asper’s expression soured.
“I have a daughter to get back to. Cease your foolishness and go back to your tribe, Fate Dragon.”
Rael let out a sigh.
“Come on, can’t you just say, ’I acknowledge you?’ I need to reach Tier 5 in my dragon heart.”
A look of understanding appeared on Asper’s face.
But deep down, it still seemed like he was unwilling to break any of the rules.
“I apologize. You may be stronger than me, but I do have my integrity. Why not try the Nature Dragons? If you satisfy one of them, they might just give you the acknowledgement you seek.”
“I have enough morals to not look for prostitutes,” Rael deadpanned. “Also, I’m asking this as a formality, not that I really give a shit. I don’t want to hurt you or the other Rock Dragons, but if you don’t give me the acknowledgement I need, then—”
<Ding!>
<The Fate Dragon King has noticed your presence!>
<The Fate Dragon King has reprimanded your actions!>
<The Fate Dragon King is summoning you back to the tribe…>
While Rael was confused about just what was going on, an arrow suddenly appeared above him.
When he finished reading what the messages were, he let out a sigh of exhaustion.
Like his life wasn’t hard already, he had to deal with this now…
“Never mind.” Rael smiled at Asper. “Good luck and flourish well or whatever. I’m going to visit the Fate Dragon tribe.”
Asper narrowed his eyes slightly.
“You weren’t the only one who was summoned.”
Ah.
“Aren’t you a Dragon King too, though? Can’t you just decline his summons?”
Asper looked at him as though Rael was a total idiot.
After all, Asper was still on the weekend, and someone like the Fate Dragon King was definitely a powerful dragon, so it was natural to assume he could just command the lower-grade tribes as though they were his puppets.
“Welp. I guess we’re companions now.”
With those words, Rael waved at Asper and slowly began making his way ahead while following the massive arrow overhead.
Since Asper couldn’t just leave his place that easily, he first had to calm his tribe and visit his daughter or whatever.
Only then would he be able to answer the Fate Dragon’s summons.
Rael guessed that they would have a separate conversation, but as for Rael and the Fate Dragon King… yeah. The conversation was going to be rough.
[You bet. He’s gonna give you an earful amongst many other things. Basically, getting acknowledged now will be as hard as spending one hour with your child,] Burger chimed in.
Rael was speechless at Burger’s analogy.
This time, he would actually spend time with Uriel.
Because after all, if Uriel was sharing stats with Rael, then Uriel’s potential was unmatched, and having a second Rael on the battlefield was the best outcome.
Of course, that was in the worst-case scenario.
He didn’t intend to send Uriel into the battlefield, but instead, he wanted Uriel to have some self-defense knowledge.
Although he hoped Vatyra and Anastasia would take care of it, he was pretty sure they might just cause a big mess instead.
Nonetheless, Rael called Burger a bitch and moved on while following the arrow.
After just a few minutes of travel and crossing several biomes, including nearly two jungles, he finally saw the outline of jagged golden mountains ahead of him.
They weren’t as tall or vast as the Rock Dragon tribe’s, but they were far more splendorous and obviously much fancier.
Added to that, before even stepping foot into the mountain range, Rael noticed several colossal golden dragons flying around.
Some of them seemed on the younger side too, and yet the weakest one was Grade 7.
To think a mere baby dragon was stronger than the Dragon King of another tribe… The pecking order here must really be something else.
No wonder Asper got summoned like he was someone’s lapdog.
Rael approached the mountain range and soon caught the attention of the nearby Fate Dragons flying around.
Some of them stopped to look at him, and as if they realized he wasn’t actually from their tribe, they snarled in disgust and continued flying around the golden mountains.
Yet there were a few who seemed interested in him, and so they flew down to Rael’s level and acted as though they weren’t interested, even while circling around him from a distance.
Of course, these were mainly the baby dragons who likely didn’t know much about the world.
Still, Rael continued moving on ahead until eventually, he saw a pathway near the base of the golden mountains, which was guarded by a few humanoid Fate Dragons.
Figuring that it was the way in, Rael flew down, landed on the ground, and then approached the entrance.
The gazes of the humanoid Fate Dragons landed on him.
He ignored them and tried to enter.
However, right as he was about to pass them, the humanoid Fate Dragons pulled thin rapiers out of their inventories and aimed them right at Rael’s throat.
“Stop.”
Rael felt a force suddenly slam down onto his body.
It was the Draconic Tongue that Burger had mentioned last time and told Rael to learn.
Of course, Rael had kind of slacked on it and forgotten.
But even so, just this much pressure alone was nothing.
Rael raised his arms and touched the tips of the rapiers that were at his throat.
In the next instant, the rapiers shattered, falling like glass to the ground.
The humanoid Fate Dragons recoiled in surprise.
But Rael simply raised his hands as if in defeat.
“I didn’t come here to fight. I was summoned by your king.”
