Chapter 4817: The Enemy Unseen V
Chapter 4817: The Enemy Unseen V
In Observable Existence, there is an emotion called terror.
Many beings believe across their lives that they have experienced it, that they have truly known what it means to feel fear press against their foundations and make their very Ways tremble with the weight of what they are perceiving.
They believe this because they have faced enemies stronger than themselves, because they have stared into the eyes of those who could collapse them with a thought, because they have stood at the edge of oblivion and felt the void reaching back toward them with hungry intent.
But truly, nobody has felt true fear.
True fear is not the recognition that something can destroy you, because destruction is merely an ending, a transition from existence to non-existence that carries a certain finality that the mind can comprehend and accept.
True fear is the recognition that something can replace you.
That something can wear your face and speak with your voice and utilize your Way and live your life while you are gone in ways that no one will ever notice.
That the you that you have spent your entire existence building and protecting and nurturing can simply... cease, while something else continues in your place as if nothing has changed at all.
The Absolutes who have existed since The Infinite Unfurling whisper among themselves about enemies that kill, about threats that collapse, about dangers that end.
But they do not speak of the enemy that replaces!
---
The first thing that Noah did after receiving such disastrous information from THE Primordial Chaos was not to panic.
Panic was for those who had no options.
Panic was for those who could not act.
He had options. He could act. And so instead of surrendering to fear, he began looking at other possibilities right away as to what the enemy that THE Primordial Chaos was talking about could be.
His thoughts instantly shifted to THE Great Usurper.
Eckert.
The very same friend who had been scattered across Transcendent Spirit Folds after being destroyed by Duke Veil-Render.
The being who had been slowly spreading across folds like a virus that turned destruction into opportunity.
If anyone could spread invisibly and replace beings without detection...
If anyone had the capability to infect civilizations from within...
With this Existence being connected to him through threads of fate and Mana that transcended normal distance, Noah erupted with all his might!
His twenty-seven Seals buzzed with terrifying brilliance!
He pulled upon his Derivative Civilization of Undifferentiated Fate, stopping any other processes he held to focus solely on one target!
Eckert!
BOOM!
THE Primordial Chaos had stopped speaking as he sensed this light variation of Weavings in Noah’s gaze after his words.
His shifting features settled into something curious as he asked with weight that expected answers.
"Youngest, do you know something?"
Noah’s eyes blazed with blue-gold intensity as threads of fate stretched across impossible distances, seeking connections that would confirm or deny his suspicions.
"I am checking on something. Just hold on one second."
His voice came stern and focused.
Very soon, detailed prompts bloomed in front of Noah’s eyes with information that made his foundations pulse with recognition.
THE Weaver of Existence pulls upon one of his deepest connections across Observable Existence.
THE Great Usurper, Eckert, has been observed to be slowly spreading threads of his existence across The Wastes of THE Fallout.
No threads of his existence can be sensed elsewhere.
His expansion remains contained within the corrupted regions where he was scattered.
No infiltration of Primordial Realms detected.
No connection to the infection spreading through THE Primordial Chaos’s domain has been established.
BOOM!
The prompts were horrendous ones to hear!
It wasn’t Eckert.
Which meant the enemy was something else entirely.
Noah’s gaze further shifted, and he spent even more of his terrifying Immensity and foundation to focus on the connection with Eckert, utilizing and allowing the expenditure of every ounce of weight and Immensity of his existence as he sent a message across the corrupted Weavings of Observable Existence!
Hey, are you okay? Have you moved from The Wastes of THE Fallout to any Primordial Realms? Do you know anything of the movements of THE Primordial Chaos?
...!
He sent such words as a message across corrupted Weavings of Existence, something that should have been impossible before, but now with his Derivative Civilization of Undifferentiated Fate threading connections across Observable Existence...
Woah, big guy! You’re alive? Of course you would be. Primordial Realms? What are those? I’ve just acclimated to fusing with a fragment of an Axiom...
BOOM!
"..."
Noah breathed heavily.
It wasn’t Eckert.
It wasn’t Eckert.
THE Great Usurper was still contained within The Wastes, still spreading slowly, still unaware of even what Primordial Realms were.
Which meant the invisible enemy spreading through Jotunheim, the infection replacing beings across THE Primordial Chaos’s domain, the threat that made one of THE Four speak with caution and concern...
Was something else entirely.
Or someone else.
Noah’s expression became heavy.
In front of him, THE Primordial Chaos squinted and began to rise with caution that seemed entirely out of place for an entity of his power.
"Youngest..."
His shifting features flickered with something that looked almost like alarm.
"You wouldn’t have happened to already come across THE Secretive Eon, right?"
...!
The musings of Chaos began to rumble and seethe around THE Primordial Chaos!
Shockingly, he moved back from Noah even though Noah was merely an illusory body, as if he was being overly cautious that in the case Noah had already met THE Secretive Eon, he may already be compromised!
The crystalline trees of Alfheimr trembled as reality itself responded to the caution of one of THE Four!
Noah looked at THE Primordial Chaos.
What monstrosity was moving in the undercurrents of Observable Existence to make one of THE Four this cautious?
What enemy could spread invisibly through the domain of an Absolute without being detected until half of everything was already lost?
What threat could make THE Primordial Chaos, a being who had built foundations that let him stand among THE Four, retreat from even an illusory projection out of caution of contamination?
And if Noah truly was staring at the culprit at this very moment while being less than a mile away from her...
He needed to move.
And to move quickly!
Anything an Absolute like THE Primordial Chaos was cautious of...
What could it do against him?!
