Death… And Me

Chapter 4237: Airplane

Chapter 4237: Airplane

Rean talked to Flutio for a few hours, both sides speaking of their own Great Voids. There wasn’t much of a difference between them, though. Both Great Voids had their cultivation systems, races, and peculiarities.

However, Rean did find something. Flutio’s Great Void, Jarrel, was controlled by a single entity, the Vobbi Organization. After further inquiry, he found that this organization had taken control of their Echo and used it to keep the entire Great Void in line.

"Is it a normal thing for the Great Voids to be controlled by someone?" Rean couldn’t help but ask.

"Not really," which Flutio explained. "It just so happens my one is. You see, I’m a new ascender, just like you, so I don’t know much about the Celestial Plane. However, the Vobbi Organization does share some information about the Celestial Plane for us to check before ascending."

"If what they showed isn’t a lie, you will see no more than a single Great Void being controlled every hundred thousand of them or so. You said that in your Great Void, the power to control it was called The Echo, right? In my Great Void, the Vobbi Organization calls it Creation Energy."

"Anyway, it doesn’t have anything to do with me. I ascended on my own, without relying on the Vobbi Organization. I’m actually very, very far from where my Vobbi Organization can be found in the Celestial Plane."

"I see..." Rean nodded. "It is pretty similar to us, then. In our Universe, there is an Organization called the Werdlem Empire. They also have their foothold in the Celestial Plane, but it is somewhere else, not here. They got very close to controlling The Echo, but ended up failing, and now no one controls it. My companions and I ascended from a location very far away from where you can find the Werdlem Empire."

Flutio smiled after hearing that. "It’s pretty similar indeed. I’ve never heard about this Werdlem Empire, but then again, from what I know, if a power doesn’t have its own Great Void under control, they most likely won’t get to achieve much in the Celestial Plane."

Flutio then approached Rean, whispering in his ear. "Truth be told, I wasn’t supposed to ascend from somewhere else. In my Great Void, everyone is required to ascend from the same location so they will arrive in the territory of the Vobbi Organization here in the Celestial Plane. I went against that by ascending somewhere else and ending up here. If I go back now, things will be pretty bad for me."

Rean faintly smiled. "Simply put, you have no intention of going back there ever again, am I right?"

"Hahaha!" Flutio laughed. "Indeed, I have no intention whatsoever! I was already an old monster back down there. Any family I had has already passed away, or branched out so far and thin that I barely recognize them at all. I just didn’t have anyone else to look out for anymore, so I don’t mind if I never go back."

Rean wondered if it was truly just a coincidence that he happened to meet someone from a Great Void where The Echo was controlled, or the Creation Energy in Flutio’s case. But then again, the previous system is gone. He couldn’t attribute it to the Destiny Attraction anymore. Yes, Sister Orb was now the new system, but she also was, at least initially, a much worse version of it.

"It’s surprising there are so few Great Voids that have their Echo, or Creation Energy, under someone’s control," Rean commented.

"Indeed," and Flutio agreed. "Still, what is necessary for someone to control their Echo? Or Creation Energy? Or whatever they are called in their own Great Voids? I can tell that the Vobbi Organization has never made this information public in my Great Void, that’s for sure."

Suddenly, another door behind their room opened, and a cultivator with a similar attire to Clanda entered. "Eleven, uh? Clanda did quite a good job this time." He then checked his own RC, narrowing his eyes when he checked the twins’ group’s information. "Or maybe not..."

He decided to ignore that, turning his attention to the people there. "Anyway, I’m Werkitt, and I’ll be the one to bring you to Wangamiglia Sect. Our airplane is right outside, so come with me."

Rean and Flutio looked at each other. "Airplane?"

Everyone walked outside, and sure enough, there was an airplane there. It wasn’t much different from the ones Rean saw back on Earth, actually. It’s just that it operated on Celestial Energy and Array Runes instead of fossil fuels.

Turns out that the backyard of the New Arrival Hub was a private airport with several lanes for Airplanes. Because there were no combustion engines, they were also very, very silent. Thus, they didn’t hear when it arrived.

One of the new ascenders, a Demon Beast called Lethaz, immediately asked what was on everyone’s minds. "Why an airplane? Wouldn’t it be better to use a Teleport Array or have someone fetch us with a Spatial Gate?"

Werkitt looked at them, a smile on his face. "Sure. As long as you have the Celestial Stones to pay for any of those, feel free to pass them to me, and I will arrange for us to use a Teleport Array. As for having someone use a Spatial Gate... Well, there are only two experts in the entire Besgol Region who can use those, so I don’t think you have enough Celestial Stones to make one of them come and open a Spatial Gate just for you guys."

Everyone was taken aback. Only two? Most ascenders spent most of their years able to open Spatial Gates back in their Great Voids. To hear that only two could use it was quite a shock. In that case, just how long will it take for the new ascenders, including the twins’ group, to be able to do it again? Hell, they can’t even use a simple Teleport Array!

Werkitt made his way to the airplane, speaking to the ascenders behind. "Come inside. We will take a few days to arrive in Wangamiglia Sect. It will also be a good opportunity for you guys to understand the environment we find ourselves in."
