Chapter 3822: Using the Quasar
Chapter 3822: Using the Quasar
One might be wondering, how could Rean survive inside the Quasar, something even the Divinity Realm Expers didn’t dare to get close to? Well, the main reason was definitely his Light Element.
It doesn’t mean the Quasar is made of Light Element. It is mostly just energy, but above all, that energy was toxic to one’s body. So, the closer you got, the harder it was to fend it off... except to Rean, who could simply use his Purification Skill to get rid of all the radiation poisoning in his body before it could affect his cells and DNA.
As for the unbelievably high temperature, that was actually easier to deal with. Rean was the epitome of Yang Energy, and he could control it around himself to fend off or resist the heat. Of course, it was still a challenging task to accomplish. Fortunately, Rean also had his Celestial Body, which was even more resistant than when he used the Starlight Body Cultivation Technique.
When you put all those perks together, Rean had the perfect measures to survive inside a Quasar. Don’t get it wrong, though. Quasars are extremely powerful. It’s just that Rean was outside the Galaxy, where the corrupt system existed and the Quasar originated.
The massive blackhole, which was the origin of that quasar, was at the very center of that galaxy. Judging by the Light reaching his body, Rean knew the origin of the Quasar was over a hundred thousand light-years away. So, it grew weak enough by the time it got here.
Rean concentrated and got used to fending off the quasar’s power, turning in the direction where all that energy was coming from. ’I guess I can move now. Sister Orb, it is guaranteed, right?’
[Stop being annoying,] Sister Orb complained. [There is definitely an opening, so just go for it.]
The entire galaxy was protected by the protection formation, but that wouldn’t work with the Quasar. Thus, the quasar itself wasn’t barred by the protection formation. It had an opening just big enough for the Quasar to pass through. Usually, that wouldn’t be a problem, as no one would think about entering the Galaxy through that opening.
Little by little, Rean’s speed increased as he travelled inside the Quasar, following its origin inside the Galaxy. He was still quite far away from the protection formation itself, and it would take him at least three years to move all the way to the barrier at that speed.
Rean didn’t care, though. If he got tired, he could simply enter the Dimensional Realm, recover, and then come out and make his way again. It’s just that he was the only one doing that. Kentucky, Celis, and Roan would not do that as they couldn’t control the Yang Energy and Light Element perfectly enough. Well, Roan and Kentucky likely could do it, but they wouldn’t move as fast as Rean, so it was better not to try.
There was good news, though. Rean’s speed increased more and more as he got used to the Quasar’s energy. So the initial three years were cut in half, and Rean got there after a year and a half. It goes without saying that the moment he passed by the area where the protection formation was located, he reduced his speed and paid close attention. Who could tell if there really wasn’t some countermeasure to what he was doing? Better safe than sorry.
Fortunately, Sister Orb watched over and was able to confirm that Rean had entered the Galaxy. But, at the same time, she warned him. [There are layers and more layers of formations the deeper you go, and the only safe area is the Quasar. If you go out, it will be very hard to avoid detection.]
Foliana narrowed her eyes. ’This won’t work, right? Rean said the origin of the Quasar is over a hundred thousand light-years away. He is clearly not moving at light speed either, not even 1% of it, actually. How long would it take to get to the center? Hundreds of millions of years? Maybe Billions?’
Rean faintly smiled. Of course, he already considered that problem. ’Don’t worry. The main problem wasn’t really the physical barrier protecting the galaxy. Instead, it was the Spatial Protection.’
’Ah!’ Foliana immediately remembered. ’That’s right! You can now avoid the seals behind the fabric of space and connect to different places. You can use Spatial Gates!’
Rean nodded and continued to move forward. He was going to open a Spatial Gate, but not here. He wanted to do it further inside so the Spatial protection around the Galaxy wouldn’t have a chance to intervene.
’Two years,’ Roan commented. ’Keep going forward for another two years. By then, everyone will have forgotten Xanfel, and the chances of being caught will be lower.’
’I thought so too,’ Rean agreed.
Rean continued with his initial plan. He moved forward as quickly as he could, then entered the Dimensional Realm to replenish his energy and heal before returning outside. He looked quite miserable every time he entered the Dimensinal Realm, but in a matter of seconds, he recovered with his skill, so it was as if he didn’t suffer any damage at all.
Finally, two years later, Rean moved far enough from the Spatial Protection. He stopped in the middle of the Quasar, made a cutting motion with his hand, and a crack in space appeared.
*Uuuuwwwwwuuuuu!!!*
Sure enough, the moment it appeared, the Umbras started to rush out. Unfortunately for them, the entire environment was rich in destructive Yang Energy. Not a single one survived more than a second before being obliterated by the Quasar.
Rean ignored them and pushed through the Umbras, his Light Element fending off all of them. Soon, he entered the Spatial Tunnel he created. He knew how far the Quasar origin was, so he calculated the length of the Spatial Gate, connecting to the area near it.
Of course, he wasn’t an idiot. Such a long distance was hard to nail perfectly. It would be ridiculous if his Spatial Gate suddenly opened right by the Massive Blackhole’s side. So, Rean played safely, opening a Spatial Gate that would be far enough from the black hole but not so far that he couldn’t fly there if he wanted.
*Crack, crack, crack...*
Finally, another Spatial Gate appeared, and Rean came out.
