Chapter 681 - 14: Laws of Spatial Knowledge
Chapter 681: Chapter 14: Laws of Spatial Knowledge
Lynch gathered his strength and humbly asked, “Master, please guide me. I feel their mutual repulsion, yet they must be unified, making it difficult to grasp the balance within.”
“Balance?” Gulwige slightly shook his head, extending a finger from which a faint light emerged at the tip, quickly stretching into a constantly twisting, flickering silver thread. “Look at it, what do you perceive it to be?”
“A… conduit of spatial energy?” Lynch cautiously answered.
“It is, and it isn’t.” Gulwige’s fingers moved slightly, and that thread split momentarily into thousands of even finer threads. They twisted and collided, yet maintained their shape in a strangely cohesive manner.
“It is both a passage for energy and a part of the spatial structure itself. The repulsion you perceive is not that they are unwilling to coexist, but that the ’spatial folds’ they inhabit are breathing, fluctuating. You try to forcibly fix them at what you perceive as the ’correct’ position, ignoring that they naturally adjust with the ’breath’ of space.”
He glanced at the enormous ring apparatus, his tone distant: “The sages of Acadia didn’t forcibly ’construct’ passages but rather acted more like master musicians, perceiving the inherent ’melodies’ between different planes, then gently… ’resonating’, ’guiding’ them, allowing the passage to form naturally. What we do is merely imitate this resonance and stabilize it.”
“The… melody of space?” Lynch mused, looking once more at those complex runes, attempting to perceive not just their cold energy structures but also the minuscule, tidal-like fluctuations within and around them.
“Remember, Lynch.” Gulwige’s voice was deep and penetrating, “The most robust spatial structures are often not those forcefully constrained, but those that achieve some dynamic balance themselves. Like the orbiting of stars.”
“Seemingly eternal and unchangeable, yet constantly maintaining a delicate equilibrium amidst great forces. Learn to perceive this balance and integrate with it, not conquer it.”
Saying this, he pointed again to another seemingly calm cluster of runes. Instantly, the space in that region rippled like water, revealing a multitude of finer, more vibrant energy veins pulsing underneath the stable runes—kept in a precarious harmony by mutual restraint.
“See, the balance here is extremely fragile, like dancing on a spider’s thread. The power you need is not to overpower but to provide the smallest support, or guidance, just as it begins to tip toward imbalance,” Gulwige said while demonstrating how to subtly guide the tempestuous streams of energy to tranquility with minimal power.
Lynch held his breath, concentrating fiercely to perceive and memorize every move of Gulwige, every technique in the application of power. He realized this was more than knowledge; it was a near-instinctive, profound understanding and artistic use of spatial rules.
“I seem to… understand a bit.” Lynch closed his eyes, extending his fingers once more. The silver-gray glow reappeared, but this time, the light was more restrained, gentler, as if merging into the surrounding spatial background fluctuations. He attempted to mimic Gulwige’s technique, to touch and guide a rune structure that had previously been particularly troublesome to him.
This time, the sense of repulsion remained, but he no longer tried to combat it. Instead, he lightly brushed along its ’rhythm’ as if smoothing wrinkles on silk.
Buzz——
A previously flickering rune quietly stabilized, seamlessly embedding into the overall structure as if it had always belonged there.
Though it was just a minor step, it brought Lynch a flash of clarity.
Gulwige watched this unfold, a fleeting hint of surprise in his eyes, replaced swiftly by a gratified smile.
“Very good… Your insight exceeds my expectations. It seems that restoring the wisdom of the ancients is not an unreachable task.”
Lynch spread his five fingers, feeling the spatial energy dancing between them.
In that moment, he sensed a new comprehension of the Space Law.
At the same time, the system’s notification sounded timely in his ear.

The intersection with Gulwige initially only involved interpreting those ancient Space System knowledge from the Underground City, but as their interaction deepened, Gulwige began teaching Lynch some space knowledge.
Especially recently, Gulwige was practically a teacher, dissecting and explaining layers from the superficial to the profound, allowing him to fully understand the rules of space.
Primarily, this was to interpret the literature of the Underground City!
Since Lynch’s arrival in Fran, the excavation of the Underground City has officially commenced.
From Magic Stones, various Magic Materials, manpower, they spared no effort in investing downward, even sending many of Domain Level existences, with Dean Abbas personally overseeing the region.
Having already established an excellent framework for excavating the Underground City in Jade Land, now with Fran’s unrestrained investment, the excavation efficiency elevated to a new dimension.
Countless low-level Underground Cities were unearthed, Wizard Level and Mystical Level discoveries were abundant, and even Domain Level ones began to be mined in succession.
The knowledge and literature within the Domain Level had far exceeded Lynch’s scope of interpretation.
Not that he couldn’t decode them, but rather his current power was insufficient, with a lack of foundational knowledge in these literatures. Even with the system’s forced interpretation, he couldn’t grasp their meanings.
The system could only help him understand content he could essentially comprehend; for content completely beyond his understanding, it was naturally helpless.
Thus,
This is when the elevation of foundational knowledge became necessary, that is—
Space Law!
Only after advancing in the comprehension of the Space Law can he understand the content above, and only then can he utilize the system to recombine these fragmented pieces of knowledge into a complete chain of spatial knowledge.
Glancing at the system panel’s data, Lynch withdrew his fingers, expressing gratitude to Gulwige, “Thank you for your explanation.”
Never underestimate this small piece of content!
In the path of Domains, among the cultivation subjects of Spirit, soul, and knowledge, the law of knowledge is absolutely the most challenging, with no shortcuts, only relying on personal enlightenment.
And this enlightenment… is quite mysterious; understanding means understanding, and without it, no amount of effort makes a difference.
Just the small section that Gulwige explained to him; if he were left to ponder and comprehend it independently, it would take an unknown amount of time.
Many Domain Wizards ultimately fail to reach the level of Laws, largely due to the law of knowledge.
