Chapter 369 - 6: Development

Chapter 369: Chapter 6: Development

After using the teleportation gate to verify success, Lynch began the creation of the spell model. At this point, it was relatively easier. After all, the difficult part of a spell model is the calculation and design of the initial parameters. Once these are completed, the rest is just following the pattern.

It only took Lynch a few months to complete the construction of this spell model.

The newly constructed spell model was designed according to his previous plan, able to open a space crack connecting to the underground city and summon undead creatures from it.

Unlike ordinary spell models, the strength of this spell model created by Lynch mainly depends on the strength of the undead creatures he commands.

This is where the tremendous value of adventurers is demonstrated.

When each adventurer defeats the undead, they use the adventurer badge to read the soul mark from the remaining soul while imprinting Lynch’s spiritual imprint on the dead soul. When these dead souls reattach themselves to the material and resurrect, Lynch’s spiritual imprint remains on them, subject to Lynch’s command.

With the tireless efforts of many adventurers, Lynch’s spiritual imprint has now spread throughout the hundreds of underground cities uncovered, amounting to at least millions!

A million scale…

This could indeed be called an undead tide!

When fighting against enemies, the teleportation gate opens, and an endless undead army rushes out from the gate, overwhelming and unstoppable. Regardless of their actual combat strength, this momentum alone is enough to terrify the enemy…

Of course, while the vision is beautiful, specific implementation still faces considerable challenges.

Lynch’s current level of spell creation hasn’t reached that magnitude. The torn space cannot support the transmission of undead creatures of that scale. Lynch has attempted it, but at most can summon only several thousand to ten thousand at a time.

[Undead Summoning lv0: 128/300000]

The level shown on the system panel matches its current tier. To achieve the splendid scene Lynch envisages, it’s necessary to continuously improve skill proficiency.

Unlike other spell knowledge where proficiency is raised by reference, this spell has no reference as it’s Lynch’s own creation. Its improvement mainly comes from Lynch’s continuous enhancements to the spell.

Integrating more magic formulas, arranging magic more precisely and complexly—each effort gains a +1 proficiency increase.

Take it slowly.

Time flies, and two years pass in the blink of an eye.

During these two years, the development of Lynch’s Witch Domain faced some obstacles.

First came the development bottleneck.

The Ruins Forest and several surrounding resource areas have been exploited to the extreme, generating a magic stone value of tens of millions annually.

Tens of millions of magic stone, indeed a substantial number, but operating the current Adventurer Guild is barely enough, not to mention it’s somewhat stretched.

Adventurer badge, magic potion, magic farm, alchemy workshop, Light Church, training wizard apprentices, Lynch’s own cultivation…

All of these rely on magic stones, and even investing tens of millions of magic stones is just a few ripples.

If no other revenue sources are found, Lynch can only choose to expand outside to continue developing the Witch Domain. But based on his current ability… he’s not fully confident… especially after experiencing the real order here with Seren last time…

The second issue is that his development began to diverge with surrounding Witch Domains.

Still the Dark Moon Church Wizard Organization.

It seems they’ve tasted success from adventurer mining, and the Dark Moon Church’s conduct is increasingly excessive.

Previously, only some adventurers who ventured out were secretly captured for mining, but recently it’s becoming blatant.

Colluding openly with external nobles, some nobles began recruiting knights publicly, claiming to grant farms and subjects. When adventurers truly believed and went, they were captured by the Dark Moon Church’s wizards to mine at Jade Ridge.

Even at the border, specialized slave capture teams appeared, and more than one adventurer has been captured at the border.

“Do they think I’m easy to bully?”

“If that’s really the case…”

“Then it’s best they keep thinking so!”

Over these years, Lynch’s investigation into the Dark Moon Church hasn’t ceased. After consistent probing, he indeed gathered a lot of useful intelligence, gaining a much deeper understanding compared to before.

Unlike Lynch’s previous investigation, high-level wizards are just the obvious power of the Dark Moon Church. They also exist as a second tier, but like Lynch, they remain hidden behind the scenes.

Their backstage Witch Master is named “Dark Moon Witch Master.” The specific strength is unclear; it’s roughly assumed to be in the early stage of mystical level. It’s said to be an apprentice of Lord of Nature, Felvin.

The early mystical stage is comparable to his current strength, but besides himself, the opponent has developed for many years, possessing a certain scale of wizards, apprentices, etc., overall, stronger than him by a level.

Even without considering the Tower of Order behind them, fighting directly doesn’t guarantee any advantage.

Since there’s no absolute confidence, it’s best to stay low for now.

The adventurers captured are still few, just some low-level, weaker Black Iron Level ones. Since higher-level ones are harder to capture, mining efficiency isn’t much better than Black Iron Level, and the guarding process is more problematic.

Every professional has been cultivated by Lynch with resources, so being captured is undoubtedly distressing. But now is not the right time to deal with the Dark Moon Church.

What’s vital now is to rapidly enhance himself.

This enhancement has two aspects: Lynch’s personal strength and the adventurers’ improvement in the Witch Domain, both essentially complementary.

Only when adventurers’ strength improves can higher-level underground cities be opened to eliminate stronger undead creatures and leave spiritual imprints. Lynch can command stronger undead.

For example, the bone dragon in the 36th underground city is a powerful creature with attribute values comparable to Third Tier. If conquered… Lynch’s own strength will advance a tier.

However, given the adventurers’ current strength, it’s not yet realistic to conquer the bone dragon… The future is bright, the road is winding; continue working hard.

Of course, the development of the Witch Domain over these two years isn’t entirely bad; there are some things worth celebrating.

Firstly, with years of accumulation, the adventurers reached a breakthrough period, and the earliest batch began advancing to knights on a mass scale using the breathing technique.

Besides that, there’s been a significant increase in the number of transcendent individuals. Among several extraordinary organizations, the number of transcendent individuals approaches a thousand, which, even compared to the former Ancient Ruins, is a sizable Wizard Organization.

Moreover,

After years of gestation, someone within Lynch’s Witch Domain has finally begun advancing to a wizard…
