Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1522

Chapter 1522: Section 1523 Taking Over Chapter 1522: Section 1523 Taking Over The topic at hand revolved around Angel and Horus.

However, Horus is not a man of many words; most of the time, it was Wallace who explained the origins of matters.

As the wine flowed and spirits lifted, the atmosphere grew warmer.

During this time, Angel also contacted Antonio and through his membership at the Research and Development Institute, granted some permissions to Horus, allowing Horus to make some decisions concerning Barbarian Cave and the Research and Development Institute during certain moments.

After granting the permissions to Horus, it facilitated his future work activities.

Regarding Horus taking over as the permanent station head, there was also a somewhat ceremonial banquet, but it was only held in the evening and the location was at the station in Barbarian Cave, so for the remaining time, they were essentially just chatting and exchanging thoughts.

Since it wasn't a formal social interaction, several apprentices, including David, Nanaji, and Bates, were also arranged to sit at the table, though at the far end.

Even though everyone was exchanging words, the topics were still inseparably linked to Angel.

The discussed content was nothing more than about how Angel became a member of the Research and Development Institute, as well as his process of advancing.

Regarding these topics, Angel chose some matters he could discuss, but he did not speak about the private affairs of Black Castle or matters related to Frost.

The things he concealed were not unspeakable, but they were only to be discussed privately.

After Angel explained, although the topic occasionally drifted back to him, it wasn't as intensely focused on him as before.

Angel also learned from their conversations… more precisely, from Wallace, about some matters closely related to Southern Domain Wizard World, Barbarian Cave, and even personal matters.

For instance, the unrest in Eternal Night Country showed no signs of subsiding and had even started to spread to neighboring nations.

All countries contiguous with Eternal Night Country suffered to varying degrees. Those less affected included the fertile country where West Dimosha is located, and Pamiji Plateau where Barbarian Cave is situated.

The fertile country was less affected because the border area between Fertile Country and Eternal Night Country is a scarcely populated desert, so the contagion was slower than in other countries, but it was still spreading methodically.

As for Pamiji Plateau, although the plateau is a natural barrier, it could not stop those Colorful Dragonflies. The reason for less contagion, however, was due to the relics.

At the mention of relics, everyone's expression turned grim.

Or rather, whenever the recent tribulations of Barbarian Cave were discussed, it was almost a chain of misfortunes. The only good news was Angel becoming a member of the Research and Development Institute, which injected some vitality into Barbarian Cave.

In summary, the recent misfortunes of Barbarian Cave: the unrest in Eternal Night Country, added uncertainty to the future of Barbarian Cave.

The fusion of planes was initially a good thing, as long as the final entry and exit of the fusion were at Pamiji Plateau, that would be beneficial for Barbarian Cave. Alas, the fusion of planes failed at the last step.

And the Prophet Wizard of Crown Star Church has yet to find the reason.

This series of setbacks was not over, as the residual energy from the plane fusion caused a large number of relics to emerge in Pamiji Plateau, among these relics, one peculiar relic became a concern for the wizards of Barbarian Cave.

Missing wizards, gatherings of Colorful Dragonflies… etc., all occurred in this relic, and to this day, the exact situation in the relic remains unanswered.

As the relic is right next to Mirror World, fearing it might affect Barbarian Cave, Lord Rhein has also stayed near the relic.

Of course, although the relic is peculiar, it has not posed a threat so far. The Nightmare Realm Demons within are the true foes of Barbarian Cave.

These Nightmare Realm Demons, however, didn't just appear near the Eternal Night Country; their traces also popped up in other places–like the pits of the Tomajiga Forest in Wunong Duchy, the La Toku Mountain Range on Prison Island, the Seventh Root Continent of the Stone Mulberry Dynasty… traces of Colorful Dragonflies were found everywhere.

This gave everyone the illusion of the Southern Domain being unstable, as if a storm was approaching.

The shadow of the Demon God that everyone was originally worried about temporarily disappeared due to an unexpected event in the Abyss, where the Lord of the Flameless, a True Spirit, perished.

However, the shadow of the Nightmare Realm Demon replaced the Demon God's shadow, hanging ominously overhead.

This conversation ended under these obscure and entangling shadows, leaving everyone deeply worried.

Horus and Wallace had to leave early to prepare for the evening's succession banquet, while Lianna stayed in the manor, keeping Greya company.

Consequently, Angel and David also found some time to chat.

But their conversation didn't last long, as David hurriedly left for the Infinite Battle Tower due to a competition.

Time passed, and the stationed succession banquet also concluded.

No special incidents occurred at the banquet, but it's worth mentioning that Lord Rosen also attended. Even though he was calm when facing Horus, there was still a hint of wariness in his eyes.

After all, Horus is a Second Level True Knowledge Wizard permanently residing in Sky Mechanical City, whether his presence bodes well or ill for Rosen remains an uncertainty.

After the banquet, Angel and Sanders set off to return to the manor.

For some ceremonial sense of the banquet that Sanders cared about, they came in a carriage, thus they returned the same way.

Inside the carriage, Angel leaned against the soft fur, the warmth of the stove in the center of the carriage and the slight jolts of the ride made him feel drowsy.

At that moment, Sanders suddenly said, “We might need to make a trip back to the Barbarian Cave after a while.”

Angel: “Because of the ruins' matter?”

During the day, Angel noticed that when Wallace mentioned the ruins, Sanders seemed hesitant to speak.

Indeed, Sanders nodded, “Previously, Lord Rhein communicated the situation about the ruins.”

Since there are numerous Colorful Dragonflies in the ruins and Reinmut also knows it relates to the Nightmare Realm, Sanders was informed by Reinmut who has the deepest understanding of matters related to the Nightmare Realm.

“The ruins are very strange. It's not just a problem of Nightmare Realm creatures; they inherently possess some weird characteristic.”

There are numerous ruins on the Pamiji Plateau, and due to the residual energy from the recent plane fusion, these ruins were forcibly opened, most of which were already explored by the ancestors of the Barbarian Cave, and many wizards occupy these ruins for day-to-day experimental research.

But this particular ruin was different.

Even before it was occupied by Colorful Dragonflies, the ruins had shown eerie aspects.

Several Official Wizards fell inside it and no news came out. After that, with the occupation by the Colorful Dragonflies, the danger level of the ruins increased once again.

“After all, the ruin is near the Barbarian Cave, so we must eliminate the dangers; otherwise, moving to the Mirror World will be the only option.”

“The main reason for you to return is that perhaps only you will understand what trickery exists within those ruins.”
