Also, many thanks to everyone who bought me coffee (*≧∀≦*)

The instant Xiao Heng heard that name, his eyes suddenly stung and grew hot.

He had returned.

Returned still as Long Yi.

Long Yi, have you regained your memories, and found the answers you were searching for?

Are you here to hunt down the Sword Lodge, or to come home?

Will you stay by my side from now on again?

There were far too many questions Xiao Heng wanted to ask Long Yi, but unfortunately, now was not the time for such things.

The Sword Lodge had dispatched four experts. Even though he himself was not trained in martial arts, it was not difficult for him to sense that these four were far stronger than the swordsmen who had already fallen.

These must be the four revered Elders that Li Jiangping had spoken of.

Long Yi, you must be careful.

“It’s Shi Tian!” The White Tiger Elder exclaimed in alarm.

The other three had also recognized him. The world was full of unexpected things, but none as shocking as the sight before their eyes.

The once brilliant sword prodigy, the Sect Leader’s personal disciple, had somehow turned into the enemy who had come to slaughter the Sword Lodge.

This was truly——

As the head of the four Elders, the Azure Dragon Elder naturally held authority over the situation. He stepped forward, his face dark as he fixed his gaze on Long Yi, his voice heavy with authority:

“Shi Tian! Do you truly mean to set yourself against the Sword Lodge?”

His eyes swept past Xiao Heng and the others, before landing once more on Long Yi’s masked face.

“Do not let yourself be deceived by this group. You are not some ‘Long Yi’; you are our disciple of the Sword Lodge. The Sect Leader is your master, he raised you with his own hands. To him, you are half a son! When you went missing back then, the Sect Leader exhausted every effort to search for your whereabouts. Even when he learned that you had failed your mission, he bore no anger toward you, only hoping to find you safe and bring you back. Who would have thought you were abducted, your memories erased, forgetting every detail of your life in the Sword Lodge!”

As for Long Yi’s memory loss, An Hun had long since reported it to the Sword Lodge. They did not know the exact means, but it was surely man-made, with the intention of turning Shi Tian into a weapon for killing.

And the culprits were none other than this group that had claimed Long Yi as their own!

“Azure Dragon Elder.” Long Yi spoke at last. His voice was flat and chillingly detached, perfectly matching the aura around him.

What?

Why was he able to address his own identity?

Could it be… An Hun’s intelligence was false? He hadn’t lost his memory?

The Azure Dragon Elder stared at Long Yi in shock, carefully scrutinizing him from head to toe. Then, his pupils contracted.

“The Black Moon sword?!”

“What?” The Vermilion Bird Elder at his side widened his eyes as well, fixing his gaze on the sword in Long Yi’s hand. “It truly is the Black Moon sword! But that’s strange. Wasn’t the sword lost by the young master? How could it be in Shi Tian’s possession?”

At their words, Xiao Heng also turned his eyes to Long Yi’s sword.

He was standing closer than the others, and could see more clearly. It was indeed the Black Moon sword.

But that was strange, because the sword was clearly in the hands of Xuanyuan Qi and Liao Chen. They had taken it, and taken Young Gentleman Ming Yue with them to the Sword Lodge.

So why was this sword now in Long Yi’s hands?

While the Elders confronted each other, Shangguan Qing took the chance to scuttle over with his firelance in hand.

He was the only one present who hadn’t crossed paths with Long Yi before, and Long Yi, sensing an unfamiliar aura, raised his sword.

Xiao Heng pressed down on his hilt. “That’s my elder brother.”

Long Yi’s killing intent receded.

Shangguan Qing crouched down on one knee beside his younger brother. “Is JiaoJiao alright?”

“She fainted.” Xiao Heng held Gu Jiao tightly in his arms, his heart aching.

“What in the world is going on? Is this Long Yi the Dragon Shadow Guard you told me about?”

“Yes.” But as for the exact details, Xiao Heng himself only half understood.

There were three doubts in his heart. First, how did Long Yi obtain the Black Moon sword? Xuanyuan Qi could not possibly have lost it, which meant only two possibilities. Either Xuanyuan Qi had willingly given the sword to Long Yi, or Long Yi had taken it by force.

But whichever it was, it meant Long Yi had met Xuanyuan Qi.

Then the question arose, where were Xuanyuan Qi and others now?

And the third doubt, this Azure Dragon Elder kept insisting Long Yi was like a son to the Sword Lodge’s Sect Leader. But since when would a son, upon regaining his memory, return only to destroy his father’s sect?

There must be some hidden secret between the Sword Lodge Sect Leader and Long Yi.

And this secret was perhaps one that not even the four Elders themselves knew.

But whether they knew or not, it made no difference. For their actions of aiding a tyrant in his cruelty, they could never be forgiven.

The White Tiger Elder gave a cold snort. “Azure Dragon Elder, Shi Tian has long since betrayed the Sword Lodge. There’s no need to waste words with him. Let us cleanse the sect for the Sect Leader at once!”

The Azure Dragon Elder frowned, turning to Long Yi. “Shi Tian, I will give you one final chance. Return to the Sword Lodge, and I will plead on your behalf with the Sect Leader, saying you were deceived by these people and thus did things harmful to the sect.”

Long Yi swept his long sword in an arc, and a mighty surge of sword qi lifted several of the dead Protectors’ swords from their scabbards, driving them into the ground around Xiao Heng and the others with sharp whistling sounds!

The swords formed a barrier, and anyone who crossed it would die.

Shangguan Qing stared wide-eyed at the blades hemming them in. “Whoa, no way, that’s incredible!”

His hand, too curious for its own good, reached to pull one of the swords beside him, only to find it utterly immovable. “The strength in this… unbelievable.”

The Azure Dragon Elder’s eyes darkened, his sword pointing at Long Yi. “Shi Tian, it seems you refuse the toast and choose instead the punishment. Do not blame us for discarding old bonds. We watched you grow up, and killing you truly leaves me reluctant.”

Shangguan Qing chuckled dryly. “Hey, old man, what’s with all the nonsense? Are you fighting or not? If you’re scared, then hurry up and scram——ahh!”

Before he could finish, the Azure Dragon Elder’s sword qi slashed toward him, and he yelped with a shriek worthy of Xiao Yiyi.

But the strike never reached him, as Long Yi blocked it firmly.

Then, in the blink of an eye, Long Yi flew forward, clashing head-on with the four Elders of Sword Lodge.

Yes, all four at once. He was fighting the four Elders simultaneously.

It was a battle even more breathtaking than his clash with An Hun. Each of these men was a first-class expert of the world, their blades flashing so fast they left only afterimages, filling the air with deadly light.

Shangguan Qing’s eyes rolled as he tried to follow, his firelance swinging from one figure to the next, never able to fix on a target.

After a while, the fighters showed no sign of tiring, but Shangguan Qing’s eyes were exhausted; plopping onto the ground, he groaned with the bitterness of a man wronged by the heavens, “No good, no good, they’re too fast! I can’t get a shot!”

Xiao Heng’s eyes stayed locked on Long Yi. He knew Long Yi was still poisoned by the purple herb, and risked losing control at any moment. Yet, was it his imagination? Long Yi seemed stronger now than before.

Regaining his memory had made him understand who he was, and why he fought.

He was not Shi Tian.

He was Long Yi.

Description:

In the suspenseful supernatural novel “Records of Mortals,” Jiang Baiyan, once a solitary and impoverished youth, finds refuge in the Shi family of Chang’an due to his extraordinary bloodline. With his clear and captivating peach blossom eyes, this seemingly innocent young man conceals a fanatical and malevolent lunatic within. Destined to succumb to darkness amidst hardship and degradation, he becomes a harbinger of chaos.

When Shi Dai suddenly transmigrates, she takes on the role of the Shi family’s young lady, the one who subjects him to countless trials, eventually leading to her demise.

The twist? She never got to finish reading the novel.

From what she knew of the plot, Jiang Baiyan was just a silent, timid, and often bullied pitiable character.

***

Jiang Baiyan had never encountered someone like Shi Dai.

After he had slaughtered all the evil creatures in the garden, the blood-stained young man, exuding a murderous aura, approached her step by step, his lips curling into a malicious smile, "Scared?"

Shi Dai responded, “You’re really amazing! I applaud you until I spin like a spiral and fly around the moon three hundred times! And also——you have dimples when you smile!"

Jiang Baiyan: ...?

After seeing her at a lantern festival with another man, Jiang Baiyan lowered his eyes, his fingers twirling her hair. He said in a mocking and sinister tone, "The mansion in the western suburbs...if I hide you there, no one will find you, right?"

Shi Dai replied, "Does it come with meals and lodging? Can I sleep in everyday? Oh, and your cooking is the best!"

Jiang Baiyan: ...?

Jiang Baiyan was supposed to dislike her, even hate her, but as their separation drew near, his eyes turned red and he grabbed her sleeve, pleading, "Don't abandon me, alri—”

Shi Dai responded, "Alright, alright, I’ll only have you. Mwah."

Jiang Baiyan: ...?

He hasn't finished his lines yet though…
