Chapter 375 - Guilty
Chapter 375: Guilty
“At that time…” Yang Nian pursed his lips. “Was there anything inside the glass bottle?”
“It’s empty.”
Yao Tang shrugged indifferently. She didn’t seem to care about the glass bottle at all.
Her tone sounded very normal.
Yang Nian couldn’t help but laugh when he heard that. Of course, why would he think such a thing? The corner of his lips twitched.
If that kind of ointment wasn’t used up, why would he be willing to throw away such a glass bottle? If only the bottle was left…that was normal.
After Qin Man had heard this, she pursed her lips. “Why would you pick up objects that others had already thrown away?” She tilted her head. “Although the Yao Familyisn’t comparable to a few aristocratic families, we aren’t poor. Besides, don’t you know how dirty that glass bottle could be?”
Her nose crinkled.
Was this woman some kind of garbage collector?
“Cousin, if you’re in need of anything, you’re free to tell my parents.” Yao Ran smiled. “Also if you’ve picked that up from the ground, you have to remember to wash your hands clean. If you give Grandma such an ointment…”
While she didn’t say the word dirty, it was definitely on everyone else’s mind.
Qin Man grabbed Old Madame Yao’s arm. The bruises had already turned purple, instead of their bright red hue. She frowned.
“Look at your arm. It’s purple.”
She sighed in frustration, shaking her head. “I’ve said it before. Even if she’s your granddaughter, you shouldn’t spoil Yao Tang too much. Wounds shouldn’t be messed with. It’s all that Yao Tang’s fault for being like this.”
“She even tried to trip Ranran to humiliate her! She had bad intentions coming here in the first place.”
While her voice was sharp, Qin Man couldn’t help but feel smug about the entire situation.
The old woman had protected Yao Tang just now, but now, her injury worsened. Didn’t that mean that they had all proven her wrong?
She laughed gleefully in her heart.
“Mom!” Yao Ran grabbed a hold of Qin Man’s arm. “Don’t talk to cousin like that. It’s really all my fault. I was careless.”
“How could you have fallen out of thin air?”
Qin man looked at Yao ran with her sharp eyes.
Ranran had always been kind-hearted, so she didn’t want Yao Tangto be the target of this nonsense gossip. But as a mother, should she not defend her own daughter?
Everyone glanced at Yao Tang.
“It’s not like that. I just…I didn’t know how I fell…” Yao Ran murmured with tears in her eyes. However, in her heart, she was already cheering and doing backflips.
Now, everyone was suspicious of Yao Tang
Even Yang Nian was no exception.
She was really smart right now, having thought of this move the minute she had entered the door. Her eyes flashed, as the corners of her lips twitched.
It was flawless!
Luckily, there were no surveillance cameras around to catch the small act. Besides, the method was simple. No one would’ve noticed that she had done it on purpose.
Coincidentally, Yao Tang was standing next to her just now.
Everything was just right.
As long as Yao Tang had no other proof, Qin Man’s accusation and everyone’s doubts were enough to convict her and ruin her reputation.
As long as doubt was established, everything would’ve already fallen into her plan.
Besides, she had been defending Yao Tang all this time. She was obviously protecting her cousin!
Yao Ran obviously wasn’t the culprit.
More importantly, after Yao Tang had applied the ointment on Old Madame Yao, her wound appeared to be much more serious. Everyone glanced over at Yao Tang, appearing to be more suspicious of her intentions.
As soon as Yao Ran’s words came out, Qin Man became even more convinced that Yao Tangwas the culprit.
“Tangtang, no matter what, Old Madame Yao is still your biological grandmother. Now that the situation had come to this, would you not be apologizing to her?”
After reprimanding Yao Tang, she turned to the guest.
“Young Master Yang, I’m really sorry. I treated you to a meal, only to have caused so much trouble for you,” Qin Man bowed her head and said. “Yao Tang…she had grown up in the countryside, so she isn’t as…sensible as the rest of us. I hope you can understand.”
Yang Nian could only smile in response.
He didn’t have any intention to step in and defend anyone. Instead, he simply acted as if he was just another innocent bystander.
