Chapter 2744: Touch Long Hui’s Skin

Chapter 2744: Chapter 2744: Touch Long Hui’s Skin

The interior walls inside this specific hotel’s elevators were completely covered with highly reflective mirror panels. If they entered that enclosed space, Tang Qin Hao would immediately notice in the glass that he had absolutely no reflection while Aoi’s Invisible Mode was active.

Yu Qi had absolutely no idea how she would even begin to explain a supernatural phenomenon like that to a man of science.

"But climbing all those flights of stairs will tire him out completely." Tang Qin Hao frowned slightly, feeling a sudden wave of guilt as he looked at the back of Long Hui’s head, noting how the man was still carrying him effortlessly.

"Don’t worry about him." Yu Qi smiled faintly, casting a glance back over her shoulder. "He will be perfectly fine."

"My room is located on the eleventh floor." Tang Qin Hao noted as they passed the digit on the wall.

Yu Qi shook her head, continuing upward. "We are not going to your room."

"Then... where exactly are we going?" Tang Qin Hao blinked in surprise.

"To our room, our Presidential Suite is located on the thirty-fifth floor." Yu Qi stated casually.

"What?" Tang Qin Hao’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief. "That’s the highest floor in the building."

Yu Qi merely smiled, her pace never faltering. "Just sit still and hold on. He will carry you all the way there without any problem."

And so, their silent trek up the concrete staircase continued.

Even after reaching the milestone of the thirtieth floor, Long Hui, who had been carrying Tang Qin Hao’s full adult weight on his back the entire time, showed absolutely no signs of fatigue whatsoever. His breathing remained perfectly even. His heartbeat stayed calm and steady against Tang Qin Hao’s chest. It was as though climbing dozens of flights of steep stairs while carrying another grown man required absolutely no physical effort from him at all.

Tang Qin Hao could not help but secretly admire the man’s terrifying physical stamina and conditioning.

Finally, they arrived at the heavy door of the thirty-fifth floor. Yu Qi pulled out her access card and tapped it firmly against the electronic security lock. The lock disengaged immediately. Yu Qi pushed the heavy door open and stepped aside, allowing Long Hui and Tang Qin Hao to slip through into the quiet hallway first. Afterwards, she unlocked the double doors leading into their private Presidential Suite.

All three of them entered the massive, luxurious room, leaving the danger of the outside world behind them. Long Hui walked over to the living area and carefully lowered Tang Qin Hao onto the plush sofa, helping him position himself comfortably against the cushions.

Only then did Yu Qi silently instruct Aoi to deactivate the Invisible Mode.

Tang Qin Hao attempted to shift his weight and stand up once again, testing his limits. Unfortunately, the strength still had not returned to his lower legs. The moment he tried to put pressure on his feet, his knees immediately gave way beneath him, forcing him back onto the cushions.

Yu Qi walked over seamlessly, gently grabbing his wrist between her fingers, and began meticulously checking his pulse.

The burning suspicion in his mind grew even stronger.

By this point, he was now almost entirely convinced that the mysterious young woman standing before him was actually his younger sister, Yu Qi, while the silent, formidable man beside her was Long Hui.

Yet... their faces were completely and utterly different from the siblings he knew.

He was certain they were not wearing standard prosthetic masks either. Earlier, while Long Hui had been carrying him up the stairs, his hand had accidentally brushed against the man’s jawline. It had felt entirely like genuine, warm human skin.

Unless the advanced military technology had already progressed to the point where even a realistic human skin texture could be replicated flawlessly to the touch, there had to be another explanation.

"Do you believe me?" Yu Qi suddenly asked, breaking the silence as she let go of his wrist.

"Hmm." Tang Qin Hao answered without the slightest shred of hesitation.

This time, it was Yu Qi who was caught completely off guard by the instant reply. She blinked in genuine surprise, looking down at him.

"You... You did not even hesitate for a second." Yu Qi looked at him curiously, tilting her head. "Why exactly do you trust me that much?"

"Because you explicitly risked your own lives to save mine." Tang Qin Hao smiled faintly, his expression softening. He looked directly into her clear eyes, his voice steady. "How could I not trust someone who willingly fought their way into that heavily guarded place just to rescue me from captivity?"

Yu Qi raised an eyebrow, playing devil’s advocate. "We could simply be another rival group with entirely different, hidden motives for wanting you."

"If that’s really the case..." Tang Qin Hao chuckled softly at the thought, leaning back against the sofa. He shrugged his shoulders helplessly. "Then I can only say it is my unfortunate fate."

Yu Qi fell completely silent. For several long seconds, she simply stared into his face, searching his expression. Finally, she sighed softly and spoke again.

"Give me some of your blood." Yu Qi finally spoke up.

Tang Qin Hao blinked, taken aback by the sudden demand. "What? What do you mean by that?"

Realising how incredibly bizarre and aggressive that sounded out of context, Yu Qi quickly cleared her throat and clarified her medical intent. "I need a fresh blood sample so I can run a chemical analysis and determine exactly what compound they injected into your system. Only after identifying the specific drug will I know how to synthesise an antidote and neutralise its effects properly."
