Chapter 1269: An Advancement of Plans
Chapter 1269: An Advancement of Plans
...
After Izroth walked through the portal opened by Hyrell, he arrived in a room that resembled the Arden’s office. However, one could from the old fashioned décor that it was room that had been through the ages. Despite this, there was not a speck of dust in sight.
"This place is my personal room in the Formation Master Guild building. The fact that it has been kept in such good condition and the exact way that I left it 150 years ago—it would seem that at least someone remembers my existence." Hyrell commented as she walked toward the room’s door.
"I should inform you that the current Formation Master Guild is split into two factions vying for power. The current Head of the Apothecary Guild’s faction, and the Vice-Head’s faction. The Vice-Head is using both inside and outside influences to slowly grab away power and place it into the hand of outsiders. It also happens that I had an unfortunate run-in with someone who belongs to the Vice-Head’s faction." Izroth explained.
"Factions? Hmph, I see some things never change. Before I became the Head of the Formation Master Guild, there were multiple factions vying for power. In truth, the 11th Head of the Formation Master Guild was nothing but a puppet of the Elder’s Council. That is why I made sure to clean up when place when I became the 12th Head. It would seem that the current Head is lacking in many ways." Hyrell said in a tone of disappointment.
She then continued, "Whether it’s the Head’s faction or Vice-Head’s faction, it does not matter. In the end, the Formation Master Guild must stand as one."
"Your identity alone should be more than enough to quell the chaos in the Formation Master Guild. But, I doubt those in power are willing to share it with another force, even if you were once the 12th Head. They will do everything in their power to make you out to be a fake." Izroth mentioned.
’Of course, something like that will never work. After all, this person—their skills alone speak for itself. Not to mention, the number of Grade Ten Formation Masters in the Mortal Realm can be counted on one’s hands alone. There would be no reason for someone to pretend to be Hyrell. From what I know, the current Head of the Formation Master Guild is only a Grade Nine Formation Master. If a Grade Ten Formation Master walked through the doors of the Formation Master Guild and wanted to become the new Head, even if there was a bit of resistance from others, it would only be a matter of time until those powers above made way for them.’
"They can try. But, the truth itself cannot be hidden when it is right before their eyes. Proving myself? Such a matter is as easy as breathing. After all, who do you think made most of the grand-tier pinnacle-ranked magic formations in this place?" Hyrell said with a light smile.
"Since it seems that you will be busy for a while, I have some other matters to tend to. Should I pay a visit to the Formation Master Guild tomorrow?" Izroth inquired.
Hyrell nodded and said, "I am sure you have some things to take care of before we can hold a proper conversation. While I want nothing more than to get started right away... Seeing as how I have already waited 150 years, what is one more day? Besides, this will also give me time to visit the Apothecary Guild. Since one of its Honorary Elders and promising talent is now my student, I should make sure others know that you are under my protection."
Hyrell was the genius of her era. That is why she knew better than anyone else what having talent like Izroth’s could cause. Jealousy, envy, hatred—Hyrell could not remember the number of people who hated her simply because she of her unrivaled talented. There were even those who plotted to take her life.
While she did not know what Izroth had gone through, it did not matter. Now that she had made her return, Hyrell planned to act as his shield.
"Since I have returned, I might as well do so in a grand manner so that others can not look down on me. Although I have lost my original strength due to maintaining the grand-tier pinnacle-ranked Spatial Time Stasis Magic Formation and the Primordial Spring Arcane Script for 150 years, I still have plenty of methods at my disposal. It will only be a matter of time before I regain my previous strength." Hyrell said.
"I am also looking forward to holding a proper conversation once everything has been settled." Izroth stated with a carefree smile.
’My Energy Vision Sense seems to be working again. Then, perhaps that as well...’
Izroth used his Divine Appraisal once again on Hyrell.

’Late Stage of the Legendary Realm Reverted? Then, does this mean her original strength was the Peak of the Legendary Realm? She has been inside of that place for 150 years... To be a Grade Ten Formation Master on top of a peak legendary realm powerhouse at the age of 56—there probably are not many people like her throughout all the Realm.’
Swoosh!
Suddenly, a small object flew towards Izroth as he caught it in the palm of his hand.
Izroth examined the item. It was an emblem with the crest of flowing wind with the sun setting on one side and the moon rising on the other.
"That is my token of authority. With it, you can use my name as you see fit as long as it helps you. While it will not be much use until I set things straight, you should hold on to that for now. I also implanted a special Arcane Script inside of that item. If you break it, no matter where you are, I will be teleported to your side. If you should face danger you feel that you cannot overcome alone, do not hesitate to break it. Do not concern yourself with the value as I can always make more in the future." Hyrell stated with a hint of concern in her voice.
"I will gladly accept your kindness. Rest assured, I will not hesitate to do what needs to be done should it ever come to that." Izroth said reassuringly.
It was never bad to have another trump card at one’s disposal. Naturally, Izroth would not reject Hyrell’s kindness.
After Izroth received the item from Hyrell, the two exchanged a simple farewell.
...
A few moments later...
Izroth arrived outside of the Formation Master District.
’What a convenient power. I can’t tell if it’s magic or something else entirely at play.’
Hyrell opened another portal that sent Izroth directly outside of the Formation Master District.
Izroth also wore a hood that hid his identity from onlookers.
In order to make those who were after his life a little more careless, Hyrell informed Izroth that he should try to keep a low profile for the time being. As long as they thought Izroth perished, they may trip up in their plans. After all, if it was revealed that he had survived and was even Hyrell’s student, those with ill intentions may sink deeper into the darkness and become increasingly difficult to find.
Izroth agreed with Hyrell’s plan. Besides, it was not necessarily a bad thing for him to keep his identity hidden. There were still other matters he had to settle. And, if others believed that he was out of the picture, it would make moving undisturbed throughout Danaharpe much simpler.
’Originally, I planned to head over to the Herbalist Guild. But, now that I know another Arcane Script Runemaster, that won’t be necessary. Still, what is taking that guy so long? He should have returned already with the ingredients I requested.’
Back in the Apothecary Guild, due to a bet he made, Izroth got a free servant in the form of Apothecary Rygar.
Izroth sent Rygar to the Herbalist Guild to collect some ingredients he needed as well as making a few inquiries on his behalf. However, instead of sending word of his progress, Rygar had not shown himself since Izroth sent him off.
Since Rygar was bound by a contract insured by the Head of the Apothecary Guild, he would not dare to break it carelessly. That is why Izroth believed that something must have happened to him.
’Given his years of experience, even if he is somewhat arrogant, he should not be this incompetent. I even gave him some incentive to complete his task without issues that he would not take lightly with his level of pride. Something must have happened to him.’
