Chapter 989: Invite
Staring at the sleeping Melissa and Altros, Rael couldn’t help but let out an exhausted breath. Honestly, both of these people shouldn’t even be here in the first place, but they now were because of his own interference.
But after the encounter with Renoir, seeing his worldview really did change a few things about how Rael thought. Alas, he might’ve done what he did and made them into who they were today, but so what?
Had he been in the same situation, he would’ve done it again as well. He was a curious person, and oftentimes reckless. So of course, feeling guilty over something like that was just pure stupidity.
And thankfully, Renoir and Melissa made him realize that. Now, as he stood before these two, the only thing he really wanted to do was toss them out. So without hesitation, he snapped his fingers, messing with their minds and forcing them awake.
They jolted awake, their eyes scanning the room as they eventually met Rael’s gaze. Sure, this guy didn’t mean any harm earlier, but he still blew up both their heads. It was… a rather natural instinct to want to avoid him.
“Now now, don’t cower just because you saw me. Instead, piss off out of my house. If you want to start a faction, do it. But if that faction’s members mess with us, I’m going to kill every last one of you,” Rael said, making sure to make a few things clear, and afterwards, he manifested a portal in front of them.
“I’ll keep an eye on you two. Don’t be annoying.”
And with that, he went ahead and used a small wisp of mana to push them through the portal, closing it behind them. Just like that, they didn’t even manage to utter a single word before being tossed aside.
Of course, Rael did initially have some intentions of setting them on the right path, but in the end, he was sure that no matter how much he spoke to them, if they had some kind of goal in mind, no words would alter it.
So now, as Rael stared at them from a distance, watching them flail around the cosmos for a brief moment before turning into light and vanishing, he could track them effortlessly, and so he did, watching as they eventually descended onto one of the nearby galaxies’ planets, and tried to talk it out with the people there.
But that didn’t really go well, as all that managed to do was anger the people. A fight erupted, and Melissa as well as Altros were pushed aside, threatened, and even attacked. Alas, they had no choice but to use their powers to wipe out that entire world.
Rael watched as they swiftly made it their base of operations, and before they could cause any more tragedy, he stopped watching, bored as shit. He knew that they weren’t exactly righteous. In fact, they were evil.
But he took it as necessary evil. If they could make an organization with the strongest beings in the universe, then Rael could always just use them however he pleased, establishing order where there wasn’t any.
Or, he could just singlehandedly wipe out the troublesome realities. Either way, their existence didn’t matter to him, and so, Rael gradually just stopped paying attention to them entirely. Afterwards, he glanced over at Nyx.
“I’m going to pay Vatyra a visit, so I’d like it if you stayed here for a bit.”
She nodded. “Mm. Good luck. Don’t say anything you’ll regret.”
Obviously.
So with that, Rael went ahead and teleported across trillions of kilometers, arriving in the realm where Vatyra rested. It was similar to Kareth’s realm, in the sense that it was within the Void Realm, but also far, far away from the Depths.
But unlike Kareth’s realm, it was very desolate. Aside from a few beings that served no purpose other than to cook or clean, there was a singular palace in the very center. It wasn’t that big, per se, but it did have one giant room where Vatyra stayed.
And from the looks of things, she was currently sleeping. He could’ve sworn he saw her moving a few minutes ago, so it must mean she was incredibly tired. Despite that, he went ahead and entered her palace, glancing around the emptiness and spotting her simply sleeping on a mat.
She was like some dragon, in a way. But oh well, Rael didn’t come here to feel sorry for her. Instead, he came here to send her an invitation, and so, with a single thought, he made his presence known.
A few seconds passed, and she soon opened her eyes, glancing at him. At first, she didn’t believe what she was seeing, but once the disbelief faded, she was met with reality.
“It’s you.”
Rael tilted his head. “Yep. It’s me. How are you feeling?”
She stared at him for a moment, then sighed. “A little sleepy. Could you come back tomorrow?”
“Sadly not. You see, the reason I came here today was so I could invite you to dinner. Uriel and Solenne are planning one tomorrow, and since they invited me, I thought I’d invite you. What do you say? Wanna come with me?” Rael asked with a smile.
Though…
“I’ve already gone to their dinner this year… I’d much rather just sleep today and tomorrow,” she replied, yawning. “Thanks for visiting. I’m glad you’re still alive. But you can leave now.”
Hmm.
“You sure about this? I don’t mean to be annoying, but if you’re already doing once-a-year dinners, you might as well come to this one. I’ll make sure they have turkey. You love turkey, don’t you?” Rael offered.
But sadly, that wasn’t enough for her, as she went ahead and pushed him aside with her mana, practically telling him to stop bothering her. It was a bit annoying that she didn’t agree, but he knew better than to push something like this.
So with a slight frown, Rael vanished out of her palace.
Yet Vatyra, who had been eerily silent this entire time, stood up, her brows furrowed. She hadn’t expected him to reappear, but now that he did… She needed to pay Uriel yet another visit.
