Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 839: First Look

Chapter 839: First Look

“He didn’t. Anyways, are you ready to enter the tower?” Rael asked plainly.

Renoir pouted slightly.

“What do you mean he didn’t? Shouldn’t you be less aware? Tsk… I knew you used that Premium Shop of yours to check for new volumes.”

“Focus,” Nyx said.

At her words, Renoir finally calmed down, and after letting out a sigh, he said:

“Fine… Who wants to enter first?”

Rael raised a brow at his reluctance, then decided to just raise his hand.

“I’ll go first, I guess. Nyx can come after me, and you’ll be last.”

“Mhm. Perfect,” Renoir replied. “Also, I don’t have any of my stat bonuses. I had [x530] beside my stats, and now everything’s so low. Tsk… what a shitshow. Well, so long as I’m still as strong as before, I guess I don’t care.”

While he continued on with his senseless talking, Rael went ahead and took a step toward the tower. Just then, he felt like something was pulling him toward it, and once he tried to take a step back, he realized that he couldn’t anymore.

He slightly turned his head at Nyx and flashed a defeated look.

“I’m being pulled in.”

“…Just stick your feet into the ground and stop, then?” Nyx replied with a tilt of her head.

Rael mimicked her words with a scoff, then decided to try it out. But instead, all that did was make it easier for him to launch off the ground, as in the next instant, he flew straight toward the main gates of the tower.

And once Rael hit the gates, his vision faded as hundreds of interfaces appeared all around him, circling him. Eventually, though, those interfaces faded, and Rael saw the main information he had been looking for, as well as what this tower was in general.

<Ding!>

<You have been deemed worthy to enter the High Tower.> <Description: The tower boasts many floors, and only the strongest may enter. Those who lack conviction should turn back down.>

In short, the tower didn’t tell him anything about what it actually was.

And with such a bullshit explanation, Rael was better off just trying to find something in his Premium Shop.

However…

<Ding!>

<Premium Shop cannot detect any objects.>

<You are unable to buy anything!>

Seriously…? Well, I guess I understand why, since I’m not even in the tower yet, but come on…

Rael let out a sigh, then glanced at the bottom.

<Would you like to enter the High Tower? Yes / No>

Then without an ounce of hesitation, he pressed “Yes.”

In the next instant, he felt as though a powerful pulse of mana suddenly brushed past his body, rendering him a little weaker for a moment. It felt like an attack, but it was really just some weird scan.

And once the scan was finished, Rael felt his body tremble slightly, followed by him suddenly being teleported far away. The teleportation was smoother than he expected, and once he finally reached the place he was supposed to be, his vision returned.

The moment it did, Rael was immediately met with a weird sight. There was a forest in front of him, and not only that, there were a few more pop-ups that appeared. These ones were just a little bit… different?

<Ding!>

<Choose your starting weapon!>

<Bow>

<Sword>

<Spear>

<x5,924 more choices.>

Huh.

Weapons.

Rael decided to give it a shot, and so he clicked on the more choices option. He was searching for a Violin Blade, since that was the most overpowered weapon he knew. Sadly for him though, that weapon wasn’t in the list.

Kind of strange to think, considering weird shit like steel chopsticks were considered weapons.

Anyhow, Rael decided to just go with the sword, since he had plenty of experience with that, and also some skills he could use.

And once he made that choice, the pop-ups finally vanished, and he was once again greeted with the same forest as earlier.

Right off the bat, the forest seemed pretty normal, so Rael was a little confused about what he was supposed to do here.

But with everything kind of simplified, he was pretty eager to see what this tower had in store for him.

And so the moment he took a step, Rael was immediately met with a pop-up.

<Ding!>

<First Floor – Floor of Beginnings>

<Description: The floor that had served as the foundation of the High Tower. It’s the largest floor of them all, but it is also the one filled with the weakest beings.>

<Clear Condition: Slay the Goblin King (Level 5)>

It really did feel like some kind of reset.

I can’t say I hate it though. Anyhow… Nyx, are you there?

He called out a couple of times, and at first, he didn’t get a response.

But just then, once he was about to give up, her voice resounded inside his mind.

[I’m here… It seems we were separated. Renoir’s also not near me.]

Rael sighed.

How far away are we from each other? I could probably come over or teleport.

[I already tried teleporting, it didn’t work. As for coming over, we’re not in the same realm. It’s similar to the Spirit Realm, I guess? We’re on like different wavelengths, and reaching each other would be a bigger pain in the ass than trying to just clear the first floor,] Nyx replied.

Rael pondered over it for a moment, then decided to just roll with it.

Alright. I’ll go look for a Goblin King then. You do the same, yeah?

[Yes ma’am.]

Ma’am?

Tsk…

He wished Nyx was here so he could scold her.

Despite that, Rael fiddled around with the steel sword in his grasp, then decided to inspect it out of curiosity.

—Steel Blade (Common)

Durability: Infinite

Damage: 5~11

This really makes it seem like some kind of god playground, where everyone has maxed out stuff, and they’re just playing around, Rael thought, then glanced over at the forest again.

But oh well… I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.
