Chapter 772: Back In Seoul
The moment Rael got back, he was immediately met with a very, very interesting sight.
There was a dragon flying over Celestara and spewing fire.
However, that very same dragon was being ridden by none other than Uriel, who steered it by its horns and laughed with a huge smile on his face.
Thankfully, the dragon wasn’t actually destroying anything, but the fire did burn down a few kites and nearly started a forest fire.
But damn.
Staring at Uriel, who had grown up so much in just a few weeks, really was something.
Uriel now looked like the current Rael.
Long platinum hair with slightly blackened ends, a tall stature, and even a bit of compact muscle.
Honestly, even if this wasn’t his biological kid, he shared all the similarities Rael could ever hope for.
He wondered how his child with Zafira would look.
…Lilith too, maybe?
Rael chuckled at the sight, and just then, he noticed Nyx atop the dragon as well.
She was right behind Uriel, and although he didn’t seem to notice her, she was clearly having as much fun as Uriel.
The players, on the other hand, were busy recording all of this nonsense and streaming it.
Though… there were way too few people.
It was because Rael had frozen South Korea in time.
Now, though, he decided to actually spend some time with the people he was close to, since he felt like he would miss something really precious if he just got strong and skipped everything before the war.
Whether that was a naive or stupid decision, Rael wasn’t sure, nor did he care.
For starters, though, Rael wanted to do a little something, and that little something was to unfreeze the time of South Korea so Rael Altros, as well as Melissa Altros, could finally move.
Rael had the location of that world in the back of his mind, and although it was far, he could make it.
And since he wanted Uriel to have some more fun, Rael decided to go through with it.
However, right as he was about to open a portal to South Korea, Vatyra reappeared beside him and tapped his shoulder.
“You’re a hard man to get a hold of. Don’t you think you should check in a little more?”
Rael sighed.
“I was in the Dragon Realm. Though, don’t you have Anastasia to keep you company?”
Vatyra scoffed and narrowed her eyes.
“She’s not really a mother, you know? All the advice that Lucien had planted inside her mind was false, and nearly got Uriel killed. That’s why I put her in timeout.”
“You put Anastasia in timeout…? How does that work?”
A smirk appeared on Vatyra’s face.
“I made her rule Celestara and the rest of the continent as punishment.”
“What? How is that punishment?” Rael asked, puzzled.
Vatyra just stared back at him as if he had said something stupid.
“You think ruling is fun…? It’s boring as hell. You do nothing but sit on your ass and do paperwork, command others, and just be miserable for God knows how long. If you enjoy it, then that would confirm my theory of you being a masochist.”
Rael wasn’t a masochist.
Though, he didn’t think sitting on his ass all day was too bad.
Anyhow…
“So what about you? Are you just letting Uriel wreak havoc, or…?”
She gave him a quick nod.
“Pretty much. Do you remember this dragon?”
Rael glanced over at the dragon and realized that its dragon heart was gone.
Which would only mean this dragon was Mercurius, the same dragon Rael had brought out of the dungeon and sent on a dungeon-conquering quest with Linlin and the others.
Medusa was there too, but Rael wasn’t sure what happened to her.
Either way, Rael smiled slightly, knowing that the city was in good hands.
And with that in mind, he gave Vatyra a quick glance, and then slashed his hand, creating a barely stable portal that led directly to South Korea.
In particular, the hospital where Melissa and Rael were frozen in time.
Since the portal was unstable, Rael couldn’t see the other side, but even so, he was ready to hop on through.
But since the opportunity presented itself, he first glanced over to Vatyra.
“Do you want to come along to my world?”
She tilted her head slightly and glanced at the portal.
“I don’t think the two of us will be able to fit through that.”
“Why? Have you gained some weight?”
A bonk arrived atop Rael’s head, followed by Vatyra’s glare.
“Don’t say that again. Now widen the portal and make it more stable.”
“Yes ma’am…”
Rael let out a sigh and began stabilizing the portal with a bunch of mana, and even making it larger.
In just a few minutes, he was done, and he stared at the portal.
Without waiting for her to say anything, he stepped through and endured the sensation of his body being ripped apart, but since he wasn’t exactly a stranger to this kind of pain, he waited for it to pass.
And once all the pain faded away, Rael slowly opened his eyes and looked at the sight ahead.
Melissa was on the hospital bed, and beside her was Rael.
The two of them were frozen in time, just like Rael had left them.
Though… it had become really cold here.
Rael walked over to the window and glanced down at the city of Seoul.
Everyone was frozen equally, yet when he glanced ahead, Rael spotted a glimmer of the sun beyond the frozen time barrier.
He wasn’t sure whether or not he was high, or the sun was a bit bigger than normal.
Either way, he didn’t bother with it, and instead, he just sat down on Melissa’s bed and waited for Vatyra.
She arrived just a few minutes later, and to his surprise, she vomited all over the floor.
“Ugh… shit. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten whatever Uriel made.”
“Is he a bad cook?” Rael asked, chuckling.
Vatyra wiped off the vomit and nodded.
“He mixed bananas and some weird liquid he had found in the fridge. I’m never handing the apron to him ever again.”
“Heh. Well, clean it up, I guess. I’m about to unfreeze time.”
Vatyra rolled her eyes and did just that.
Once she was finished, she stood in the corner of the room, and as for Rael, he closed his eyes and prepared to unfreeze time.
