Chapter 770: Sh*t System
Chapter 770: Sh*t System
Instead of replying, Braum just stared at Rael silently for a few moments.
Just then, Rael felt a small bit of mana appear behind him, and once he turned around, he saw a man with long purple hair and galaxies for pupils staring directly at him.
Rael couldn’t inspect him, but he knew for a fact that the person in front of him was none other than Braum himself.
“I could, at any moment, end your life, Rael.”
At Braum’s confident words, Rael just chuckled.
“And yet you won’t. Call me arrogant, but I believe when you mentioned responsibility, you were reflecting your own inability to do anything. So how does it feel to be one massive jug of cosmos floating around and doing fuck all for the rest of your life?”
“No need to be so aggressive,” Braum said, approaching Rael and placing a hand on his shoulder.
He tried to crush Rael’s shoulder, but when he realized that Rael’s body was similar to jello, he halted and let out another chuckle.
“Jeez. You really are something. But tell me, what about my rules displeases you?”
Rael brushed Braum’s hand away, and after dusting himself off, he replied:
“Let’s see… Rules are fine and all, but limiting the strength of dragons by implementing stuff like defeat and acknowledgement is a little stupid.”
After all, to become a Tier 6, one must defeat a Dragon King.
The way that tradition was rooted was that they had annual competitions where they would need to fight the Dragon King in a straight-up duel, rather than something silly where both parties would benefit.
After all, a rock-paper-scissors tournament was all it took to double the strength of every single dragon.
Then, a simple voting system without any privilege would turn Dragon Kings into Dragon Gods.
All of that wouldn’t even take that long.
And in the end, the amount of strength that the dragon race would have by the end of it would put them at the very top of the food chain, right where they belong.
But even when Rael relayed every single piece of his mind over to Braum, his reaction was the same as what Rael expected.
“I don’t believe in equality. If we made random dragons powerful, disorder would come forth, and by default, uprisings, wars, and many other things. The dragons are weak for a reason, and that reason is enough for me to not change anything.”
“I wish I was as delusional as you,” Rael replied, then turned around.
“If you don’t mind, send me out already. I don’t think we’re going to get along in the slightest.”
“…”
Braum took a few steps forward and glanced at his own body up above.
The magnificent figure of such a big cosmic dragon, and yet…
“You are perhaps too young to understand reason. I don’t blame you for that. But if you want to rewrite rules however you’d like, I suggest you become powerful enough to rival me and take my place.”
He turned to Rael and smiled.
“Power is everything. With power, you can change everything.”
With that, he snapped his fingers, causing Rael to momentarily turn drowsy.

<In order to reach Tier 9, you must evolve into a Cosmic Fate Dragon (Supreme).>
Seeing the notifications, Rael smiled widely, realizing that this was going to be much easier than he had initially expected.
Though, on another note, he couldn’t increase his tier anymore.
At least, not until he Ascended and chose to upgrade his Premium Evolution perk.
But since he had also decided to spend some time with it to get more perks and other stuff, Rael knew it would take a bit until he got to it.
Regardless of that, though, Rael was more than satisfied with everything, and so, through the drowsiness, he turned toward Braum, who was just staring back at him.
He seemed a little surprised that Rael could hold out for so long.
Still, he flashed a slight smirk and said:
“If you become a Cosmic Dragon in less than a year, I will personally teach you my special technique. Though, I highly doubt that’s going to happen.”
“…Don’t underestimate me,” Rael muttered through gritted teeth.
“Pfft… Sure. Good night.”
With those final words, Rael’s vision faded as silence once again returned.
A very annoyingly long silence.
But it was quickly interrupted by Nyx’s slightly worried voice.
[Hey… Are you alright? You blacked out for a moment there.]
Rael opened his eyes and realized that his head was on Nyx’s lap.
The two of them were in some kind of forest, and the sun was shining brightly above.
He took a moment to snap out of it, but once he did, he slowly sat up.
“I met with some Cosmic Dragon,” he said, ruffling his hair. “I can’t say it was a pleasant talk, but it seems like I’ll need to fight him one day.”
Nyx tilted her head.
“Cosmic Dragon? Why would you make an enemy of that type of being?”
Rael shrugged.
“It wasn’t intentional. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Let’s go check out how Astaroth and Victoria are doing, then take our leave, yeah?”
