Chapter 768: Lump Of Cosmic Flesh
Chapter 768: Lump Of Cosmic Flesh
<Ding!>
<Trial of Pacifism has been completed!>
<Grade: SS+>
Ah?
He only got SS+?
That was a bit disappointing.
But then again, this trial was made by a dragon most likely, and the only beings who died in this trial were dragons.
So yeah.
That being must’ve been petty enough to give him an SS+ instead of the usual SSS+.
Either way, Rael was satisfied with the progress, and so, he glanced over at the next row of pop-ups, indicating the final trial.
<Would you like to proceed to the next trial? Yes / No>
Oh.
Right.
He placed his hand on Nyx’s forehead, and in the next instant, pressed “Yes,” taking her along as he moved to the final trial.
And only then did the pop-ups appear.
<Ding!>
<The Final Trial – Dragon God’s Inheritance>
<Description: Converse with the first Dragon God.>
That was it?
Rael felt like he was scammed, since talking with people was what he does best.
Except when it’s a crowd of people.
At that point, his introvert side shines through.
Though…
Where even was this first Dragon God?
Rael glanced around the pitch black space.
Aside from a few nebulas and galaxies floating around, there was pretty much nothing else here.
However, he also realized that Nyx was nowhere to be seen, and since he could feel his connection with her, and the fact that she had silently gone back inside his mind, it meant that the first Dragon God was already here.
But where?
Instead of just plainly looking around, Rael decided to infuse some of his mana into his eyes.
In the next instant, the surroundings seemed to glow brighter as the nebulas and galaxies that were seemingly scattered around soon took shape.
A gigantic shape that Rael could barely even fathom as he quickly realized that these simple nebulas and galaxies were actually a part of the first Dragon God’s body.
After all, when Rael finally looked all the way up and spotted two miniature black holes that were staring directly at him, he knew that all of these cosmos were the first Dragon God.
And as if satisfied with Rael’s revelation, the first Dragon God’s voice soon thundered inside Rael’s mind, momentarily making him dizzy.
[Rael Sutekh, The Supreme Platinum Lord of the Cosmos. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.]
Rael took a moment to cool his head, then said:
“Do you know me? I’m honored.”
[Honored without even knowing my name? You’re as sly as I’ve heard. My name’s Braum. The First Dragon God, and someone who’s ascended past dragon-hood, and become what you’re seeing now,] Braum replied proudly.
Rael nodded.
“A massive lump of cosmic balls?”
[…]
[So you’re not honored, then?]
“I was just joking. It’s nice to meet you, Braum. Though, I do have to ask… To reach Grade 9, I won’t have to become something like you, will I?”
After all, Rael currently had 5 God of Infinity Fragments.
When this was over, he would only need one more.
And so… He really hoped he wouldn’t have to do something extreme to get it.
But sadly for Rael…
[It’s just another step in our evolution, so you shouldn’t be afraid,] Braum said. [It’s not like I can’t change into a humanoid form. I just simply prefer looking tough and fearsome, since I usually get much more surprised reactions than what you’re currently displaying.]
Aha.
So in the end, Rael would need to turn into whatever this was.
Did he hate it?
Kind of.
In a way, he also found it pretty cool, as he could scare plenty of people with it.
Maybe he could even do some other funny business that he would much rather keep secret.
Either way, Rael narrowed his eyes slightly in confusion.
“How does someone like you know about me? Also, are you alive?”
[To answer your second question, yes, I am alive. After evolving to the being I am now, I have attained complete immortality. Even while dead, I am not dead. I exist everywhere and nowhere. In a sense, I’m the perfect being now.]
Braum cleared his throat, and continued:
[As for your first question? That ties together with what I had just told you. Since I’m a perfect immortal, I can be everywhere at all times. I can see what most can’t. So seeing you fight all these powerful beings while still being a weakling yourself is very inspiring. If I could make you my disciple, I would.]
With that, Braum fell silent, and on the other hand, Rael was speechless.
Being watched by a being like that seemed good on paper, but then again, this being never actually stepped in, which put him in between the curious dragon and annoying stalker tier.
Probably leaning more towards the stalker depending on what Braum says next.
“So what do you think? Can I win this war?” Rael asked a bold question.
Braum paused for a moment, then answered:
[In terms of winning? I doubt it. Lucien and the Divine Realm have far more powerful forces. You only have a few beings that are somewhat noteworthy. In the grand scheme of things, unless you become the pinnacle of the universe, you stand no chance of ever winning.]
Well, that wasn’t reassuring at all.
But at least Rael now knew that this guy wasn’t a complete stalker who would take his side no matter what.
So instead, he fell back down to the curious dragon tier.
“I see… I guess that’s that. Anyways, since we’re here, what now?” Rael asked. “I’m supposed to just talk to you, but about what? I don’t exactly know how to strike conversations with people on your level.”
Seeing Rael’s honesty, Braum let out a hearty laugh that made the whole realm tremble, and Rael’s ears burst countless times, until finally, he settled down.
[That’s fine. I’ll just be asking you some basic questions that I ask every single person who goes through these trials,] Braum said.
[Then for starters…]
