Chapter 728: Rock Paper Scissors
Chapter 728: Rock Paper Scissors
“Astaroth…?” Rael turned toward him with a confused look. “Mind explaining what she’s talking about?”
He avoided Rael’s gaze.
But Rael was a little more insistent than Astaroth.
After all, he very clearly remembered Jane’s words when she mentioned that Astaroth used to be a ’former Dragon God.’
That shit stuck to his memory very damn well for it to now be a complete lie.
So as Rael continued staring at Astaroth, he eventually gave in.
“Shit, fine. My Dragon Heart Tier is only Tier 8. The requirements beyond that are too stupid for me to even come close to attempting.”
Victoria’s eyes widened.
“So you actually became a Dragon God?”
Rael read between the lines:
“Is the requirement to reach Tier 7 to become a Dragon God?”
Both of them turned to him and, after a brief moment, nodded.
“Yes. After you defeat your Dragon King, you will then become the Dragon King of your tribe and be given an advancement requirement of becoming the Dragon God. Obviously, it’s not easy.”
Astaroth chimed in:
“Remember my words, little imp. I already told you about the Dragon Gods. You need to reach Grade 10, be acknowledged by at least 25 Dragon Races, and have a Grade 10 wife.”
Rael recalled it very well.
And honestly, it didn’t seem like something he could do at the moment.
After all, reaching Grade 10 would take a while, even for him.
That is… unless he decided to start annihilating galaxies.
At that point, the experience gain would be a little…
Yes.
“Okay, scratch that idea for now. Tell me, if I were to become Tier 6 after defeating you, what happens to you?”
Victoria tilted her head.
“What do you mean?”
Rael rolled his eyes.
“I mean, I become the Dragon King, then I lose to you purposefully. Wouldn’t you become the Dragon King again?”
Victoria and Astaroth exchanged a glance.
Then, the two of them once again nodded at Rael.
“…That would indeed be the case.”
Rael’s brow twitched.
“Tell me you want to play rock paper scissors, and then lose. I’ll lose afterward.”
She was completely speechless by what was happening, while on the other hand, Astaroth was pleasantly amused.
His senses were slowly returning, and so seeing Rael act so normal made his mood go up as well.
“I’d say do it, wife. He might be a scumbag, womanizer, money-hungry bastard, and a few other things, but he’s usually pretty trustworthy. The odds of him betraying you are pretty slim, since he doesn’t even have any romantic feelings toward you.”
Rael felt like Burger just put him in the spotlight.
Still, that seemed to assure Victoria enough, and so…
“I challenge you to rock paper scissors.”
Rael smiled.
“I accept.”
The two went up to one another, and Victoria began the countdown.
With his foresight, Rael saw that she picked rock.
So naturally, once the countdown finished, Rael chose paper.
And to his surprise…
<Ding!>
<Dragon Heart – Tier 5 → Tier 6>
<Your body’s Physical abilities have been enhanced exponentially (MAX).>
<Your body’s Mana controlling abilities have been enhanced exponentially (MAX).>
<All Dragon-Based skills/abilities cost 75% less DTP (MAX)>
<Your flight speed increases by +5,000% → +50,000%>
<(NEW) Your fire breath is infused with the power of your Laws and expelled at 2x power.>
<You may put a curse on your treasure which harms any who try to take it from you. (NEW) Worlds, galaxies, or universes may be included.>
<Stats increase by 3x → 5x while airborne.>
<(Special) Option to add the Dragon Grade to your Neural Core – Grade Undefined>
<(NEW-Special) Your Mind Realm gains the Draconic Property.>
It was a large upgrade.
His Fire Breath’s power increased by 2x.
And increasing Law of Infinity’s power by 2x was… obviously insane.
Flight speed was so-so.
Though, if he was already moving at nearly 3,000 times the speed of light, increasing that by +50,000% was…
1.5 million times the speed of light.
Shit…
Rael was curious to test it out, as so far he had only been teleporting around and doing random stuff.
But if he could move so damn fast, just how fast could he travel between one end of the universe and another?
Anyhow…
He could add worlds to his treasures, galaxies too. Universes? Well, that might be a little too much for now.
More stat increases, and lastly, the Draconic Property, which Rael felt like wouldn’t make much of a difference, but he’d just have to wait for Gaia to come back if he wanted to know more.
So with these changes, Rael was pretty damn happy.
Just this pissed him off a little.
<Dragon Heart – Tier 6>
<In order to reach Tier 7, you must become a Dragon God.>
“Hmm…”
Rael turned to Astaroth.
But right as he was about to ask a question, Victoria stepped in and glared fiercely.
She made gestures with her hands as if telling Rael that she would obliterate his existence if he didn’t lose to her in rock paper scissors.
So like the good chap that he was…
“I challenge you to rock paper scissors-”
“I accept.”
Of course she does.
Rael went ahead with the countdown and threw a random sign.
As expected, Victoria saw right through him and picked something that won against him.
Rael waited for the pop-up which would say something about losing his authority or whatnot, but nothing of the sort came.
His brow twitched.
“Tell me, is this bullshit where if ’you beat a Dragon King, you become a Dragon King’ made by someone? Is it like a rule?”
“Yes…” Astaroth said through a heavy sigh. “Stop judging us now. You got what you wanted, so please leave my wife and helpless old me alone.”
“Oh, shut it,” Rael pouted. “Burger, is this Dragon God stuff also a part of the rules?”
Astaroth narrowed his eyes.
“First of all, the name’s changed. Second of all, yes. It’s another rule, but one that everyone has to follow if you want to be respected.”
Rael sighed.
“And if I don’t want to be respected? Can I just storm the other Dragon Gods, convince them to make me one, and then reap the free power-up?”
“…”
“T-Theoretically…”
Motherfucker.
