Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 723: Oath Breaker

Chapter 723: Oath Breaker

After what felt like several hours of meditation, Rael slowly reopened his eyes.

Just then, the two dragons left the small hut, and as expected, from Burger’s red face and the nonchalant expression of Victoria, he did in fact not sleep with her.

Even so, it seemed like the two got closer to one another, and in the end, that was all that mattered.

So after a few brief moments, Rael finally climbed down the massive tree and then walked on over to Victoria and Burger.

“So how did it go, you two?” Rael chuckled.

Victoria raised a brow.

“He tried to kiss me twice… While I get that we will be a couple soon, I believe he lacks understanding of when to make a move.”

Rael barely held back his laughter as he glanced over to Burger.

Yet Burger just avoided his gaze and didn’t say a word.

Clearly, he was embarrassed by the whole situation.

And as much as Rael wanted to tease him about it and call him maidenless…

“How do I sever my connection with him?” Rael asked.

Before Burger could answer, Victoria chimed in.

“Simply state his full name and title out loud and then state you wish to sever the contract between you two.”

“That’s all it takes?” Rael’s eyes widened. “So you’re telling me I could’ve gotten rid of him sooner? Wow…”

Anyhow, just as Rael was about to say Burger’s full name out loud, Burger coughed a few times, interrupting him.

“V-Victoria, why don’t you step inside for a moment? It won’t take long for him to finish.”

“Why would I do that?” She tilted her head. “This process doesn’t take long, so I don’t mind staying.”

Obviously, whatever he said, she would counter.

And the main reason he was doing all of this was because of his name.

It was no longer Astaroth.

It was Burger.

Burger, The Herald of Forgotten Kings.

Heh.

Rael got too attached to that name now, so he’ll be very sad once Burger’s name returns to being Astaroth.

Regardless of that, Rael watched the two bicker back and forth until finally, he cleared his throat and spoke:

“Burger, The Herald of Forgotten Kings, I wish to sever the contract between us.”

He even added a little flair to it.

And to Rael’s surprise, he suddenly felt a little bit of his mana zap away, then quickly come back.

Not only that, he felt like his mind cleared up as well.

Almost like a boulder had been removed.

Just then, a glowing light enveloped Burger, enhancing the density of his muscles slightly and making him even more toned.

Basically, he had regained the splendor of how he looked back when he first revealed his human form to Victoria.

And of course, Victoria’s interest immediately grew back, but then was overshadowed by the realization of the name Rael had just spoken.

“Burger…?”

“That’s a pet name I had picked out for him,” Rael chimed in. “But don’t worry about it. It doesn’t make him any less of a Soul Dragon just because of how silly his name used to be.”

Victoria gave him the side eye.

“You’re very bold to name a Soul Dragon after a snack. If I were him, I would beat you up, most likely.”

Rael shrugged, not entertaining that thought any longer.

But just then, a pop-up appeared in front of him.

<Ding!>

<Burger, The Herald of Forgotten Kings (Spirit King) has been removed!>

<Ding!>

“…”

No way, right?

Rael remembered the last time he used it, and the only reason he got Burger was because he didn’t have money.

The range was simple.

1 billion Trell got him within the range of the High Spirit to Spirit King.

He was lucky in that sense.

But now that he had hundreds of trillions… Could he get something completely overpowered if he invested like 1,000,000,000 Premium Coins?

Rael’s heart was pumping in excitement, but he knew he had to relax, as using it right away would be outright suicidal.

Furthermore, he felt like if he wanted to get the most out of it, then he needed to level up this perk to the Ultimate rarity.

And he could do so by simply ascending a Grade.

On that note, Rael planned on doing some quick speedruns across the Grades.

After all, since his new race made him Apocalypse Class by default, there was no reason to wait.

Smiling in satisfaction, Rael eventually turned back toward Burger… though now his name returned to normal.

And as expected, he was really damn powerful.

—Astaroth, The Herald of Forgotten Kings [Grade 10 Apocalypse Class | Level 4,399] – Vitality: Tier 100 (MAX) [100% / 100% HP]

Once he stopped glowing, Astaroth reopened his eyes and glanced at Rael.

“You know, I really wanted to fight you at least once, bastard. What do you say?”

Before Rael could even open his mouth, Victoria bonked Burger over the head and said:

“Don’t even think about it. There won’t be any more fighting. Also, sever the oath so we can run away already.”

“Ugh… Fine, woman. Give me a second.”

Astaroth suddenly sat down, crossed his legs, and finally closed his eyes.

A bunch of mana began gathering around him, and the surroundings that were pitch black and silver began to fade away, revealing regular earth on the floating island.

It was magical, but also very strange.

Yet Rael quickly realized that if this island technically didn’t have an element, then it would just be normal.

And with those thoughts in mind, Rael took a few steps back, as did Victoria.

The two of them stared at Burger until eventually, the whole floating island returned to normal, and Astaroth, on the other hand…

He was pretty much normal, except for the fact that he seemed incredibly weak now.

So weak that Rael felt like he could just flick his head and he would die.

Even so…

“What now?”
