Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 699: New Hospital Director

Chapter 699: New Hospital Director

“Doesn’t really matter now, does it?” Rael chuckled.

“All you have to know is that I’m on your side. I also believe that you’re the only person suitable for becoming the hospital director, since the other fuckers would abuse their power.”

And of course, Rael didn’t want a repeat of what had already transpired.

So with that in mind, he continued staring at the confused and slightly frightened Julian for a few moments until finally…

“Do I have a choice?”

Rael tilted his head.

“Partially.”

Julian frowned slightly.

“Then could I partially disagree until it’s my birthday? It’s only in two months or so.”

“…?”

That’s the excuse he was trying to throw out.

A fucking birthday?

“You know the world won’t stop moving just because your birthday’s around the corner, right?” Rael said, crossing his arms. “The hospital director is most likely going to be replaced by tomorrow. You have one chance, and one chance only. The chance is now.”

“As for when I told you you had a partial choice… I’m saying you have the right to refuse. If you say no, I’ll look for someone else. I can’t give you the luxury of a delay.”

And that was Rael’s honest thoughts.

For a moment, Julian simply remained silent.

He was young, and he was still a little naive.

But he was also far more mature than the other people his age, and even some adults.

Furthermore, he had the good of the people in his mind, not just money.

After all, being a brain surgeon and also being capable of performing every other kind of surgery… he was already loaded.

Yet the single prospect of him becoming such a high position kind of felt threatening…

Could he still make a difference even when he’s not directly involved in those surgeries?

Though… the more he thought about it, the more he realized something.

As long as he’s the hospital director and he abides by the rules, then he can turn the rules into anything he wanted.

And so, the limits he had thought of had quickly vanished.

Finally, he met Rael’s gaze and nodded.

“In that, I agree. But how are you going to make me into a hospital director?”

Rael smiled, then turned to the side.

Anna was already gone.

But soon enough, she walked in through the door beside five doctors, all of whom seemed high enough in position.

“I’ve brought the head doctors. That’s what you wanted, yes?” Anna asked.

Rael nodded.

“Yep. Their vetting should be enough to select Julian as the new hospital director. Paperwork can come later, if at all. I doubt this big ass country would notice when the replacement happened so quickly.”

Hearing that, the five doctors immediately frowned.

“What are you doing?”

“Why did you bring us here?”

As much as Rael wanted to give them a rundown on the whole situation, he just knew that it would come back to bite him in the ass.

More specifically, these people would likely try to use Julian for their own gain.

And for that reason alone, Rael simply closed his eyes and abruptly entered every one of their brains, altering their perception of Julian and eliminating all their dark desires.

It all happened incredibly fast, and by the time Rael exited their minds, their expressions, as well as thoughts, drastically changed.

So much so that they didn’t even try to argue anymore.

“I agree.”

“Me too.”

“I agree as well…”

One by one, the five of them agreed to appoint Julian as the new hospital director, and before long, Rael felt like his job was done.

“Good. I guess this is the part where I say you’ll start tomorrow. For now, go to bed or whatever. I’m going to clean up the body,” Rael said, patting Julian on the shoulder.

On the other hand, Julian was still a little startled.

“Are you an alien?”

Rael shrugged. “I guess I am.”

“Then… are there more aliens like you?” Julian asked.

“There are a lot more. Your world is the only one without magic. Though, I guess it doesn’t matter now. Just trust in what you have, since it’s somewhat working. Otherwise, you’ll have people like me running around, destroying the world and sending it into chaos.”

Patting his head a few times, Rael finally took a few steps back and glanced over at Anna.

She nodded at him.

Just like that, he felt like the basic stuff he had come here to do was finished.

And now, it was time to look for Gaia.

So with a simple wave, Rael and Anna vanished, reappearing a few kilometers above the city.

He didn’t mind being that low, since even if a camera were to catch him, people would just think it was photoshopped or something.

In the end, Rael just hovered there for a few short moments until finally he began searching for Gaia.

There wasn’t a lot of mana on this world, as the majority just gathered around in the plants and the atmosphere.

Yet if Rael were to focus on each one of those places, it looked like all the mana was redirected in one direction.

That direction being south.

Straight south.

Rael did a few tests with the plants and glanced at the atmosphere of a couple more neighboring countries until finally, he came to the conclusion that the mana was leading toward Antarctica.

He was really unsure whether or not Gaia would actually settle down there, since from what he knew, she didn’t like the cold.

She also didn’t like not being able to grow trees or any other kinds of plants.

Even so, as weird as it was, Rael quickly relayed what he found out to Anna.

“Hmm… I remember her mentioning winter a few times when we were talking,” Anna said.

Rael raised a brow.

“In what context?”

“Hmm… we were talking about places where we could sleep without interruptions. I suppose she mentioned being encased in a block of ice as one of her go-to sleep locations?”

“…”

What a weird conversation.
