Chapter 628: Salty Gamer
Chapter 628: Salty Gamer
As Rael exited the virtual reality pod, he couldn’t help but grimace.
That game sucked.
How could one player get something so overpowered and then become unkillable?
Before he could even continue his rant, a deathly amount of mana suddenly enveloped him, causing his body to stiffen.
Turning his head toward the source, he spotted Vatyra glaring at him from the other virtual pod.
“You bastard!” she yelled. “I thought we were on the same team!”
“Huh? What bullshit are you spouting?” Rael deadpanned. “You literally unloaded an automatic bazooka on me. Had I not been luckier, you would have killed me then and there.”
“Well sure, but after Lilith showed up, I thought you’d have enough common sense to team up and get her!” Vatyra shot back. “But alas, it seems like your dragon brain is too feeble to understand her.”
Ah…
She was just a teeny tiny bit salty, wasn’t she?
“Instead of blaming me, you should blame yourself,” Rael said. “Honestly, if you were just a tad bit better at the game, you might’ve been able to get Lilith. Instead, you’re out here blaming me when you suck.”
Obviously, Rael just hit the trifecta.
A bingo.
But the bingo wasn’t positive.
Instead, the bingo came in the form of Vatyra teleporting in front of him and grabbing him by the collar.
She lifted him up and stared him straight in the eyes.
“Would you be able to repeat what you just said to my face? Hmmm?” Vatyra smiled. “Because I feel like I might’ve misheard you earlier. It almost sounded like you said I suck at games, but that was just me hearing things, right, baby dragon?”
“Nope.” Rael closed his eyes. “You really do suck.”
Just then, he was sent flying through the entire building, only stopping when he reached the stratosphere.
The punch hurt like shit, but it didn’t shave off any of his HP.
Rael glanced back down and saw Vatyra slowly flying toward him.
With her arms crossed, she said, “You really have a loose mouth. Baby dragon, did you forget who’s more powerful here?”
“You really want to fight just because I called you shit at a video game?” Rael raised a brow. “Do you want me to order you a therapist? I can get the best ones money can buy.”
Clearly, she wasn’t entertained by his words.
If anything, it looked like she wanted to kill him on the spot.
However, that feeling faded when the two suddenly felt a pulse of mana coming from the city.
It didn’t belong to Lilith, but it was powerful enough to get their attention.
Is it a Grade 6? Rael thought, confused. That person definitely wasn’t there when I was taking over this world. Just who is this?
Of course, there was only one way to find out.
Rael was the first to fly down, and Vatyra followed right after.
She didn’t seem like someone who would normally intervene, since a Grade 6 was just a slap away from being killed by her, but maybe this time she’d have a change of heart.
After arriving in the city, Rael landed on a rooftop where the energy came from, and to his surprise, he spotted a man adorned in fully black clothes. He had a straw hat over his head, and he had a katana already drawn and pointed at Rael.
It seemed like this man had full intention to fight against Rael.
But Rael was not that rash.
“If you think we’re here to take over this world, we’re not. We’re just here on a dinner date. When we’re done, we’ll just leave,” Rael said.
The man raised his head slightly, then spoke:
“You expect me to believe someone like you does not seek the natural resources and technology this world has to offer?”
“You’d be surprised by the amount of shit I’ve seen in my life,” Rael replied. “Your technology is cool and all, but I know a few worlds where there are no people, only robots. Those things are already way past the limits of your technology.”
“So to answer your question, no. We have no intention to do anything harmful to this world. I just really love the food, and the activities are quite fun too.”
With those words, a moment of silence ensued.
The man lowered his katana, and then sheathed it.
It seemed like he believed Rael’s words.
But then he glanced at Vatyra skeptically.
“Why is a woman so powerful here, then?”
Just as Rael was about to reply, Vatyra spoke instead.
“He already told you we’re here on a date. Now unless you want something more, you can fuck off.”
Yeah…
That probably wasn’t the most subtle way to tell someone off.
But the straw hat guy clearly wasn’t an idiot either.
He recognized just how powerful Vatyra was, that’s why he brought that topic up in the first place.
“In that case… I bid you two… three, a happy date. If there’s anything you wish to gain from our world, I will be forced to stop you.”
“Oh, on that note, just where did you come from, exactly?” Rael asked. “Did you get a distress call or something?”
Of course, the man had no intention to answer Rael, and after kicking off the ground, he vanished into the sky.
Neither of them chased after him, since they didn’t exactly care that much.
If Rael was that curious, he could just slip into the Prophetic Realm and replay this scenario until he figured out just how he came here.
But alas…
I don’t give two shits.
“Anyways… Truce?” Rael offered.
Vatyra scoffed.
“I suppose we can truce until our next battle.”
There won’t be a next battle.
But sure.
Nonetheless, with everything over, the two went back to the shooting range, and after paying someone to fix the wall Vatyra had broken, they waited in front of Lilith’s pod.
It was clear she was going to win.
And of course, after just a few more minutes, her pod opened up, and out came an excited Lilith.
“That was pretty fun.”
