As it turned out, the shooting ranges in these kinds of establishments were just a teeny tiny bit different.

Until Rael spotted some kind of virtual arena where one could play in a battle royale.
That was technology that he had seen back in the sunken temple, except in the sunken temple it wasn’t as realistic as this.
Oh, and yeah, Vatyra and Lilith might or might not have dragged Rael into this virtual reality world.
And now, they were just selecting their loadouts.
They weren’t together currently. Instead, they were a few meters apart in some helicopter. Rael tried to speak, but something prevented him from doing that.
Voice chat’s not enabled, eh? Hahaha.
It was a little silly, but oh well.
The loadouts were a bit simple this time around, since obviously this kind of battle royale was a looter shooter.
He’d need to find some weapons on the ground and then kill others with them.
However, he couldn’t help but feel a little confused.
After the three of them entered the virtual reality world, players began filling up.
Except all those players looked like trained professionals.
He could even see one of them with a badge that signified some importance.
Did they send some kind of special ops team after us?
That wouldn’t be very fun…
Or maybe it would?
He always wanted to 1v1 a special ops officer.
Still, after picking some cheap pistol, Rael adjusted his parachute and leaned back.

When the countdown ended, they’d probably be allowed to jump out.
Rael was going to try, but he also wanted to land where the two of them were landing.

But it seemed like Lilith spoke too soon.
After all, she was considered one of Rael’s wives.

<Zafira Sutekh: Melissa told me to relay a few words to you. She said that you and her will go into a special training program for wives or something of the sort. Apparently, she doesn’t trust you much because you’re a demon. I might’ve made the last part up, but yeah, good luck.>
Lilith’s body stiffened.
Still, she glanced over to Rael as if to seek some kind of help.
But he was also helpless.
His sister wouldn’t even add him to her friend list.
Although he was hurt, Rael sucked it up and gave both Vatyra and Lilith a nod.
He’d land separately then.
Finally, the countdown ended.
In the next instant, the back doors of the helicopter shot open, revealing the sky and the map beneath them.
It was a really big map, honestly enough to fit several thousand players.
In this case though, there were only a few hundred of them squished on this large helicopter.
As expected… not even a single person jumped out yet.
Everyone was just staring at the three of them like hawks.
Rael felt a little uncomfortable since he kind of wished for some normal treatment.
But then again, if three galaxy level threats descended on his innocent planet, then he’d be worried too.
Nonetheless, Vatyra didn’t mind it much as she soon pushed through everyone and jumped out.
Tens of people jumped after her.
Lilith was up next, and even more jumped after her.
But for some reason, the majority of the players were still in the helicopter.
Maybe…
Maybe they were just indecisive?
Right.
That must be the case.
There was no way hundreds of them would jump after him…
That just wouldn’t make sense.
So after waiting a little longer, Rael squeezed through the hundreds of people and eventually arrived right by the exit of the helicopter.
It looked so high up.
It almost sparked his fear of heights.
Still, after taking a deep breath and mustering up the courage, Rael jumped out.
The air whistled past his cheek even more realistically than he expected.
It was like perfect virtual reality.
The pain was real too, but it was heavily reduced.
Still, as Rael continued to drop through cloud after cloud, his vision eventually settled on the ground below.
It really was a beautiful map.
There were a few military bases and even a few Tang dynasty Chinese buildings. He could even see some gothic buildings every now and again.
Maybe the developers added stuff that represented their nation? That would be quite cool.
But still, since I wasn’t too keen on bringing a sword to a gunfight, I was headed straight for the military base.
Just then, a player shot past him on his right.
He wasn’t the only one though, as soon came another, then another.
Tens of players shot past.
They were much faster than Rael.
Much, much faster.
Getting a wary feeling, Rael subtly turned his head.
That little motion twisted his body around, and now he was falling with his back toward the ground.
However, now that he was in this position, he was able to see everyone above him.
And there really was everyone.
Hundreds of players all dropping side by side.
Every single one of them had their eyes set on Rael.
If he didn’t know any better, he’d say all couple hundred were targeting him.
But he was just imagining things… right?
Wrong.
He ditched his military base idea, surprising a few players who were already tumbling toward the ground.
Instead, he began flying straight toward a nearby Chinese Tang dynasty building.
He had cut off a decent portion of the players, but the vast majority were still on his ass.
Anyhow, he needed to land as fast as possible and get a weapon, since dealing with all of them wouldn’t be easy.
