Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 435: Ten Seats

Chapter 435: Ten Seats

“Say… Does the name Milan Ansar ring a bell?”

The moment Rael brought up that question, he felt the air of the entire cathedral turn cold as a deep stench of blood permeated it.

It wasn’t the first time Rael had felt something like this, and it seemed like every single time a powerful person was angry, they only had their bloodlust to turn to.

But alas, to Rael, who had gained an immunity to Insanity and was also someone whose fear effects could affect the surroundings, this pressure was nothing.

However, Melina beside him was a different matter entirely.

Her body trembled as she bit down on her tongue, trying to stay awake, yet her efforts didn’t matter much as within seconds she fell face-first onto the table, passing out.

And that was when the pressure finally stopped, followed by Adam slamming his hand down on the table, breaking it in two.

A moment later, Adam stood up, pushed aside the debris in front of Rael, then grabbed him by the collar.

He lifted Rael up and stared menacingly into his eyes, all the while Rael stared back at him calmly.

And to make sure Adam knew Rael was being serious, Rael decided to read his outer thoughts.

[Milan… How does he know that name?]

[Could he be one of the Blazing Sun bastard spies? No… Claudius wouldn’t make a blunder like that.]

[Is he related to Solenne… Hm? Are you reading my mind?]

“I am,” Rael replied with a chuckle. “No, I’m not a spy, and I sure as shit am not related to Solenne. I can read your mind because of my special abilities, and the way I know Milan’s name is…”

Rael smiled. “I think you’re Milan, and the friend you’re looking for is Alcetas Audagar.”

With that, the two stared at each other without saying a word, but from the faint trembling of Adam’s hand, Rael knew he might be on to something, especially after realizing that one could change their name so long as some sort of requirements were met.

“Though… sleeping with Solenne is a little…” Rael paused, noticing Adam’s conflicted expression.

“You know, I’m getting the feeling that despite you knowing who Solenne truly was, you still loved her.”

Adam eased his grip on Rael’s collar, letting him down gently.

After that, he closed his eyes and let out a sigh before finally speaking.

“You know much more than you care to let on, especially for someone cosplaying as a weakling,” Adam remarked in a calm tone. “You know about Alcetas, and you know about me. How do you know about me? Alcetas was the only friend I had in the past until the Blazing Sun faction took him… I never spoke to anyone after that.”

So he really is Milan? Huh… I guess my instincts are on point. Rael smirked and then tapped his own forehead.

“I deal with stuff relating to the mind, so I was able to see you two in the past. You stole your sister’s magic wand and then used it on the Blazing Sun envoy,” Rael recalled. “You two then ran away, and your fellow villagers helped stall for time while you escaped with the branded Alcetas.”

Rael thought about that moment and then continued. “You ran away to Alcetas’s house, and after that, I’m not sure. The memory ended there.”

Of course, that was the moment Solenne invaded the dreams, giving Rael no choice but to leave.

However, that wasn’t something he was going to tell Adam, as that might just complicate things.

So, having said everything Rael had to say, he waited for Adam to process what he had just said.

“I see… So you didn’t see Prince Zander of the Avalon Kingdom waiting at Alcetas’s house, did you?” Adam asked with a distant chuckle. “I figured there might be a way to recover those memories, but alas, they are not real. None of the Ten Seats are real, or whatever they call themselves nowadays.”

“Not real?” Rael tilted his head. “Also, it’s the Five Seats now, not Ten.”

Adam shook his head. “Doesn’t matter how many there are now. What matters is that they are mere puppets of Solenne. She, just like you, is able to control the mind to a certain extent. She can also bestow certain traits of her power to the Ten… Five Seats.”

“Considering there are so few now, the Five Seats must be at least Grade 6 in power, correct?” Adam asked.

Rael nodded. “Alcetas is nearly as strong as you. As for the others, they are slightly weaker.”

“Hmm… How troublesome…” Adam rubbed his temples, then continued. “When Alcetas and I arrived at his home, Prince Zander cut my limbs off and threw me into the giant vegetable garden… but Alcetas wasn’t so lucky. He was kidnapped and taken to the grand cathedral of the Blazing Sun religion.”

Adam clenched his fists. “That was where all the experiments were conducted, and that is also where Solenne herself harvested the memories of all those captured.”

He took a few steps backward, heading toward a dark space in the cathedral.

Rael glanced back at Melina, then followed after him.

“They were turned into reusable pawns, where with only a single touch, their memories could be implanted into any living being in the universe,” Adam said with a dark look, and then stopped.

Rael hadn’t noticed it before, but there was a pitch-black door in this seemingly normal cathedral, and it was radiating a very malicious energy that made him repulsed just by being near it.

Yet Adam didn’t seem to mind it in the slightest as he placed his hand on the pitch-black door, and then, out of nowhere, he took out Claudius’s katana before finally stabbing through the door.

Instead of parting the metal, he twisted the katana, and the door soon opened as though the katana were a key.

But the sight that was revealed on the inside was nothing short of alarming.

“This is…”
