Chapter 4495: White Marsh

"The energies may be mild, but still extremely dangerous. Enough, that it could kill you," I said to her as I withdrew an invisible strong from white marsh.

The other marsh pools around it are green, but this one is white, marked by the laws of lightning, earth, and healing.

It is not as violent as those around it, but it is highly concentrated. If this combination had been violent. I would have called getting inside a suicide.

"I will be careful," she said and stepped inside it. As she did, she removed her cloak and armor.

The environment is dangerous enough to kill her without armor, but inside, one could stay without protection. There is a field around it.

So, even if some part is out, it will not be harmed by the violent energies.

Still, it is not all sunshine; Dynvar immediately gritted her teeth. It is excruciating; staying inside every minute is a challenge in itself

I watched her for nearly a minute before the cloak disappeared, and I stepped inside.

Another hour passed. When suddenly, I opened my eyes. There was a monster, not far away from us.

It didn’t sense us; we are entirely inside the marsh, and the energy of it is cloaking us, but the monster is barely two meters away and is very powerful.

I don’t want to get entangled in something like this, but I’ve made myself ready.

If it attacks, I push this energy away, summon my armor, and activate my shield. I will have to do it very fast; a moment slower and I will get killed.

I want to do it immediately, but I didn’t want to make any move that would alert the snake to our presence.

The monster didn’t leave; it stayed. Which made me want to curse, but I waited patiently. Ready to act, the moment the snake made its move.

Minutes passed, and then another, and another; a total of seventeen minutes passed before the snake finally moved.

"It nearly scared me," she said. She had sensed it too; it’s hard not to sense the monster was barely a meter away from them. It was closer to her than me.

"It left. There is no need to worry about it," I replied. She nodded with hesitation and relaxed.

I relaxed as well and focused on the energy, but half of my focus remained on the area around us. I need to be ready for anything that comes.

Five and a half hours passed before I finally opened my eyes and got out of the marsh.

I had gotten all the benefits I could. Staying more would have harmed me instead of helping me. As for Dynvar, it might take her a few more hours before she comes out.
