Chapter 748: Arrogance Vs Dominance

A surprising silence falls over the battlefield in front of Zimograd; thousands of soldiers from both the city and the attacking army are shocked by this scene...

Most of the soldiers around Ludmila, Svetlana, and Artem had already stopped fighting to watch the battle between their leaders.

But everyone else also halts when a mysterious figure descends from the sky and lands between the army leaders.

"Demons?!" Lucien’s horns and his overall ’diabolical’ appearance lead everyone to think he is a high demon, something they’re sure about when they see Lust.

But his large wings also remind them of high dragons, leaving everyone confused.

Yet, as always, the most striking thing about Lucien and Lust at first sight is their appearance.

Given the nature of the Dark Elves, they can be considered a very beautiful and attractive people in almost every corner of the universe, which makes them quite proud of themselves.

But no Dark Elf watching Lucien now can feel that they are the most attractive people; he simply changes the entire concept of beauty, especially for the women.

"Who..." Svetlana’s eyes shine; she is certainly one of the most coveted women among her people, but upon seeing Lucien, she feels that no other man is worthy of her admiration.

Ludmila also cannot hide a certain quick glimmer in her eyes fixed on Lucien, and she too draws his attention more than any other Dark Elf around.

Lucien begins to raise his hands while opening a friendly smile, but then he notices Ludmila’s gaze quickly shift direction and her expression becomes concerned.

With all his instincts activated, Lucien immediately understands what catches the attention of the beautiful, mature Dark Elf; it’s a male Elf behind him, preparing an arrow.

Ludmila doesn’t know anything about Lucien yet, but his friendly smile, albeit somewhat arrogant, gives her a good feeling about him.

So, acting on instinct, she tries to warn him of the imminent attack from Artem. "Careful!!"

But Lucien doesn’t even turn around...

Artem, not wanting to lose the element of surprise, shoots an arrow charged with all his power.

*Whoosh*

*Boom!*

The arrow creates a large magical explosion near Lucien, but after the flash of light, everyone can see he is unharmed while a purple barrier, obviously the work of Lust, protects him.

Lucien’s and Lust’s aura could already be felt by the elves closest to them, but when she uses her energy to create a shield right in front of everyone, they feel an incredible pressure.

Ludmila is almost certain that they are in the early stages of the Immortal Realm, which is true, but such pressure could only be generated by someone almost in the Cosmic Realm, leaving her shocked and confused.

Lucien smiles even more amiably at her, before turning his attention to the male elf.

He is well aware of his tendency to charm women and create enmities with men, so he tries to be as cordial as possible.

"I am not your enemy," Lucien speaks slowly, unsure of how much the Dark Elves understand his language, despite Lust having mentioned that it is a rather generic language in the Seven Stars.

"I doubt that," Artem responds hostilely without lowering his bow.

He is surprised that Lust’s shield easily blocked his magical arrow, but he is confident that an army of Sky Realm elves with hundreds in the Immortal Realm could take down the mysterious demon.

Lucien is unsure how to deal with a man’s hostility; he can see many paths to dealing with the beautiful elven lady, but his methods of persuasion don’t work on men, or rather, he is not willing to use them on men.𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Look," he tries to think of something, but Artem starts to charge another arrow. "Really..."

Lucien doesn’t mind killing those who stand in his way, but he understands that he can’t just appear out of nowhere and demand people obey him, especially when his intention is to help them.

Artem is a soldier and loyal to his Queen, both of which blind him, making him always look forward. And now, right in front of him is a treacherous demon, an enemy without a doubt.

So, he charges his next arrow with even more energy while casting a quick glance at Svetlana.

She understands Artem’s intention based solely on the look, meaning to attack the mage creating the shield, i.e., Lust.

Like everyone else, Svetlana is quite confused about what’s happening, but she is willing to take down Lucien and Lust before starting to ask questions.

Lucien’s senses are becoming increasingly impressive, and he can see the quick exchange of glances between the elves in slow motion, as well as analyze every movement they make, every breath, every muscle contraction...

"You don’t want to do this," Lucien says calmly, raising his hands.

However, his words don’t calm the blue army’s elves; in fact, Lucien’s voice combined with his aura is extremely dominant, even though that’s not his intention.

Artem refuses to let a demon interrupt his moment of glory and dictate his actions, so he gives the signal to Svetlana.

"NOW!!" He shouts and fires the magic arrow, loaded with much of his energy.

The arrow flies towards Lucien and Lust, but Artem doesn’t stop and leaps towards them, launching more arrows in rapid succession.

Svetlana hesitates for a second, but seeing Artem leap towards the mysterious figures, she also acts.

She runs towards them, circling from the opposite side to Artem to attack both flanks and break the barrier.

Everything happens very quickly, and Ludmila can barely follow the pair of agile elves, but Lucien sees everything in slow motion.

He sighs before reacting, dashing towards Svetlana and grabbing her wrist as she makes a horizontal attack move with her sword.

"HUH!?!" Svetlana is very surprised to see her target disappear while she’s in the middle of such a rapid movement and then feels the warm, firm touch of Lucien.

Before she can understand what’s happening, Lucien pulls the young elf into his arms and turns towards Artem.

He expects to see the male elf lower his bow, but still in the air, Artem grimaces before maintaining his barrage of arrows, now aimed at both Lucien and Svetlana.

"NO!!" Svetlana is shocked to see Artem continue the attack, which would now injure her as well.

Lucien, on the other hand, isn’t shocked by Artem’s indifference to his partner’s safety; he would have liked to make both stop, but since Artem seems not to care about his partner, Lucien doesn’t mind being rougher with him.

Svetlana, however, panics when she sees Artem’s arrows flying towards her. She tries to free herself from Lucien’s grasp, but he feels as sturdy as a giant mountain.

As she wonders if this will be her end, Lucien surprises her again by turning their bodies and creating a cocoon with his large wings.

*BAM-BOOOM!!!*

Artem’s arrows hit Lucien’s back as Lust doesn’t create a barrier at his request.

Several consecutive attacks create waves of light, and when Artem lands on the ground, exhausted after using almost all his energy, the sight of Lucien perfectly unharmed strikes him like lightning to the heart.

"NO-SHIT!!?" The reckless elf is as incredulous at the scene as everyone else watching.

But above all, the most surprised person is certainly Svetlana.

The young elf is curled up defensively and opens her eyes after feeling no pain, then looks up to see Lucien’s devilishly handsome face.

He is smiling at her while using his large wings and strong arms to envelop her safely.

"Ehhhhhh-" She doesn’t know what to say, her body is experiencing various sensations, some new, and others at levels completely different from the usual, leaving her mind in chaos.

A second ago, she thought she was going to be severely struck by her partner, but now she feels safer than ever in Lucien’s arms.

"He’s so warm... and this scent is so... wonderful!!!" Svetlana thinks as she looks up at Lucien.

"Are you okay?" He asks in a gentle and friendly tone, causing her heart to race.

"Ah... I... ehhh..." Svetlana feels as though she has lost the ability to think in complete sentences.

She doesn’t know what comes next, but she’s very eager to find out.

Meanwhile, Lust rolls her eyes, and Ludmila is unable to form any opinion about the mysterious Handsome Devil.

And Artem, of course, is freaking out.
