Chapter 1906 - 1916: At Least He Succeeded
Chapter 1906: Chapter 1916: At Least He Succeeded
As for exactly how to do it, he’ll figure it out slowly.
He changed the subject, "By the way, Terry told me today that you called him in the middle of the night to ask how to apologize after a fight."
"Damn, why did you ask him? He’s only been in love once, what does he know? You should have asked me."
Baron Lawrence glanced at him coolly and said bluntly, "At least he succeeded."
Adam Sinclair felt like he’d been stabbed in the chest, almost frustrated to the point of internal bleeding, but he managed to maintain the appearance of a noble young master, responding with a forced smile, "You talk as if you’ve succeeded."
Baron gave him a sideways glance, his mood delightfully lifting the corner of his lips, "I’m almost there."
"What do you mean?"
Adam had been so stressed about Olivia Lewis’s situation lately that he hadn’t had time to catch up on the gossip outside. He was still stuck on the fact that Baron Lawrence and Enna Clark had broken up. So seeing the domineering man looking so proud all of a sudden, he was taken aback.
Baron, in a good mood, couldn’t even bother to argue with him. After all, in his eyes, Adam was the most down-and-out right now, so he simply and bluntly boasted, "I’m getting married."
"What?"
From breaking up to getting married, the leap was a bit much, and Adam suspected his ears had deceived him.
Wasn’t it just a few days ago that Baron was drinking with him, saying he and Enna Clark had broken up?
How did it suddenly turn into him getting married?
In his extreme shock, his brain short-circuited, and he asked a foolish question, "To whom?"
Damn it! Whom did he think he would marry! Besides Enna Clark, would he marry anyone else? Baron shot him an annoyed look and said, "Enna Clark."
Adam realized as soon as he said it that he had asked a silly question, but truly hearing that answer from him left him utterly shocked, almost jumping up from his hospital bed, "You and Enna are getting married? What’s the situation? Weren’t you two broken up? How suddenly are you getting married?"
"Wait, does the Old Master know? Are you planning to keep it hidden like last time? I think in Country W it might be a bit hard to keep a hidden marriage from the Old Master."
"Who said I’m keeping it from the Old Man?"
Adam was astonished, "You’re not hiding it from Old Master Lawrence, how are you going to get married?"
Baron, in high spirits, enunciated slowly, "Of course, by announcing to the world that Enna Clark and I are getting married!"
If everyone doesn’t know, how can he ensure that Lyle Westbrook is aware?
So, he’s going to have a grand wedding.
Besides making everyone envious of Enna Clark, he wanted those pursuing her to see clearly that she was now a married woman.
Adam was a bit bewildered by his words, but Adam himself wasn’t dumb. It was just his preconceived notions that led him around in circles. He quickly caught on and said in surprise, "Your Old Master has accepted Enna Clark?"
"The Old Man never denied it in the first place."
Adam wanted to argue that back then he was forced to break up with Enna by the Old Master Lawrence using family discipline, and that doesn’t count as opposition?
But seeing Baron so happy, he was genuinely happy for his friend, "Haha, you guys are really getting married? When? Have you decided on the Best Man yet?"
"In thirteen days."
The Old Man had already picked a date, thirteen days later. He was very satisfied with this timing, though sooner would be even better.
But sooner might mean the wedding dress wouldn’t be ready in time.
So, thirteen days is fine.
He can wait thirteen days.
"So soon?" Adam obviously didn’t think so, blurting out.
Baron sat casually, crossing his legs comfortably on the sofa, saying lazily, "Thirteen days is about right, just enough time to arrange the venue, roses, and wedding dress."
Adam knew Baron was eager to make Enna Clark the legitimate Mrs. Lawrence and laughed sincerely, "If there’s anything I can help with, just let me know."
