Infinite Awakening: My Exp Doubles Everyday

Chapter 296: Research [PART 1]

The light clone sorted through the vast collection of herbs that had been purified through Yin Yang Harmony, carefully examining each.

Some of the herbs had indeed been beyond saving, their spiritual essence so thoroughly corrupted by the prolonged exposure to demonic energy and other external factors that even the divine ability couldn’t restore them to their original state.

However, while some of the herbs had been beyond saving, some had undergone some rather interesting transformations, mutating into fascinating new variants that possessed entirely different properties from their original forms. Kind of like he had done with the midnight flower.

This was primarily due to the uncontrolled nature of the demonic energy – different herbs had been exposed to the demonic energy in varying degrees and durations, thus the different results.

Those that had been exposed to just the right amount of demonic energy had evolved into different variants, often displaying their opposites or completely new effects that could prove incredibly valuable, especially so for creating a cure for the corruption caused by the demon lotus.

Xiang Yu was deeply intrigued by these discoveries and decided to conduct extensive research on the matter. If he could understand the exact conditions required to produce specific mutations – the precise amount of energy exposure, the duration of treatment, the type of corruption applied – he could potentially create incredibly useful variants on demand. The possibilities were endless.

Even more exciting was the prospect of experimenting with light element energy instead of demonic corruption. If this could also produce beneficial mutations in herbs, he could hardly imagine the sort of things he might be able to create. And if he could somehow combine both approaches, it would be like opening up a whole new world.

Meanwhile, the metal clone and the OG wind clone were having a field day examining all the other items. Xiang Yu was particularly excited about the extensive collection of spirit metals, his mind already racing with ideas for creating incredibly powerful weapons. The quality and variety of materials available far exceeded anything he had ever worked with before and he couldn’t wait to heat it up.

As for the weapons that had been stored inside the tower, they were mostly low-level and the majority had suffered significant damage. Rather than letting these resources go to waste, Xiang Yu decided to melt down the damaged weapons and convert them into raw spirit metal for future projects. For the rest that at least had some semblance of qi, they would be fed to the spirit vein.

Another category of items that particularly caught Xiang Yu’s eye were the space and time crystals. With these rare materials, he could theoretically craft space and time treasures.

Although he felt excited about this, he eventually decided to hold off on using them for now. Instead, he would wait until his blacksmithing profession reached Heavenly Grade level, at which point he could use them to create a super ultra OP weapon.

There were also spirit crystals and soul crystals, both primarily used for cultivation purposes. Soul crystals were for cultivating the soul, while spirit crystals were used for qi cultivation.

Soul crystals could also be incorporated into formations for reinforcement or to enable soul-based attack methods, but since Xiang Yu was already using his own soul energy for these purposes (which also provides soul experience) he saw no immediate need to use the crystals and decided to save them for a rainy day.

As for the spirit crystals, they were essentially higher level spirit stones and could also power formations. However, since he already possessed a substantial quantity of high-grade spirit stones (courtesy of Liu Feng), there was no need to use them for this.

In fact, Xiang Yu had developed an intriguing idea for putting the spirit crystals to much better use. One particularly interesting property of spirit crystals was that they were rechargeable, capable of absorbing and storing spiritual energy from their environment over time. This characteristic sparked a brilliant concept in his mind.

If he could use spirit crystals to power the flying treasures he intended to create for his business, and then inscribe qi-gathering runes directly onto the crystals, wouldn’t the crystals be able to constantly recharge themselves by drawing spiritual energy from the environment?

The main Xiang Yu was in deep thought as he examined the bloodline essences in his hands.

There were quite a few bloodlines that he found interesting, but Xiang Yu had no real desire to acquire them for himself. Most of the bloodlines were either legendary level or below, with only the dragon and phoenix bloodlines at the mythical level.

He had hoped that since the demon god was a “god” he would have some divine level bloodlines but it seemed he was dreaming too much.

While some of the legendary bloodlines possessed unique and interesting abilities, they simply couldn’t compare to what he already possessed.

Even then, they were still useful but the primary reason he felt no particular interest in inheriting these lesser bloodlines was because his dragon and phoenix bloodlines had already completely saturated his entire body. If he attempted to introduce any new bloodline into his body, his existing bloodlines would immediately devour the newcomer before it could establish itself properly.

Technically, he could work around this limitation by using his void flame to isolate a specific portion of his body, creating a protected space where a new bloodline could take root. However, this approach struck him as a huge waste of valuable resources.

He would essentially be sacrificing prime real estate that could be used for the ongoing battle between his dragon and phoenix bloodlines, just to accommodate a bloodline that would start at the thin blood stage with virtually no hope of advancement.

The dragon and phoenix bloodlines were mortal enemies by nature, which meant their constant conflict naturally stimulated both to evolve and grow stronger over time. A solitary bloodline lacking this form of pressure would remain stagnant.

Another possibility he had considered was distributing these bloodline essences to his clones. Although this approach could theoretically work, it would essentially create the same fundamental problem – the clones would receive only thin blood level bloodlines with no efficient method for advancement. Unless he was willing to invest massive quantities of additional bloodline essence to force their evolution, which he definitely wasn’t.

These bloodline essences would prove far more valuable if distributed among the sect members instead.

As for equipping his clones with bloodlines, he already had a better plan for that.

When his own bloodlines eventually reached pure blood level, he would gain the ability to naturally condense bloodline essence. At that point, he could provide each clone with noble blood level essence for both dragon and phoenix bloodlines simultaneously.

The two bloodlines would continue their conflict within the clones’ bodies, eventually driving each other to evolve toward pure blood status. Once the clones achieved pure blood level themselves, they could begin producing noble blood essences for distribution to sect members, creating truly OP sect members.

Apart from the bloodline essences, another item he found interesting was the beast core. Beast cores functioned somewhat like golden cores for human cultivators. They were specialized organs that magical beasts used to store and circulate qi for cultivation purposes. However, not all beasts possessed these cores, as they were typically reserved for high-level beasts that had achieved significant cultivation advancement.

Xiang Yu thought that this could work really well with his bloodline idea. These cores were specifically optimized to work with creatures that absorbed spiritual energy through their skin rather than through spiritual roots, which was exactly how his clones would operate once they received the bloodlines.

If he could successfully refine these beast cores and implant them into his clones, then provide them with noble blood level bloodlines as he had planned, wouldn’t the clones finally be able to cultivate?
