Chapter 3612: Tournament
Chapter 3612: Tournament

The next day.
The Martial Apex Tournament officially began.
The dueling arena was set in a space above Dimensional Emperor Island, specially opened for the tournament.
Eighty-eight white-robed elders jointly formed a defensive barrier outside the dueling space, sealing off a vast central region of the galaxy.
Around the dueling space, viewing zones had been arranged.
Observers from eight dimensional districts, each under a Realm Venerable, positioned themselves at different viewing zones.
The Martial Apex Tournament was a grand event in the dimensional world.
Every time it was held, it attracted a large number of martial artists. Even before the battles began, the spectator zones were already filled, echoing with cheers and noise.
An elder in a black robe appeared in the center of the battlefield.
Then, two dueling martial artists entered through teleportation passages.
Fang Heng floated slowly in midair, hiding his face beneath his hood, and looked up toward the snake-bodied, human-headed Ice Witch, Feng Tiya.
The sea monster’s body was surrounded by a faint spatial fluctuation, as if it could merge into space at any moment.
Feng Tiya focused her gaze on Fang Heng as well, a hint of seduction at the corner of her eyes.
Phoenix Realm Venerable observed Fang Heng from the high viewing area, wearing a contemplative expression.
Beside him, an assistant of the God Clan stepped forward and nodded. "Sir, Tiger Venerable has refused to reveal the name of Martial Artist number seventy-seven. He must be hiding something."
"Tiger Venerable simply wants to please the Realm Venerable. No rush. No matter how much he hides it, we will find out eventually," Phoenix said calmly, then asked, "Has the investigation into Ravi’s death been completed?"
"We conducted some inquiries. Gideon has been training in the tower the whole time, so Ravi’s death should be unrelated to him. I suspect someone holding a grudge against Gideon impersonated him to kill Ravi."
The assistant hesitated before asking, "Should we cancel the pursuit of Gideon?"
"No need. Rumors already claim it was Gideon. If we don’t eliminate him, what credibility would the God Clan have? Wouldn’t the world think that anyone who attacks our clan can escape freely?"
Phoenix said coldly, "Moreover, the visible pursuit will paralyze the true mastermind, making them relax, believing we are deceived by appearances."
"We will find that person. They cannot escape."
"Yes, Realm Venerable."
Phoenix slowly lifted his head, looking at Fang Heng in the center of the battlefield, murmuring, "A martial artist capable of necromancy hasn’t appeared in a long time. He is likely connected to the Dark Clan."
Not far away, in another section of the stands, Tiger Venerable gathered with two other Beast Clan Realm Venerables, quietly discussing as usual.
"Not easy, another year of the Martial Apex Tournament."
An elder with a dark turtle pattern on his back sighed, "The dimensional world is not that large. The Outer World may be vast, but most are too weak. Finding a good talent isn’t easy. After much effort, we can barely find one worth cultivating. This year, it’s mostly familiar faces. I guess the Dimensional Emperor will be displeased again."
"Exactly. I’ve been out for over a hundred years, and haven’t seen a single one worth noting," said a middle-aged member of the Leopard Clan. "Tiger Venerable, your luck is good. Talents come to you while you stay home. I heard you didn’t even spare the God Clan’s face for that necromancy boy. That must be the one currently in the arena. Seems pretty good."
"Humph."
Tiger Venerable felt annoyed, pouted, and said, "Don’t complain to me. You’re glad I had a falling out with the God Clan, aren’t you?"
"What are you saying?" said the Leopard Venerable, "Our Orc Clan is weak; we won’t fight our own first. Don’t worry, if you clash with the God Clan, we’ll back you."
"Cut it out. I’m not planning to go against the God Clan."
Tiger Venerable didn’t fall for it and added, "You two shouldn’t pretend in front of me. Even if you didn’t find suitable new talents, you spent a lot of effort on the old ones. Those new ones can’t even survive one round against the veterans."
"Different, different..."
Mystic Turtle Venerable shook his head repeatedly, eyes scanning the viewing zones. "We all know the Dimensional Emperor loves cultivating new talent. And a newcomer with necromancy will surely impress the Emperor. No wonder among all these people, you are the one who pleases him the most."
"Hahaha, same joy, same joy."
Tiger Venerable laughed heartily, feeling pleased.
Luck cannot be stopped when it comes.
Fang Heng, this young man, had appeared out of nowhere. He was a fusion of the Ouroboros and Titan clans, already strong, and possessed rare necromancy.
Letting him appear in the Martial Apex Tournament would show the Emperor the talent he had picked, guaranteeing praise.
As for the future grievances between Fang Heng and the God Clan... that could wait.
The Leopard Venerable looked at the battlefield. "Tiger Venerable, are you confident in this boy’s strength, sending him directly against Feng Tiya? The sea monster’s abilities might counter the Seed of Ouroboros."
Tiger Venerable fell silent for a moment.
It was Fang Heng’s idea to face the sea monster empress.
He didn’t know if Fang Heng had any hidden strategy against the sea monster, but since he volunteered, he must have some confidence.
Whatever.
Fang Heng was a foundling.
Letting him appear before the Dimensional Emperor was enough to complete the task. How far he advanced in the tournament... one round at a time.
Tiger Venerable pursed his lips. He spoke with his usual confidence. "This boy is proud by nature. Let him chew on a tough opponent first. Worst case, he loses. It’s a chance to temper his temper. Next tournament, he can try again."
He didn’t have high hopes for Fang Heng.
Once disciplines advance to Super-God level, a martial artist’s lifespan increases dramatically.
At Fang Heng’s age, he could still participate in dozens of Martial Apex Tournaments. There was no rush.
If Fang Heng truly survived the God Clan’s conflicts, they could cultivate him later at leisure.
As the tournament began, a death aura slowly emanated from Fang Heng, a dark energy spreading across the dueling field, hiding his figure in a thick ghostly fog.
Death Domain.
Such a domain had never been seen before.
Feng Tiya looked at the black fog, sharply sensing the death aura within. A strong oppressive feeling rose in her chest, her expression turning serious.
This opponent was very strong.
"Sha la la la la!"
Fang Heng launched the attack first, striking from within the black fog. Pure black chains shot out simultaneously toward Feng Tiya.
