Xiao Chong cut a big slice of cake for Zhang Lingyan, and she happily swayed away on her high heels.

The birthday party went on until nearly ten before it finally broke up. The roommates of the hosts all headed back to campus together, and of course the birthday girl stayed over.
The hired chef and his assistant had long since cleaned up the kitchen and table after dinner and left; afterwards they’d just been snacking on dried foods, cake, and various drinks and alcohol.
When the lively crowd dispersed, Xiao Chong said to Lin Wanwan, "Wanwan, you reek of alcohol, why don’t you go take a bath?"
"Mm." Lin Wanwan answered softly, and very naturally went to the cloakroom to grab her change of clothes and headed to the master bath with the jacuzzi.

Xiao Chong had also taken a shower in the other bathroom and was now sitting on the single armchair by the bedroom balcony, reading.
When he saw Lin Wanwan come out, he snapped the book shut and his gaze followed her as she moved.

"I want to look at you." Xiao Chong stood up, his deep eyes fixed heavily on her, full of pressure, making her feel like there was nowhere to run.
He walked up to her, scooped her up, and laid her down on the big bed in the master bedroom.
Outside, the wind was howling against the windows as another cold front swept in, but inside, the temperature kept rising.
Blushing, Lin Wanwan burrowed into the covers and told Xiao Chong to turn off the lights.
But Xiao Chong said, "I want to see you."
From under the covers, Lin Wanwan said, "No, turn them off."
