Chapter 5207: End Of Desolation
Chapter 5207: End Of Desolation
Davis had managed to enter the state of focus, which he could now tell was the Elementary Intent of Phyletic Laws of Scythe. This did not stray much from the other Phyletic Laws of Armaments, like the Imposing Sword Laws. After all, Sword Focus was the Elementary Intent of Imposing Sword Laws.
Following the same thread of logic, he decided to name the Elementary Intent of Phyletic Laws of Scythe as Scythe Focus.
As for Level One Obscure Intent of Phyletic Laws of Scythe, he had little idea as to what it was. It was like understanding instinctively, yet being unable to teach a class. He couldn’t get his tongue out to explain, nor place his finger on it literally. It was shrouded in obscurity, but when he unleashed it, it wasn’t the case, as he felt like he could reap anything he wanted, reap all energy, reap all vitality, reap all benefits, even if he wasn’t the one to sow it.
But what about the Level Two Obscure Intent of Phyletic Laws of Scythe? The Obscure Intent that sat above that and could be as powerful as the Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws due to its foundations interfering with the balance of the universe?
Davis felt like he always had an inkling about this, as he could see where the Intents were climbing in progression.
Even to Yama, he had always advised that reaping wasn’t just plundering but also harvesting.
[Remember, it is good to remember what a scythe was originally used for. It was used to cut down the crops, ending life, and to reap the harvest, aiding life. That one action encompasses both life and death.]
He had mentioned it to Yama time and time again, but he was lazy, not bothering to comprehend, nor did he take it out much unless he was training. After all, the enemies he fought could break Yama in one move. And Yama wouldn’t bother thinking about sowing life when it could just kill, kill, and kill.
Regardless, what would happen if he used the same principles of life and death? What if he used the scythe to reap something he had sown? Or rather, he was the reason for being sowed?
Davis’s eyes snapped open at that moment, revealing an otherworldly glint.
Enigmatic Heart Laws flooded into the Phyletic Laws of Scythe, the two forces twisting together like smoke and flame, refusing to separate. His comprehension of life bled into his comprehension of death, and death bled back into life, until the scythe in his grip felt less like a weapon and more like a wheel turning into a swirl of samsara.
"Second Style, Cycle of Harvest!"
Davis roared into the skies as he spun with incredible momentum, drawing a full-arc crescent in the sky.
Black and white scythe energy tore free of the arc, becoming a blade of scythe intent that split the storm clouds apart, screaming toward the crimson crystal, and for one breathless moment, the heavens themselves seemed to peel open, baring a clean field of stars beyond the crimson crystal.
The crimson crystal hanging in the skies shuddered as the crescent arc looked like it was going to split it open, especially when Heaven’s Will appeared to have significantly weakened after Jaiyan’s attack, as though its shields were shattered.
The hairline crack at its heart lurched violently outward, racing all the way to the crystal’s edges in an instant. However, it seemed to only scratch a few meters into the surface, even though it had bitten all the way into the vast nine-meter mass, making Davis’s pupils contract.
He expected more cracks to appear bit by bit, but it had stopped, looking like his technique to reverse the Desolate Era had failed.
Having spent nearly all of his psyche in that one new move, he could’ve sworn he had reached Level Two Obscure Intent of Phyletic Laws of Scythe for a mere second, but it seemed like it wasn’t the case, as it was nothing but his imagination.
It had failed. His technique had failed, and in essence, he had also failed.
It wasn’t enough. His comprehension was still lacking, not enough for the technique to get into Level Two Obscure Intent of Phyletic Laws of Scythe, where he needed it to be for this attack to work, for the attack to change the seasons the Heavens had imposed upon it.
However, Davis didn’t wallow in despair as lips suddenly curled.
So what if his technique had failed? He was prepared for this failure from the moment he hatched his initial plan, much less the current modified plan.
He knew it would come to this from the moment he set out, so he heaved a cold breath and began speaking to no one, his gaze twitching.
"The Heavens and the Universe wanted the Desolate Divergent dead, but a part of the universe is in jeopardy with the Desolate Divergent being unable to be destroyed even by a Supreme Ruler. The Desolate Divergent’s attempts to reverse the Desolate Era had nearly failed, but the Universe couldn’t digest waiting any longer. A part of it is rotting, and it knows because the Will above it deemed that place to be unnecessary and disposable. However, the Universe wants nothing more than to be healthy, so it decides that restoring the heaven and earth energy by aiding the Cycle of Harvest is in its... best interests..."
Having said everything in one go, Davis’s ghostly pupils returned to normal, but his energy seemed to have weakened so much. He looked more pale and transparent as though he was going to disappear.
However, his senses weren’t on his spectral body, and neither was his gaze. His gaze never wavered from the crimson crystal amidst the clear night skies.
The cracks on the crimson crystal radiated with a faint glow of scythe intent, remaining on it like a plague as though it would never let the crystal mend easily, but suddenly, the scythe intent began glowing with a dark yellowish light.
*Crackkack!~ *Crrrrkkk!~*
New fractures started to appear across the crimson crystal, enveloping it from bottom to top, faster and hungrier as though it was guided by a strange hand.
*Zuummm!~*
The world began to rumble, and the realm below began to shake heavily, causing countless people in the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm to cry out in terror!
The Celestial Transcendent and the others’ expressions changed.
The consequences were here!
Davis was in a free fall, plummeting through the layers of dark crimson clouds and lightning that had been sent flying from his scythe technique. The sky seemed to be unraveling around him as he looked at the breaking crimson crystal without averting his gaze. He couldn’t control himself as he felt heavier than a star right now, as though he was bearing the weight of the entire galaxy.
But even as everything around him was falling apart, his insidious smile never left the lips of his Ghost Will.
’Heavens - do you know? Sometimes, the body doesn’t fucking listen to its own Will. Hehe...’
"Hehe-hehaahahaha!"
The laughter tore out of his mouth as he started laughing manically in an unrestrained manner when the crimson crystal abruptly went-
*Bang!~*
The crimson crystal exploded into countless shards, and at the same time-
*Pssshh!~*
A gigantic ocean’s worth of heaven and earth energy was released from the shattered crystals.
*Rumble!~~~*
Simultaneously, above the ruined crystal, a tsunami of purple-white cloud unfurled outward like vast wings, spreading wide enough to blanket the entire realm beneath it.
It locked someone within its range, and a plummeting spectral body came to a stop mid-air.
Davis opened his eyes as he saw a piece of crimson crystal falling down slowly as though it was still supported by the Heaven’s Will, although it was very weak and honestly, neglected.
However, his gaze wasn’t on it as he saw the scene above it, purple-white clouds swirling everywhere into a purple-gold vortex at the center.
"Heavenly Life Tribulation...!"
The Celestial Transcendent’s eyes went wide as he witnessed this inconceivable scene. However, he was far more confused than shocked since he couldn’t understand why this tribulation was here when Davis wasn’t even undergoing the Exalt Stage Heavenly Tribulation!
After all, the size and scale of this tribulation seemed to be at the layer limit or even the World Hegemon scale! He couldn’t tell for sure, but the fact that this occurred meant that something acknowledged Davis had inevitably saved quadrillions of people not only in this realm but also the entirety of the sixteen Upper Realms!
’This... the universe is acting without Heaven’s Will...?’
The Celestial Transcendent saw that this tribulation didn’t carry the Heaven’s Will, but it was still undoubtedly the Heavenly Life Tribulation. In fact, he sensed Heaven’s Will receding from this place as though it couldn’t be bothered to watch anymore.
There wasn’t even realm-terrorizing wrath from the heavens left in this place.
This sudden silence shook his heart, making him think if the heavens decided to abandon not just this realm but the galaxy altogether.
*Rumble!!!~*
However, another thundering sound echoed across this region, making the Celestial Transcendent clench his teeth.
What now?
Gold-veined dragons rippled across the skies, swimming across the purple-white clouds as they spread throughout the realm and even showed signs of galloping across the space and spreading to the other realms.
’This is... the phenomenon marking the beginning of the Golden Era...!’
He recognized these patterns of gold-veined dragons were none other than Dragon Veins from the ’heaven,’ while the Dragon Veins in the earth constituted together to form the Golden Era of a realm. However, as these gold-veined dragons seemed to be spreading far and wide as they entered space, he couldn’t help but think that they were a galaxy phenomenon rather than a realm phenomenon.
The Celestial Transcendent’s body shook; the Stormheart Incarnation Prism in his hand suddenly seemed to stop crackling all of a sudden.
