Jaiyan drew a slow breath, eyes fixed on the crimson storm churning overhead, before he turned to the junior sister he’d come to love deeply, "Ready?"

Laphria Rinmei’s vibrant pink hair swayed in the air. They were imbued with strange cosmic energy, extended long and woven into the fabric of space, creating entire illusory spaces that seemed no different from reality in another’s perception, making them just as real to them as they were to her.

However, her hands were trembling.

She had honestly never done anything this insane or stayed in such a dangerous place this long.

"He did what he said he would. I, as the martial elder sister, can’t possibly retreat at the last moment~"

Fairy Divinacia’s voice echoed from behind them.

Her prowess allowed her to be as powerful as a Level Ten Exalt, meaning her base prowess was five levels higher, and Jaiyan was as strong as a Level Fourteen Exalt, his base prowess also five levels higher.

Jaiyan could reach the layer limit on his own if he sacrificed his blood essence, but she could not do so.

His green robe fluttered as Mandate Laws spread outward, invisible yet absolute. The space around him warped into a distorted basin while Yin Laws also seeped into the void along with the mandate energy, dimming color and sound alike.

As he made his way up, shoulder-to-shoulder with Davis, they spotted the source of the Desolate Era amidst the spiraling dark crimson vortex. It appeared to be a giant crimson object that had solidified into some sort of crystal.

They exchanged glances, holding admiration for each other for even managing to come this far against the heavenly pressure, but Jaiyan’s gaze held more respect for the battle he had witnessed firsthand.

Their gazes tore off before Jaiyan rapidly ascended even more, taking a deep breath of desolate air before he roared without his tongue.

"I reject your Will to bring this galaxy misfortune - I demand to put a stop to the Desolate Era!"

He roared firmly as the Heaven-Severing Tongue blazed with the words.

’Jaiyan’s Will carries the world’s consensus to put a stop to the Desolate Era!~’ At the same time, Laphria Rinmei bellowed in her mind.

Blood splashed from his orifices. He felt his organs flinch and his blood tumble from the toe to the head, nearly causing him to lose consciousness as his vision went dark.

Laphria Rinmei’s lips also appeared drained of blood, while the thousands of her hair strands had snapped. Blood poured out of her enclosed mouth, trickling down her lips and chin, but her gaze momentarily faltered as she watched Jaiyan get harmed.

Fairy Divinacia also swayed. For a tree of her caliber to sway, the price was heavy.

The reserve seed’s energy had decreased by seventy percent just like that.

Capacity was one thing, but output was another. She admired Laphria Rinmei’s capability to be able to use all that energy in one go, but at this moment, she felt like she was going to die, even as a third party caught in this act. The backlash was more severe than she expected. She had no idea if Laphria Rinmei could endure it fully, much less Jaiyan, who took it head-on.

But it was not over yet.

Laphria Rinmei clenched her teeth, ’Heaven and earth energy populates the land and the skies!’

Davis saw Jaiyan fall past him while he kept ascending.

His gaze didn’t falter as he uttered softly, "This is more than enough."

When Jaiyan barely managed to hear it, he couldn’t help but raise his hand into the skies as he gave a thumbs up, although blood was still pouring out of his mouth crazily.

Sucking in a cold, desolate breath, Davis held the scythe in his hand more firmly, his grip and his heart heavy. His prowess and aura blared to the maximum edge of the normal layer limit since he was able to find this danger familiar, since he had experience fighting at the layer limit often.

He closed his eyes and let everything he understood about Phyletic Laws of Scythe surface in his conscious mind.
