Chapter 4706 Half Way There?
Chapter 4706 Half Way There?
*Whoosh!~*
A black bird rushed past a densely populated forest, entering a vast green prairie filled with heaven and earth energy. It descended and let the master alight as it lowered its head.
Davis sank to the ground and looked around.
There was a Calamity sleeping in the middle of the prairie. It was like a lone mountain in the flatlands. It was similar to the turtle he had seen before, but weaker. It was none other than the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth. However, it was only at the Level One Exalt Stage.
He considered his chances.
"Kill it."
Davis gave his commanded and retreated into the forest with Fairy Thunderblaze. They took out a giant leaf from their spatial rings respectively, and wrapped it around themselves like they were mummies wrapped in bandages.
Their auras were immediately concealed, and even their figures disappeared.
They watched the Eternal Eclipse Bird fly into the skies as it returned to its original massive size. Reaching the Realm Calamity, it extended its talons as it descended, aiming for its head. Its descent was seamless and soundless. It didn't even kick up any wind. Like an invincible nightmare shrouded in darkness, it descended and stabbed its talons right into the turtle's closed eyes.
With a clench, it grabbed its eyeballs and quickly flew up in one single motion. A huge amount of blood was splattered.
"Gurra!"
A terrifying, enraged echo resounded throughout the area as the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth was rudely awakened.
Its eyes were rapidly forming again.
The Eternal Eclipse Bird's sharp talons seemed to be liquefying and becoming watery and dull.
It was the essence of the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth to liquefy energy and even flesh itself, anything organic. The ground below it turned to water, and it raised its giant and long tail to smash the Eternal Eclipse Bird, but it missed.
It was unable to see where the Eternal Eclipse Bird was.
However, that didn't stop it from going on a rampage.
It opened its mouth and shot out a water pillar in the air. The thick and dense water pillar shot out like a cannon and destroyed a part of the forest region on the other side before shooting into the air, where the Eternal Eclipse Bird could've likely been in its senses.
However, the Eternal Eclipse Bird maneuvered out of the way easily and sank down, using its wings to slash at its head that extended to shoot the water pillar.
*Ripp!~*
The giant head of the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth flew and rolled on the prairie, dripping copious amounts of blood. However, it still didn't die.
Just as its eyes were on the verge of reforming enough to be able to see, it saw the Eternal Eclipse Bird's silhouette again.
Darkness energy descended like a spear and blasted over its defenseless eyes, shattering the core within as it wrecked its head. It quickly got the Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness. Whenever moonlight fell on the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth, it would start bleeding, but its life had ended even before the sickness could start acting up.
"Amazing. You have the talent to be a beast tamer." Fairy Thunderblaze praised Davis with a light smile on her face.
She knew the Eternal Eclipse Bird's moves were all dictated by him. Otherwise, the Eternal Eclipse Bird wouldn't have been so quick to dispatch the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth.
"Haha…" Davis wryly laughed.
With the giant leaf having been wrapped around him, he couldn't bring himself to accept that praise, as he felt like a naked man using primitive clothes to dress up. It didn't seem very cool but was required regardless since it concealed their presence, made them invisible, and protected them from Primarch Grade attacks.
He was wondering where Fairy Thunderblaze had actually got it from, but imagined she would just reply the same tomb or another tomb.
The Eternal Eclipse Bird came back to pick them up before they made their way to the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth again before harvesting its remnants.
Davis also enjoyed absorbing the Tidal Annihilation Ocean Behemoth's soul into his soul sea and anchoring it to Fallen Heaven. He wasn't capable enough to hold it.
In any case, this wasn't their first hunt.
It had already been two days, and they killed two Void Calamities and one Realm Calamity at Level Three Primarch Stage and below. The Level Three Primarch Stage one was incredibly difficult, but since they had the environmental advantage of darkness because of a darkness-attributed valley nearby, they barely won.
As for Primarch Grade resources, they gained eight Mid-Level and two High-Level resources of the Primary Laws. It was extremely easy to find since they seemed untouched and didn't have anyone guarding them.
Nonetheless, even with the Eternal Eclipse Bird's speed, they only managed to cross half the distance in two days. After all, they maintained a slow pace. If they looked towards the west, the sky-piercing mountain would still be there.
"It's going to be night soon. We'll start looking for a place to rest."
Davis kept the giant leaf back in the spatial ring and jumped back on the Eternal Eclipse Bird. Fairy Thunderblaze didn't alight at all, but she had gotten rid of the funny leaf wrap clothing long ago. Naturally, she also felt ridiculous to be wearing such a lame thing. She wanted to make it into a cloak-type dress, but was afraid that tampering with it would make it lose its effects.
"Alright," she replied, not really going against his wishes since he was the one leading her in this expedition.
Davis didn't continue on ahead into the new territory.
Instead, they went back to the dense forest and carved up a space within the tree to accommodate them. As for the Eternal Eclipse Bird, he let it perch on the tree on the edge so no new Calamity appears in search of a new territory to claim. That would be troublesome.
After setting up a tent for himself, Davis went to sleep to wake up early.
However, his senses were quite awake, looking at the intruder who entered his tent.
The figure slowly slid across the ground like a shadow and appeared near his head.
*Puchi!~*
A dagger sank all the way into his forehead, plunging deep into the skull. However, the assassin felt it was nothing but an afterimage. Instantly, they took out a spear and stabbed behind through the waist and right arm as they pulled their hands together to the stomach.
With no piercing sensation, the assassin knew he had failed and quickly dashed away, making their escape.
However, the exit abruptly closed as a strong spatial barrier appeared.
"Since you dared to walk in here, why bother leaving?"
An amused voice echoed behind.
Hearing the commotion, Fairy Thunderblaze woke up from her reverie and locked onto the intruder, her heart in disarray. She had fallen prey to some kind of dream attack that dragged her deep asleep. This enemy was very strong!
