Chapter 4117: Good Opportunity
Chapter 4117: Good Opportunity
The crossing only lasted a fraction of a second, and they already appeared on the other side. The 'real' city of Valames could be seen again, and at its center, the same giant pyramid. Back then, that pyramid could change form, and from the looks of it, the same could happen now.
However, the similarities stopped there. Perhaps it was because the Mist Library hadn't really opened, but there was no cultivation suppression in place at the moment. Not only that, but everyone could fly normally. Back then, only normal flight, like Kentucky with his wings, worked. Using Divine Energy to fly was not a thing.
Taking that advantage into consideration, the Rean and the others flew to the pyramid at the center of the city.
Once there, Herbert got curious. "Alright... how are we opening the pyramid this time? We obviously don't have those tokens anymore. Actually, I don't even think the tokens have been released in the outside world yet."
Roan didn't answer. He simply came forward and stopped in front of the pyramid, much to Herbert's surprise. Doesn't Roan remember that doing such a thing was dangerous?
*ZIU!*
Out of nowhere, a laser of pure Starlight Energy shot in Roan's direction. No one was surprised, though. That was exactly what happened the last time, and these lasers killed quite a few people before the pyramid was opened.
"Hmph!" Roan snorted, though. His crystalized intent scythes appeared, and he slashed against the laser!
*Swash!*
The laser was split into two, hitting two different locations in Valames city. There wasn't anyone there, though. It still looked like an extremely old city falling apart, so there was no need to care about its structural integrity.
More of those Starlight Energy lasers came from various directions, targeting Roan and the others farther behind.
Rean and Kentucky took it easily, deflecting, dodging, or simply blocking those lasers. The lasers were strong, but they were far from enough to cause them trouble.
Herbert wasn't as good, though. The man had to go all out just to survive the barrage, and from the looks of it, Herbert wouldn't last long. That once again made Herbert understand just how big a gap there was between him and the twins' group. He was certain that it was not just their higher cultivation.
The show of lights continued for a few minutes, with Rean and Kentucky helping Herbert once in a while for the sake of entertainment. Herbert would have fled a long time ago if not for them, maybe even died.
However, the lasers suddenly stopped, the pyramid going silent. Only then did Roan put his Scythes away. "Are you satisfied? Just open already, or we will create an entrance for ourselves."
*Rumble...*
As if hearing Roan's orders, the same passage from back then opened. Herbert was surprised that the pyramid answered Roan's rude demands so readily. "Since when was the Mist Library Spirit that docile?"
As soon as he asked that, an angry voice echoed outside. 'Who the hell is docile, you piece of shit?! I just don't want to spend more of my Starlight Energy for no reason! These guys obviously won't die with just that.'
Herbert scratched the back of his head. He definitely didn't want to make the Mist Library Spirit angry since he wanted its help again. "I apologize, friend. I mispoke."
'Hmph!' The Spirit went silent.
Roan ignored the event and moved forward. "Let's go. There is no point waiting outside."
Rean and Kentucky quickly caught up to him, and they entered the Mist Library with Herbert.
Inside, they could see the corridors of the Mist Library changing, creating a new path for them to follow. Normally, these paths would lead you to various challenges and such. This time, however, they led them straight to the Mist Library, the place where they could talk to the Mist Library's Spirit.
They entered the room where countless bookshelves floated. It was like a dimensional realm, but not quite. Above, the white mist converged into the face of the Spirit from back then once more. "How the hell did you even manage to enter my realm?"
Then, he noticed Rean, and he obviously remembered. "Fuck! It's you again! What? Sad that I didn't answer your question back then?"
Rean laughed in response. "Hahaha! Not at all! If anything, I would like to apologize for my behavior."
Rean was on the Mist Library's Spirit bad side, and it obviously hasn't forgotten it yet.
Meanwhile, Roan's mind was inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, talking to Hick. 'So, are you able to come outside? First of all, what is your cultivation level at the moment?'
'After I stabilized my soul back in my body, I managed to recover a little bit of power. You could say my power right now is equivalent to a Celestial Initial Stage. Once I recover all the power I used to stop those Balance Breakers, I should be able to display a power similar to a Peak Stage one, but that will take time,' Hick answered.
'So you can't come outside?' Roan asked again. It would be faster if Hick appeared himself.
'I can... but I would rather not do it. I'm already focused on keeping the boundaries around your cultivation. I don't want to lose focus,' Hick said.
The Mist Library Spirit noticed the long silence, starting to lose his patience. "Just what are you waiting for? If you have more questions, then go ahead. However, I will only answer one question each. This rule hasn't changed. The only reason I haven't given you any trials was that it would be useless with your powers."
Herbert looked expectant at the twins' group, and Kentucky nodded at him. "Go ahead. We are having a little discussion here."
Herbert excitedly jumped ahead, asking the question he had kept in his heart for a long time. Well, it was a pretty common question, though. He wanted a new set of skills that could match his power as a Divinity. He actually wanted to know about the Celestial Realm, too. However, Herbert still believed the Library would not have the answer for that. At least it said it couldn't answer anything related to powers beyond the Divinity Realm.
The Spirit condensed a Jade Slip in front of Herbert, feeling bored. "Just that? You should at least try think for yourself for a moment, you know? What a waste of an opportunity. Anyway, everything you need to know is inside. These are the methods that most suit you. Now, who's next? One answer each. Except for Rean. He can go fuck himself."
Rean felt like crying. Talk about holding a grudge...
But then, a Spatial Tunnel appeared in the middle of the Mist Library. Since Roan couldn't get Hick inside the F956 Universe at the moment, he simply decided to show Hick inside his Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Technically, Hick was not inside the Universe, after all. Sister Orb kept Hick's existence isolated from the outside, even if you could see and even talk to him through that tunnel.
Hick was in his real form, looking at the Mist Library Spirit. "Long time no see, Soltrex. Seems like you still have these weird habits of yours going."
The mist that made the face of the Mist Library Spirit instantly changed. Not only that, but all the mist inside the Library gathered, and an enormous manta ray-like creature took form, although it was still made of the same White Mist. "Is... Is it you, Hick? For real?"
Hick confirmed. "How many Primordial Beasts like me do you know?"
"Good!" Then, the power of the Mist Library began to gather, all the Starlight Energy converging. "Then this is a great opportunity to beat you to death!"
Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and even Celis, who was inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, looked at Hick with strange expressions. Why does everyone who knows about Hick always seem to want to kill him?
