Chapter 4064: Move
Chapter 4064: Move
The formation activated again, the runes flying all around as an enormous amount of information was being calculated by its core. It didn’t take only the princesses’ answers, but also everything it could find about their pasts so far.
For example, Xixie mentioned how she also made a lot of public appearances. While her brothers and uncle interfered for her, she also had to work to make it easier for them to keep her in the family. That’s why there was a lot of information in the network.
Finally, the runes began to converge, and a white light shone around the selected princess. Zanbril’s wife-to-be was now obvious for everyone to see.
Who are we fooling here? Of course, the formation selected Werxia! Why would it not? She put the Zentian Empire first, and the formation confirmed she wasn’t lying. She even mentioned her commitment to forcing Zanbril to never lag behind, or she would cut him out. Since the Formation also analysed intentions, the intent of those words also prioritised the Zentian Empire’s interests.
Werxia was ecstatic, and Zanbril came forward to grab her hand. He found Xixie’s story interesting, but she was far from being the only one being treated poorly. If anything, she was actually lucky, if you considered most of the living beings in the Universe. So, Zanbril had no doubts that Werxia was the right pick, too. "Congratulations. I hope your resolve will be as firm as your beliefs. I naturally will do my best to support you so we can rise in the Zentian Empire together."
"Yes, you can count on me." Werxia and Zanbril began to walk to the stage, while the other four princesses were left in the center.
Xixie didn’t seem disappointed. That’s why when Zanbril asked if she could give a better answer, she said she couldn’t. Her answer was all about her own problems rather than the future of the Zentian Empire or her future with Zanbril. She mentioned the only good thing going for her was that she offered no risks. However, would the Zentian Empire fear risks? If they did, they wouldn’t be one of the biggest powers in A1, that’s for sure.
Hoblio approached her and patted her head. "I know I gave you permission, but you didn’t really need to tell everyone about your issues."
Xixie smiled. "It is fine. I gave it my best shot. Would you select someone without talent to be your wife if you were responsible for that formation?"
"No..." Hoblio didn’t lie. "But they don’t know you like I do. You are so much more than just your talents."
Kentucky thought the same thing. "He is right. If there is someone who believes talent is not everything, that is definitely us. You saw Roan for a moment when we arrived here, didn’t you? Well, the truth is he had quite a few disciples in the past. Many of them had no talent whatsoever, far below even yours, but they still rose to be important figures. Dedication is all that matters."
That was also true, especially back when the Freedom and System Sects had Rean and Roan and their Sect Masters or Ancestors.
Finally, after everything was over, Derfiu came forward again. "Shall we go back? Delaying the inevitable won’t do us any good."
"Hmph!" Hoblio snorted. "Don’t try to feel good just because things didn’t work out in the end. You are just trying to find an excuse in your mind, saying that this would have been the outcome anyway. Well, guess what, it wouldn’t. She would be dead if not for Kentucky. Xixie might have forgiven you, but don’t expect the same from me for a long time."
Derfiu didn’t complain.
On the stage, Zanbril brought out the collar and passed it forward to Werxia. Once she puts it on, both Werxia and Zanbril will be connected for life. If one dies, so does the other. It was a product of the Celestial Plane, so nothing in the Werdlem Empire could remove its effects.
Werxia extended her hands forward, taking it and putting the collar around her neck. Just like the other collars, it activated and began to sink into her body. Suddenly...
*Bzzzzzz!*
A golden colored lightning suddenly sparked from Werxia’s Collar!
*Arrrrrhhhhhhh!*
Everyone saw as her body was being toasted by the collar incredibly fast.
*Zush!*
Her advisor, one of the Celestials, immediately flashed over as Zanbril’s own Celestial Experts appeared on his side and pulled him back.
That golden lightning hurt Werxia’s Celestial’s own hand, even though he was doing his best to protect it, and he was a Celestial Realm Expert!
Nonetheless, he pushed through the pain and grabbed the collar, taking it out of Werxia before throwing it away. The collar fell on the stage, and the Golden Lightning finally settled. It looked like nothing had happened at all to it.
Werxia, however, was almost dead. Her Celestial quickly took a special pill from his Pocket Dimensional Realm to feed her. The pill’s effect entered her body, and only then was her soul stabilized as her mostly destroyed organs began to mend slowly.
Her Celestial narrowed his eyes, seeing that the pill wouldn’t be enough. There was a lingering power, definitely from that Collar, still in her body. It was inhibiting the pill’s power, and it was a Legendary Level Healing Pill! Let’s not forget that to make a Legendary Level Item, one must be at least a Celestial Realm Expert due to the necessity of Celestial Energy.
He tried to drive that energy away or get rid of it, but it was pretty obvious he was far from capable enough. Even his Celestial Energy was useless.
He gritted his teeth. He didn’t have another one of those pills, as they were extremely hard to get, even for a Celestial like him. "Does anyone have a Legendary Level Healing Pill? I will make sure to pay for it!"
Zanbril got himself away from his Celestial Realm Experts’ grasp, walking forward. "Take this."
He passed another pill. He also only had one, which was immediately fed to Werxia. Everyone watched, still puzzled about the reason for that circumstance. Why did the collar attack Werxia? She was fortunate that the collar hadn’t merged with her body yet, allowing her Celestial to pull it out by force. Had it entered and turned into those tattoos, nothing anyone could do would be enough to stop it.
*Ugh...*
Unfortunately for her, Zanbril’s pill wasn’t enough either. In fact, it made no difference. It only managed to heal her a little more, but the power of the collar simply didn’t want to leave, and the damage continued to appear. They couldn’t even tell what was feeding that power.
"Just what is happening here?"
