Chapter 3914: And The Two Extras
Chapter 3914: And The Two Extras
Gakrid and Rovitel still didn’t believe they were here. But they weren’t the only ones.
’So, explain that to me again,’ Roan asked Rean through their Soul Connection. ’What exactly is going on with those two?’
Rean smiled in response. ’I mean, since the Magical Eight is making an appearance again, we can’t possibly forget the two extras, right? It will be a lot easier to convince President Bugel with them here. Just watch.’
Roan truly just wanted to cut Rean’s head right there and then, but at the moment, they had to deal with the situation.
President Bugel began to massage the space between his eyes, feeling a headache taking over. "Wisfreya, just what are these kids doing here?"
The initial plan was for Roan and the others to follow Wisfreya, Rean, and Foliana from inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. However, that option had an issue. How would they present themselves once they get to the Galantes Country? How did they get there? These kinds of questions would definitely appear, and Roan had already decided they wouldn’t hide anymore. They would carry these new identities until the end.
Because of that, it was better to let the Verjansy Country know about them and the fact that they wanted to go too.
Wisfreya quickly spoke. "The fact is that I have been in contact with everyone from the Martial Gathering from all those years."
"I know that," Bugel said, stating the obvious. "You were the one to come up with this idea after the Martial Gathering. I didn’t mind since it is always good to keep your friends close and enemies even closer. That’s what I thought you were doing. It still doesn’t explain what they are doing here. Even if you were close, they are all part of other powers."
Wisfreya nodded, continuing, "Yes, but considering the current situation, all powers will collapse if they don’t surrender or flee from the Green Cluster, especially the powers of a small area like our Surute Region. After discussing the matter together, I informed them that my country, Verjansy, was planning to send us away and asked if they would like to join me. Surprisingly, they all accepted the offer, and here we are now."
"Even the two extras...?" Bugel couldn’t help but ask.
"Especially the two extras..." Wisfreya answered, although she wasn’t very sure of that one. That was Rean’s idea. She just said what Rean told her to say. "They are our good luck charms, I think..."
For some reason, Gakrid and Rovitel felt like they shouldn’t even be in this conversation.
’Is that your reasoning?’ Roan asked Rean again, finding it hard to fathom Rean’s thoughts. ’Luck charms?’
’Exactly!’ Rean nodded. ’Tell me it isn’t a lot more convincing with them here, uh?! It is great! We can just dump them somewhere later, after we establish ourselves. You have to admit, they are truly lucky to have met us. We are saving them from this war.’
Bugel was speechless. Good luck charms? Still, he quickly shook his head. "Leaving the two extras aside, this would be the same as robbing the members of the other top ten powers of the Surute Region. Do you think the Pengen Beast Alliance, Sea Breeze Sect, and Amefis Treasure Hall will just let it slide?"
Roan raised his hand. "My Amefis Treasure Hall has already released me and Tanxan. Just like your Verjansy Country, they seem to be deserting to the enemy’s side. However, they will need to get rid of a lot of their members first, it seems. It’s just that I’m not entirely sure what the conditions agreed upon between them and the invaders were."
Celis was next. "The Pengen Beast Alliance is already crumbling apart. We Demons aren’t very good at working together anyway. Many decided to stay and fight to the very end to protect their territories, while others don’t care that much and are simply leaving. I’m one of those who decided to leave. Different from what your humanoid races do, we Demons didn’t really have a proper system where we registered each of our members. We were always free to go whenever we wanted."
Kentucky also joined. "As for the case of my Sea Breeze Sect... Well... I was kept there to appease the young generation of women who love me. The elders were very happy to see me going away. Zangeshu was just an addition to the move. Sigh... my girls... my fan club... No! I will not let it die! The official website still exists, and I will definitely expand it!"
Zangeshu looked away, as he genuinely didn’t want to be put together with that bird at the moment.
Gakrid looked at Rovitel, asking through Divine Sense. ’Should we also tell why we agreed to come?’
Rovited bitterly smiled in response. ’I highly doubt they care as much about us as they do about the Magical Eight. Remember, we are the two extras...’
’I guess so...’ Both of them sighed, but they also noticed it was a great opportunity for them. They definitely wouldn’t stay behind if they had the choice.
Bugel found it hard to believe these top geniuses got themselves free. But then again, he also thought about how none of the powers that had their backs might exist in just a few years’ time. At the end of the day, a genius is only useful if the power he is part of still exists many years later, once they develop. It made sense that those powers were more concerned with staying alive or fleeing than with worrying about the younger generation.
"Let me see if I understand," Bugel was still skeptical. "Does that mean you all want to join Wifreya? Why? Truth be told, there are no guarantees that our plan to send Wisfreya and the others away will be a good thing."
"It still seems a lot safer to bet on following her than staying here," Rean added.
"Maybe so..." Bugel nodded slightly. However, he wasn’t going to take any chances, so he quickly took out his CD. "But I’m going to ask the Amefis Treasure Hall, Sea Breeze Sect, and Pengen Beast Alliance first. Don’t move. If there is something wrong with your stories, I’m definitely sending you all back from where you came. The last thing I need is for any of those powers to come to my doorstep, complaining about you."
No one minded it. The twins’ group had prepared everything, and they were certain no one would ask them to go back. Even the Amefis Treasure Hall, which did give Roan a free pass and a chance to join them in their defection, didn’t try to stop him when he tried to leave, let alone the others.
As the President of one of the top Ten Powers of the Surute Region, Bugel obviously had the numbers to contact the leaders of those three others. He called each one, and sure enough, the twins’ group’s story held. The only slight disagreement was with the Amefis Treasure Hall, but not because they didn’t want to let Roan go; rather, it was because they didn’t expect Roan and Tanxan to look for someone else so quickly, and that annoyed them.
Roan had to join the conversation, and after he laid bare the Treasure Hall’s plan to use the war to reduce their own numbers, the Treasure Hall gave up and let him go.
Bugel put his CD away, feeling quite angry with the Treasure Hall. "What kind of bullshit condition was that? Reduce your numbers through the war? Why didn’t they simply let their members go instead of sending them to their deaths?"
Roan shook his head in response. "If you ask me, I would say it is because they had to show enough commitment. But in the end, I don’t know the terms of their agreement to join the invaders’ side. I just know that I was also sent to the frontlines, and if I had died, it would have been for this reason. Naturally, I left."
Bugel glanced at him, nodding in the end. "No one sane would have stayed."
Finally, Bugel gave up. "Fine! I will let you all join Wisfreya. It is not like the price to send more people would change anyway. However, you’d better support Wisfreya while she is there. Perhaps the legend of the Magical Eight will be reborn now that you all are together."
"And the two extras..." Grakid murmured for a moment.
"Y-yes... and the two extras," Bugel added. He almost forgot those two.
But then, Bugel noticed something, looking at Wisfreya right after. "Wait! Wisfreya, you also signed the Soul Binding Contract that prevented you from saying anything about this teleport. How come they all know about it?"
Wisfreya scratched the back of her head. "It’s my Luminous Aether Dragon Bloodline. I’m able to use its power to prevent the seal on my soul from activating."
"Eh?!" Bugel was not expecting that. "To think it was this powerful... But then, why are you still with us?"
"It was only possible after I reached the Void Tempering Realm. In any case, I wanted to stay since the country always treated me well. I had no reason to leave, regardless of a contract or not, and I still hold the same sentiment," Wisfreya explained.
Of course, the thing about breaking the contract was a lie. It was Rean who helped her, but she couldn’t tell Bugel about it.
"Sigh..." Bugel didn’t insist on the topic anymore. "Very well. I’ll let the others know about it. Bring them to the teleport formation later."
