Chapter 2389 Bloody Expanse

Chapter 2389  Bloody Expanse

Somewhere in the Demonic Realm, the current Supreme Leader sat before several high-ranking demons as they relayed their news to him.

"I have just received confirmation that 'woman' has disappeared from the Deprived Crimson Valley's Final Valley. However, we have yet to confirm whether she simply left the Final Valley and moved to a new location or the Deprived Crimson Valley altogether."

"Does she even have the capability to leave the Deprived Crimson Valley?" someone suddenly asked.

The Supreme Ruler responded, "Since we have never replaced a Supreme Ruler without the former one dying or being properly removed, there is no telling how much of the Demon God's Authority she still retains—if she can access it at all."

"However, we will proceed under the assumption that she still retains her powers and may have already escaped the Deprived Crimson Valley. Dispatch both the Elite Execution Squad and the Special Execution Squad, but do not engage. Observe her movements and report back to me immediately."

"As you command, Supreme Ruler!"

"Is there anything else I should be aware of?" the Supreme Ruler asked.

After a brief silence, one of the individuals raised his hand and spoke hesitantly, "I'm not certain how credible it is—or even if it's real—but there's been a rumor circulating within the Deprived Crimson Valley… of someone wielding Demon Sealing Aura."

"What?! Demon Sealing Aura?!"

The room erupted into chaos. "But all of the Sealers are dead—at least, they should be!"

"Perhaps one of them managed to escape? If they're already within the Deprived Crimson Valley, then there's no need to panic," another suggested.

"Right? It's not like they can leave the Deprived Crimson Valley alone."

However, the Supreme Ruler spoke once more, his voice turning cold and resolute.

"No. We will treat this matter with the same urgency as Dena. The Demon Sealing Aura, with its accursed power against our kind, is a blatant affront to the Demon God. I will not permit anyone to wield such power… even within the confines of the Deprived Crimson Valley."

"Trace the source of this rumor and verify its truth. If a Demon Sealer is indeed alive… execute them without hesitation."

"As you command, Supreme Ruler!"

The meeting ended shortly after, and everyone but the Supreme Ruler left.

"The reemergence of a Demon Sealer… and Dena's disappearance…" The Supreme Ruler muttered, his expression turning grave. "Is this mere coincidence… or something far more deliberate?"

Meanwhile, Yuan and his group arrived at a new location—a boundless sea of deep crimson liquid, as though it were an endless ocean of blood.

"This must be the Bloody Expanse," Yuan remarked as he took in the scene.

"It looks even redder than I remember," he added, recalling the moment Tian Chenyu had first laid eyes upon it.

True to its name, the Bloody Expanse was a vast sea stained crimson with blood, spilled by the countless sea creatures that endlessly slaughtered and devoured one another, as well as demons fighting over it. After all, the Bloody Expanse encompassed more than half of the entire Demonic Realm.

Unlike the beings of the Nine Heavens, those within the Demonic Realm possessed unnaturally thick blood that did not easily disperse in water. After trillions of years of ceaseless slaughter and corruption, that very blood accumulated, giving rise to the Bloody Expanse.

Moreover, despite being an ocean of blood, it was unfit for consumption—even by demons—its essence so deeply corrupted that not even their kind could safely devour it without getting sick.

Of course, for a demon to fall ill meant that something was wrong with its blood, and for their kind, that was no different from becoming crippled, akin to a cultivator whose spiritual energy had been corrupted.

"Whenever you're ready," Supreme Ruler Dena said as she hovered above the blood-red sea.

Yuan followed without hesitation. Lev, however, trailed behind with visible reluctance. Even as a First Level False God, the Bloody Expanse remained an exceedingly perilous domain, where a single lapse in awareness could result in being dragged beneath the surface and devoured by the lurking sea creatures below.

Though one might assume they could simply ascend into the sky and distance themselves from the sea, such thoughts were futile, as many of the creatures below were capable of leaping beyond the clouds themselves.

Yet, even after traveling for three consecutive days, not a single sea creature made an attempt to attack them.

This left Lev puzzled.

"Is there something wrong with the Bloody Expanse? The Sea Devils aren't attacking at all," he wondered out loud.

In the Demonic Realm, the sea creatures were called Sea Devils. "They're likely wary of Dena's presence," Yuan remarked calmly.

However, Supreme Ruler Dena shook her head. "No… that can't be. They've attacked me before."

"Seriously?" Even Yuan couldn't hide his surprise now, his curiosity piqued as his earlier assumption began to falter.

He proceeded to expand his divine sense even deeper into the sea.

"It's empty," he said a moment later. "I cannot sense a single creature in the water within a ten-thousand-mile radius."

"What? How is that possible? The Bloody Expanse is usually teeming with Sea Devils," Lev said, bewildered. "It's common knowledge that they reproduce far faster than they can kill one another."

Suddenly, Lev came to an abrupt halt, his face draining of color as an expression of absolute terror took hold.

"What's wrong?" Yuan asked, his brows furrowing slightly.

"Actually… I think I might know what happened here…" Lev replied, swallowing hard as unease crept into his voice.

"There is a legend of a powerful Sea Devil that dwells within the Bloody Expanse—the Bloody Devil Emperor. It is a mysterious entity said to appear only once every hundred billion years. And whenever it does, the Bloody Expanse deepens in crimson, while all other Sea Devils retreat into hiding until it vanishes again."

"Bloody Devil Emperor? Do you know anything about this entity?" Yuan asked, turning to Supreme Ruler Dena.

"It's nothing more than folklore," she replied calmly. "No one has ever actually laid eyes on this so-called Bloody Devil Emperor."
