Chapter 362
Chapter 362: Fiancé
“They may come back after some time.”
“Training? That’s good.” Fabreidis paced around Lucifer Lucy, eyes focused on her, and then asked, “Who is this girl?”
“Aren’t you Uncle Fabreidis? Jin told me a lot about you.” Lucifer Lucy put on an innocent little-girl-styled smile, “I’m Yuan Kylie, Qian Jin’s…his…”
Fabreidis had an astonishing look on his face as he looked at Qian Jin who was tapping his forehead, “You, boy…”
“Dear uncle, this girl is an experienced liar.” Qian Jin pressed his temple with his thumb. “You cannot trust her…”
“You…you…” Dazzling teardrops were dropping from Lucifer Lucy’s single eye, as she was looking at Qian Jin aggrievedly and angrily, “You have touched, seen, and kissed my body…you…you…”
Marc Gavin patted Qian Jin on the back hard and said, “How did you win over this beautiful girl in the past three months…”
Fabreidis also laid his palms on Qian Jin’s shoulder. “Though this girl seems good at acting and lying, I can see her sincerity from the words she said. After all, my Jane has to be your first legitimate wife.”
“Sister Jane?” Lucifer Lucy stopped crying, and flashed out an ecstatic light from her single eye, “Jin has mentioned her multiple times.”
Qian Jin made a quiver and screwed his lips. “Jin? What a repugnant calling it was.”
“Now that you have come back safely, I can rest reassured.” Fabreidis patted Qian Jin on the shoulder. “I had intended to go to the Qian Family to solve your problems and then deal with mine. Now I can save time and stay in Yulee. I will be back soon, and by that time we shall have a long chat.”
Qian Jin looked at Fabreidis leaving in sheer surprise. This was an uncle who always behaved composed. For what was he in such a hurry that he had to leave away shortly after their meeting again?
“You, boy.” Marc Gavin clamped Qian Jin’s neck with his brawny arms. “Everyone has his own business to deal with, especially for the dumb Fabreidis. It is about something of the past. Now that he has reached the saint level, he has to put an end to some issues.”
Qian Jin nodded his head blankly. It was more than apparent that Fabreidis was a man of secrets. Or else for what was he covering himself up in the small city of Oakland, assuming the post of city guardian in seclusion.
Oakland? Qian Jin chuckled. To serve as the city guardian of Oakland, he himself was qualified enough. Fabreidis’s doing so was like using the pillars constructed into the imperial palace to build a nest for the chickens.
“I remember there is a younger Sister called Rosella?” Lucifer Lucy looked into Marc Gavin as coquettishly as a kitty, “dear uncle, where is younger sister Rosella?”
Marc Gavin pointed to the Torrent Battle Fort behind him. “She is just in the reception room. Boy, you must be eager to see your fiancée after being departed for three months, aren’t you? I will just leave and wait to drink with you tonight. In a couple of days, we shall go to the mayor’s to have some good wine. I hear that there are a number of vintage wines kept in the mayor’s home.”
Mayor? Qian Jin walked toward Torrent Battle Fort bemusedly, wondering what his return had to do with the mayor. Though it was obligated for him to visit the mayor to extend his thanks for working as the notary in his duel with the Qian family members, there was no reason for the honorable mayor to take out his vintage wine to greet him.
Though sharing the same title of the mayor, the difference between the status of the mayor of Yulee and that of Oakland was more than sharp. In the eye of the mayor of Yulee, the mayor of Oakland might be as trivial as a village head.
Walking past a string of rooms, one could see a huge park unfolding inside the Torrent Battle Fort, in the center of which lied a small newly-built house decorated in a cute manner as seen from the exterior.
Obviously, such a lovely house was used by a female. It would be a big joke for the males to reside here, who took up a proportion of 90% of all residents in the Torrent Battle Fort
By the round wood table in the park outside the house, Rosella was dressed in a green gown, squinting and listening to the young warrior of slender stature in exquisite warrior dress sitting across from her.
York Hons? Qian Jin frowned slightly. Judging from the back profile, the one talking to Rosella looked very much like York Leigh’s son.
“Ah, you must be Sister Rosella!”
Lucifer Lucy ran into the park like a gust of wind with a happy look on the face, looking toward Rosella whose was wearing an equally delighted but somewhat fatigued look.
“You are…” Rosella slowly rose up with a blank look. Suddenly she winked out of ecstasy and pulled up her dress to run toward the entrance to the park.
Qian Jin. Rosella’s twinkling eyes were enveloped by moisture, as she had eventually seen Qian Jin whom she had been longing for.
Rosella stopped when she arrived in front of Qian Jin. Flushing, she lowered her head, not knowing whether she should give him a warm welcome or just nestle in his arms.
“Rosella, I’m back.” Qian Jin chuckled and opened his arms to embrace her. Feeling the fragrance of her hair, Qian Jin whispered to her ears, “I’m sorry for having kept you waiting for long.”
“It doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter.” Rosella buried her burning face into Qian Jin’s arms and kept shaking her head. “It’s good that you have come back safe.”
“Rosella, who is this?”
A voice full of jealousy and pride rang from the young warrior as he slowly rose up and turned back. Then he cast a resentful look at Qian Jin.
Was he not York Hons? Qian Jin felt a little shocked. What did he mean by talking so jealous? Was he coveting Rosella?
“Mr. Nord York, this is Mr. Qian Jin.” The steward and nanny of Rosella said quickly, “Ms. Rosella’s fiancé.”
The nanny articulated the word “fiancé “, in a way to stop York Nord from dreaming about Rosella.
York Nord? Qian Jin lifted his eyelids to cast a look at this person who bore the same name as the mayor York Leigh. Upon close observation, Qian Jin found that he looked identical to York Hons, the son of the mayor. Was this young guy another son of the mayor?
Fiancée? What made a fiancée? That was a name for those who had been in an engagement yet hadn’t got officially married.
Feeling the intimacy between Qian Jin and Rosella, York Nord rolled his eyes with arrogance and resentment. For the past days, he had been racking his mind to ingratiate himself with Rosella but wasn’t even given the chance to hold her hands. But this guy wrapped her around his arms!
Qian Jin? Not a strange name to him. Crossing his hands behind the back, York Nord paced toward Qian Jin and kept looking him up and down. Was this the young warrior who finished off Evil Lunar Angel Ray Yue with just one bash in Yulee three months ago? There didn’t seem to be anything different about him.
“Rosella…” Standing in front of Qian Jin, York Nord straightened up on his tiptoes and forced a courteous smile, “I don’t remember you’re getting engaged?”
Qian Jin stared at York Nord standing in front of him and felt like punching him in the face. “We will make the engagement official in a couple of days. You’re invited to have a drink and help us celebrate when we do.”
Rosella quivered, raised her face off Qian Jin’s arms, and looked into him with her bashfully winking eyes, wondering whether she had heard it wrong. “Did dear Jin…he…”
“Have a drink?” York Nord screwed his eyebrows so hard that they looked just like a goblet used for strong grape wine. Was this a provocation? As far as he observed, this person called Qian Jin was even uncouth than what his brother had described in whom no traces of elegance could be traced. Rosella marrying him was like…was like a piece of priceless jade falling off into a puddle of mud.
What qualifications did Qian Jin have to marry a beauty such as Rosella? York Nord fixed his collar with two hands gently and then turned to Lucifer Lucy, on the sight of whom he couldn’t help blinking. This girl was just as beautiful and sexy as Rosella. But why was she following the humble warrior Qian Jin?
“Hehe…” York Nord turned to his normal typical smile, shrugged his shoulder slightly and then shook his wrist to “conjure” a red letter of invitation. Bending over slightly with a gracious smile, he handed it to Rosella with two hands. “Rosella, I’m here to welcome you to my father, mayor York Leigh’s birthday celebration.”
At the sight of the letter of invitation “conjured” by York Nord, Rosella couldn’t figure out how he did that. Over the past few days, she had been deliberating on the unique technique the younger son of the mayor had performed. It seemed much more mesmerizing than what the street jugglers played.
“Warrior dimension?”
Qian Jin looked at the lofty-looking York Nord, somehow in surprise. With the increase of his power over these days, his vision was broadened wider and wider. According to his observation, there were a lot of bloodline warriors who hadn’t possessed a warrior dimension, hinting that the warrior dimension was really a scarce treasure.
Since York Nord hadn’t inherited the bloodline power, it could be predicted that it was the mayor York Leigh who procured the warrior dimension for his beloved soon, perhaps at a huge price.
York Leigh raised his chin slightly and wore sheer pride in his eyes. By doing so, he was showing affirmation to Qian Jin for his acuteness in recognizing the warrior dimension.
“Warrior dimension?” The rosiness on Rosella’s face hadn’t disappeared diametrically. Rolling her translucent eyes, Rosella looked to Qian Jin in puzzlements, paying no attention to the letter of invitation sent by York Nord.
At the sight of Rosella’s rosy watery face, Qian Jin smiled, “It’s the warrior dimension, a small trick. I’ll tell you more about it later.”
A small trick? The smiling face of York Nord suddenly darkened as he heard Qian Jin refer to it as a small trick. “What an arrogant and uncouth warrior! Does he feel that he could command Yulee after chopping down the Evil Lunar Angel Ray Yue?”
