Sima Long waved his hand at Lin Xuan Qi and said, "It’s nothing much.
"Come over to my place two days later for her first month celebration.
"Oh, before I forget, have I told you how lovely, chubby, cute and cuddly she is?"
Lin Xuan Qi rolled his eyes at him and sat back down onto his chair.
"I’m sure to get a big gift for your lovely, chubby, cute and cuddly daughter." He said and gave Sima Long a huge smile.
It was only with Sima Long that he could relax and joke around like what he was doing at the moment and he appreciated him for it.
Life as the head of the Lin Clan, taking care of so many things, wasn’t easy, and he was glad to be able to get away from it once in a while with Sima Long.
Sima Long ignored his tease, gave him a smirk and replied, "Thanks. I’ll make sure to let her know how generous uncle Lin is to her when she gets older.
"What about you? Any good news so far on this front?"
Lin Xuan Qi thought for a moment and it had been three months since Xue Cong and Yue Xin were pregnant, and it was time to share the good news with his buddy.
"Then, you better be prepared to buy some big gifts for my two sons." He said and lifted his tea cup, proposing a toast to Sima Long.
"Two sons?!" Sima Long was surprised to hear it from him but he lifted his tea cup to return the toast nevertheless.
They downed the tea in a mouthful and Sima Long was eager to find out more.
"Tell me more... But wait... How are you so sure that you will be having two sons?" Sima Long glanced at him with curiosity and asked.
Lin Xuan Qi shrugged his shoulders at him and said, "Trust me. I just know."
Sima Long frowned at his response even though he was telling the truth.
It felt great to keep Sima Long in suspense for a change and Lin Xuan Qi continued, "Xue Cong and Yue Xin have been pregnant for three months now."
"That’s good news, my daughter will have playmates soon." Sima Long was glad for what he had heard.
Lin Xuan Qi thought the same and said, "I’m sure they would get along well just like us."
"Heh. I’m sure they will." Sima Long felt blessed to have met someone like Lin Xuan Qi and it wouldn’t hurt if their children would be on good terms with each other.
"How are things in Bian Jing City now? I miss all the sights and sounds ever since we went there." Sima Long changed the topic and they chatted about what Lin Xuan Qi had seen over there and along the way.
"The war with the Da Mang Dynasty is still going on and the emperor is getting more men into the battlefield.
"I’ve seen troops moving up north on the way there and on the way back."
Sima Long frowned and said, "Thankfully, things are peaceful here for the moment."
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head but thought otherwise in his mind.
He wasn’t able to figure out what the Qing Feng Sect wanted till now.
And he thought that he had to try and figure it out soon.
With his cultivation level at where it was, he was already one of the most powerful in the city except for Zhao Geng Nian and most probably his disciple, Xiao Feng.
There might be some digging around he had to do.
Sima Long went on to chat about his life after the birth of his daughter and how busy it was for him.
He had to take care of things for the Sima Family while also making sure that Zhang Jie and his daughter had his attention.
But Lin Xuan Qi could see that it was a blissful tiredness for him, seeing how proud he was to be able to accomplish so much with everything.
Sima Long wasn’t the young master he had met in the brothels anymore.
"It’s late and I have to get back to my wife and lovely daughter." Sima Long said and stood up from his seat.
Lin Xuan Qi shook his head at him and said, "I have the suspicion that you are reminding me to get a big gift for your lovely daughter but I have no evidence for it."
Sima Long didn’t answer and only gave him a grin.
They walked to the gates of the mansion and Lin Xuan Qi sent him on his way back to the Sima Family mansion.
"What’s it about?" Xue Cong asked him when she saw him with a smile on his face.
"Zhang Jie had given birth to a daughter and two days later it will be her first month celebration." Lin Xuan Qi said and Xue Cong was also happy for it.
"Help me think of a fitting gift for her." Lin Xuan Qi said and she nodded her head.
Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi also joined in the brainstorming.
But all of them had different ideas.
Xue Cong suggested having something practical, which was accessories like hairpins, necklaces, and jewelry for Sima Long’s daughter and Zhang Jie.
And as young mistresses since young, Yue Jie and Yue Xin suggested luxurious clothes instead.
Lastly, Liu Shi Shi, being someone who loved poetry, suggested stationery for writing and painting.
They thought their suggestions were the best and they couldn’t convince each other which was the better one to get.
Lin Xuan Qi finally gave up after the long session of discussion and said, "Don’t worry, I got the solution to it."
"So, which one do you think is the best?" All of them glanced at him and asked with anticipation in their eyes.
He shrugged his shoulders and gave them the answer, "Why waste our time choosing one?
"Only kids get forced to choose one out of many; as adults, we can just have it all."
"You sure?" Xue Cong asked and he nodded his head at her.
"Don’t worry, I will get it back twice when it’s my turn to celebrate." Lin Xuan Qi said with a smile while he glanced at the bellies of Xue Cong and Yue Xin.
