Chapter 528: Grand Ancestor Lin
Chapter 528: Grand Ancestor Lin
Ling Er slowly stepped out and she patted on her chest in relief when she saw Lao Er being safe and sound.
But even when she saw that Lao Er wasn’t hurt, she still asked, "Are you alright?"
Lao Er nodded his head at her and said, "I’m fine but that man..."
He turned his head and glanced in the direction where Lin Xuan Qi was.
"He is dead?" Ling Er frowned and asked.
Lao Er kept quiet and nodded his head at her again.
"So, where do we go now?"
"He told me that there’s something important inside the temple before he passed, something which would help us achieve what we want."
"Really?" Ling Er was wary and she wasn’t too sure about it.
But Lao Er was insistent about it.
"I’m pretty sure.
"That man had saved us from the other thugs and he was on the verge of dying when he told me that.
"I see no reason for him to lie to me in that condition." Lao Er said and it convinced Ling Er.
"Maybe we should tend to his body after we get what we want?" Ling Er suggested.
Lao Er also agreed to it and said, "Yeah. You are right, the least we can do is bury him in the ground. But first..."
He said and gestured for Ling Er to follow him.
Lin Xuan Qi, who was invisible and right there standing near them, shook his head when he heard their conversation.
So nice of them to think about ’tending’ to his body.
He followed them as they walked cautiously towards the temple.
When they reached the entrance of the temple, Lao Er gestured for Ling Er to wait by the side of the entrance, while he went in and had a look to see if it was safe first.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded approvingly at Lao Er for still being cautious when he was near the incense urn.
Many would have been too excited and become relaxed and careless, making it a deadly mistake for them.
Lao Er stepped over the doorstep of the temple and he tiptoed inside.
He saw the incense urn on the altar table and his eyes beamed with hope.
"Ling Er, come in." After he turned around, he waved for Ling Er to follow him and Ling Er did so.
He pointed at the incense urn and said, "Look, that’s the thing that the man told me to take with me."
Ling Er frowned and said, "But it looks like an ordinary incense urn."
"What do you mean by that?" Lao Er wanted to refute her but kept quiet after that. The incense urn was indeed ordinary looking.
Lin Xuan Qi smirked at them and he began with his performance.
He directed his Five-Element Qi to the incense urn and he channeled his thoughts to it.
"Who are you?" A low voice boomed in the air and it startled Lao Er and Ling Er.
"What? Who’s there?" Lao Er pulled Ling Er behind him and he glanced around looking for the person who spoke.
But there was no one around except for them.
"Where are you looking? I am right here on the altar table." The voice boomed again and Lao Er gasped when he heard Lin Xuan Qi.
"The... The incense urn?!" Lao Er pointed at the incense urn and asked.
"Yes, I’m trapped inside the incense urn.
"Bring the incense urn along with you and I shall teach you the way of cultivation."
Lao Er glanced at Ling Er after he heard the low booming voice, and Ling Er shook her head at him.
Who knows what this being inside the incense urn was up to?
Lin Xuan Qi frowned and thought that maybe being too cautious wasn’t the best. Especially when it was being cautious towards him.
He decided to give them the incentive to do so next.
"Are you a man of your words?" The low booming voice asked and Lao Er nodded his head.
"As a man, what would he be if he can’t even honor his words." Lao Er stood up straight and said with pride.
Too young, too naive. Lin Xuan Qi thought and went on with his next step of action.
"There are some Spirit Stones and a manuscript hidden somewhere in the temple that can help you cultivate. I can tell you where they are but you must promise to take the incense urn with you and be my disciple after that."
Lao Er and Ling Er’s eyes opened wide when they heard the words Spirit Stones and manuscript. These were what they had been looking for after they left their village searching for the way to cultivation.
And now, they could do so if they did what they were told.
Lao Er glanced over at Ling Er again, hesitant about whether to agree to it.
Lin Xuan Qi saw them hesitating and he decided to showcase some of his powers to convince them that it was the right move.
He channeled his Five-Element Qi into the incense urn and unleashed it into the surroundings.
Boom!
The Five-Element Qi radiated outwards, destroying some of the furniture and ornaments that were in the radius.
Lao Er and Ling Er were pushed back a few meters by the gust of wind that was emitted by his Five-Element Qi.
When they stopped, they glanced at the incense urn in awe.
"I need you to be my disciples to rebuild my sect and when you are powerful enough, you would then be able to release me from this Artifact."
The low voice boomed again and Lao Er and Ling Er were convinced of how powerful this being inside the incense urn was.
Lao Er cupped his hands at the incense urn and Ling Er did the same beside him.
"We are willing to be your disciples." Both of them said in unison and they bowed at the incense urn.
"Great. You can call me Grand Ancestor Lin."
"Yes, Grand Ancestor Lin."
Lin Xuan Qi smiled and nodded his head at them approvingly.
Finally, he had someone to help him build up his sect.
But it was not over, he continued and said, "The Spirit Stones and manuscript are behind the deity’s statue."
"Spirit Stones and the manuscripts!" Lao Er exclaimed excitedly when he saw the Spirit Stones and the manuscripts behind the statue.
He kept them together with Ling Er and after they were done, he stood in front of the incense urn and glanced at it.
