"What the hell!" They were astonished when they saw a trail of blood and no one in sight.
"Mao. Where are you?" Senior martial brother shouted but there was no response.
He turned to the side, held his hand up to his mouth and shouted, "Guang and Xiao, come over here."
Then, he waited.
But there was no response from Guang and Xiao either.
Just when he wanted to turn and ask the disciple that was beside him, he saw the disciple’s head jerk to the side.
The cheek of the disciple caved in and he knelt before he fell flat onto his face.
Senior martial brother held his sword tightly and glanced around frantically.
He tried to use his Spirit Qi to sense if there was anyone around.
But there was nothing.
No matter how he tried, the senior martial brother couldn’t sense anyone near him.
Lin Xuan Qi, who was still invisible, stood at the back of the senior martial brother and tilted his head at him.
He directed his Five-Element Qi and pulled back his arm, ready to pounce onto the senior martial brother.
Boom.
His fist broke the air and smashed onto the back of the senior martial brother’s head.
Flames shot out from his fist and an explosion ensued.
The senior martial brother tried to struggle by turning around and swinging his sword at whoever it was that was attacking him.
But Lin Xuan Qi had taken a few steps back before the blade of the sword could even reach him.
"I... will... make you...regret..." The senior martial brother was losing consciousness but he dropped his sword and reached into his sleeve pocket.
Before he could get whatever it was out, Lin Xuan Qi stopped him with another blow onto the head of the senior martial brother.
Splatter.
The head was smashed into a pulp with half of it gone.
Movement from the senior martial brother stopped and his body dropped to the ground in the next moment.
Lin Xuan Qi deactivated the effect of the invisible talisman and stepped forward.
He squatted down and checked the hand of the senior martial brother to see what it was that he was trying to retrieve.
The fingers of the senior martial brother grasped onto a wood pendant that had the words Kong Shan Sect carved into it.
He must have been trying to mark me for his fellow disciples to take revenge for him. Lin Xuan Qi thought and was reminded of the fact that these cultivators from any sects weren’t any better.
If he had been a moment late in decimating the senior martial brother, he might have been in some trouble by now.
Lin Xuan Qi rummaged through the belongings of the senior martial brother and found some more Spirit Stones, which was what he needed.
And now that Lao Er and Ling Er were safe with him around, he went over to the other bodies of the Kong Shan Sect disciples.
It was the same for the other disciples.
They only had Spirit Stones with them but he didn’t mind.
By now, he had about twenty Spirit Stones with him and they would be used as the starting resource for his new sect.
He went on and used his Spiritual Sense to check if Lao Er and Ling Er were still where they were.
Thankfully, they were still huddled together in the firewood shed.
It gave him the opportunity to do what was needed.
Lin Xuan Qi got into the old temple and saw that right in the middle of it was an altar table with an incense urn in front of the deity statue.
He proceeded to replace the incense urn with the Artifact that he bought from Wan Shou Fang and hid the Spirit Stones and the Snow Swan Sword Style manuscript he had behind the deity’s statue.
And after he was done, he went back outside to where the body of the senior martial brother was.
Lin Xuan Qi frowned before he dabbed some of the blood from the bodies onto his hands and clothes.

Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and thought before he lay down a distance away from the other two bodies.
Then, he gave out a cry in a coarse voice.
"Help me! I need help!"
Inside the firewood shed, Lao Er and Ling Er glanced at each other.
Their hearts thumped hard when they heard the calls from Lin Xuan Qi.
"Don’t go." Ling Er said and held onto the sleeve of Lao Er.
Lao Er frowned and hesitated.
"It might be a trap to lure us out." She went on and said.
Lao Er nodded his head and thought that she had a point.
However, he also thought about the other possibility and said, "But what if it was real and he is truly in need?"
Ling Er bit her lower lip and it was her turn to hesitate.
They were from a village and their families were ones that were relatively well off, but they were still villagers at the end of the day.
And they didn’t have any exposure to such situations before.
When Lin Xuan Qi sensed that they were still in the firewood shed without any movement, he didn’t know how to feel about it.
If they were naive enough to come looking for him without any hesitation, then he would have a lot to teach them before he would be comfortable enough to let them be on their own.
But if they didn’t come out from the firewood shed soon, someone else might arrive and mess up his plan.
Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and decided to up the ante.
"Help me please. These men tried to kill me but I managed to get rid of them. If there is anyone out there, help me please."
Lao Er glanced at Ling Er and he was tilting towards going out to have a look after hearing what Lin Xuan Qi had said.
Ling Er shook her head and said, "What if he was with them?"
Lao Er sighed and replied, "I shall take a peep and see if those cultivators are still around."
He decided to take a risk as it was also useless for them to be hiding in the firewood shed forever.
