"Arrogant prick!" The man, who was the embodiment of the heavens, roared. "I will—"

"What? Do you want to kill me?" Zhang Fei sneered. "How many times have you tried to kill me? The result? You fail every time! If you’re not satisfied with that, you can try again, but I will always thwart your plans!"

Long Wuzhao and all the cultivators present could clearly hear Zhang Fei’s loud voice, and they smiled bitterly as they listened to his words. Some of them thought he was being too arrogant, but many of them didn’t dare to think so because he was the only one who could move in the presence of those hidden forces.

"Tian." The man, who was the embodiment of the heavens, fell silent as soon as one of the women among them spokes. "Zhang Fei may be arrogant, but his words are also true. You have brought down his lightning tribulations countless times, and you even manifested yourself several times to kill him, but you always failed to do so."

Tian choked on his words and fiercely glared at the smug Zhang Fei. "Humph! I’ll kill him when he breaks through to the Celestial God Realm in the future!"

The others laughed when they heard that; Tian’s ears and face heated up as he glared at them.

The woman looked at Zhang Fei. "My name is Ming, and we came to talk to you about this universe."

"Ming? Fate?" Zhang Fei was a little surprised.

"That’s right." Ming waved her hand, and hundreds of chains emerged from the bodies of all the cultivators, including those hidden forces.

Long Wuzhao and the others were shocked by the appearance of those chains that bound them; they had never known about them before. However, their gazes were fixed on Zhang Fei and his four clones; those chains did not appear and bind their bodies. ’This? Why aren’t there any chains binding them?’

"As Xin told you before, you are the only living being who is not bound to this universe because you have died and come back to life."

"Xin?"

"Her," Ming pointed to Feng Yao.

"Oh? Xin is the core, right?" Ming nodded to Zhang Fei. "Why did you choose me? You are the hidden forces of this universe, and your strength is unmatched. Even if I use my full strength, I won’t be able to defeat either of you."

"Humph! You finally realized your weakness!" Tian snorted mockingly.

Zhang Fei narrowed his eyes. "If you keep acting like that, don’t blame me if I beat you up right here and now!"

"You bastard!" Tian wanted to move, but a young man immediately stopped him. "What are you doing, Jiang?"

Jiang shook his head slightly. "We didn’t come here to fight with Zhang Fei, and we need his help to save this universe, so you should hold back your anger. Otherwise, this universe will be destroyed, and all its inhabitants will be wiped out, including us."

’Saving the universe? Is there something going on without us knowing?’ The cultivators below pondered their thoughts.

Zhang Fei looked at Feng Yao, surprised to learn that all the disasters had started because of her selfish past decision.

Ming spoke. "Her decisions threw Yin and Yang in this universe out of balance, and the first disaster struck in the Primordial Realm. The second disaster occurred in the Ancient Realm, and you must have heard about it. Soon, the third disaster will occur in the Paradise Realm, and you should be able to guess the cause."

"Those shadowy creatures."

"Yes," Ming nodded. "The main creature was born along with this universe, and it was sealed within the core. It was freed after Xin decided to manifest herself, but it never made a move before because it was still too weak at the time. However, it has become increasingly powerful, so it decided to break out and order its subordinates to wreak havoc in this universe, and their main target is you."

"Why me?"

"Because you are the only living being that is not tied to this universe, Zhang Fei. If the main core manages to find you and take over your body, it will do whatever it wants to destroy this universe."

I just need to bring all my acquaintances to my soul world, and they will be safe there."

Tian’s facial muscles bulged out from under his skin, and he was eager to attack Zhang Fei, but the others immediately stopped him because he would never be able to defeat him.

Zhang Fei spoke to them again. "I no longer have any ties to the universe, and I also owe you nothing, so—"

"Her," Ming pointed at Feng Yao again. "It’s true that you no longer have any ties to this universe, so you don’t have to be responsible for its safety, but you don’t think about her fate."

"I won’t say anything now because my strength isn’t enough to face the main creature, and I even had to escape from its subordinates. However, you’re right that Feng Yao is my wife, and I won’t let her die along with this universe."
