Chapter 600 - 4: Peering
Chapter 600: Chapter 4: Peering
The same situation occurred everywhere.
Although the Supreme Council appears to be a cohesive entity, in reality, it is filled with various factions that may collaborate or conflict with each other. Hence, they try their best to win over any new member to bolster their faction’s strength.
In short,
Land of Fran, Land of Freedom, Land of Extreme Winter, Old Land… and even some powerful entities capable of shaping the contours of the vast Wizard World, at this moment, all had their eyes on Lynch, this newly ascended Domain Master.
…
Time flies, months passed in the blink of an eye.
Jade Land, Guardian Tower.
At the top floor of the Guardian Tower, Lynch was engrossed in an experiment concerning the effects of time acceleration on the decay of plant cells in his laboratory.
In a crystal petri dish, a magical fern, enveloped by a gray-green domain force field, was undergoing a full cycle of sprouting, flourishing, withering, and decaying at a speed visible to the naked eye. He meticulously recorded the energy fluctuations and rule imprints of each stage.
He seemed to be focusing intently on the experiment, yet a trace of inexplicable irritation, like fine dust, settled silently on his Spirit Perception.
Here it comes again.
Lynch felt as if something had locked its eyes on him.
That feeling… like a thorn in the back, like a shadow following closely. It’s as if an invisible eye had penetrated the barriers of space and traversed the passage of time, always watching him silently, devoid of any emotion.
This feeling wasn’t new; in fact, he had sensed it years ago, even before he ascended to the Domain, as if he had been targeted from a certain day onward.
He had tried countless times to probe and search using his spiritual power, but to no avail. Coupled with the fact that this feeling waxed and waned, Lynch brushed it off as a mental illusion caused by over stress.
However, after ascending to the Domain, as his spiritual power surged, this feeling became sharply distinct. Now he can be one hundred percent sure that it’s not an illusion but a real surveillance!
Someone has been spying on him!
Who is it?
What person?
And for what purpose?
No matter what the other party’s intentions are, since he has confirmed that someone is spying on him, Lynch must root out the perpetrator.
He continued to adjust the experimental parameters, while his spiritual power, like the most precise radar, silently and swiftly expanded from the Guardian Tower as the center to all directions. The power of the domain was condensed to its extremity, leaving only the pure and vast Perception power, like an invisible tidal wave sweeping over every inch of land, every wisp of air, every fold of space in the Guardian Valley.
He filtered through the myriad of information: the song of lake monsters, the breath of the crystal deer, the growth of flora, the pulse of rocks… and the elusive, omnipresent minute space ripple. Like a seasoned hunter, he held his breath, focusing, capturing that distinct “gaze” frequency from the endless background noise.
Time ticked by, wasting away in the lab filled only with the faint rustle of magical fern wilting into dust within the accelerated domain.
Suddenly!
In the northeastern corner of Guardian Valley, above a seemingly ordinary, subtly shadow-distorted valley, Lynch’s Perception captured an extremely faint, almost entirely fused with the background spatial fluctuation, residue of spiritual power!
This trace of spiritual power carried a strange emptiness and aloofness, like the reflection of moonlight passing through water. Without his total concentration and deeper understanding of space rules at this moment, detection would almost be impossible!
“Found you!”
A precise and intense light burst from Lynch’s eyes! The suppressed irritation and chill from recent months transformed instantly into tangible killing intent!
He immediately utilized the Space Teleportation Spell, and his figure was erased from its original spot as though wiped away by an eraser! This is the absolute control at the Domain level over one’s existence, an almost space-jumping terrifying maneuver!
In the next instant, he appeared above that tranquil valley! Without any pause, not even clarifying the target’s specific shape, he made a slicing gesture towards the void where the residual spiritual force converged most densely and the space distortion was strongest!
“Screech——!!!”
A “Space Blade” composed purely of highly concentrated Space Power shot out noiselessly! Where it passed, the air was neatly sliced open, leaving a temporary dark mark, and the light distorted shattered! This strike was fierce, swift, carrying all the mighty authority and fury of Lynch’s new domain mastery, enough to cleave a mountain silently in two!
Rumble!!!
The Space Blade struck precisely into the seemingly empty void! The envisioned scene of tearing space and exposing the voyeur did not happen. The Space Blade seemed to plunge into a viscous, invisible “water,” erupting with a thunderous muffled roar! The hit space concaved and distorted violently inward, like a transparent crystal struck by a heavy hammer, suddenly covered in web-like, silver-glowing spatial cracks!
Immediately after, the concave distorted space, as if unable to withstand the pressure, made a “crash” sound—not breaking, but smoothly “parting” to the sides like a water curtain!
A figure accompanied by scattered space fragments and ripples, stepped lightly out from the forcibly “torn” spatial rift, landing gently on the soft grass of the valley.
It was a girl.
She had a slender figure, donned in a moon-white long robe of simple yet ancient style, with silvery Space Runes flickering like breaths along the robe’s edges. Her silver-white hair, reaching to her ankles, flowed like a waterfall woven from moonlight, moving with the breeze, its ends seemingly twinkling with starlight in annihilation and rebirth.
Her features were as delicately perfect as the finest sculpture, yet carried a non-human ethereal and indifference, as if untouched by worldly dust. Most striking were her eyes—not human pupils, but two continuously rotating, birth-and-death micro silver vortexes, deep as if containing the endless starry sky and void.
She stood there silently, without any strong energy fluctuations escaping from her vicinity, yet Lynch instantly felt a suffocating oppression originating from the spatial rules level! It was as though she herself was a part of the space, the dominator of this valley’s rules!
The silver-haired girl raised her vortex-like eyes, gazing calmly at Lynch in the air, her gaze devoid of surprise or anger, only a serene inquisitiveness. An ethereal voice, seemingly resonating directly within the soul, echoed clearly:
“Pleased to meet you, Mr. Lynch. Your Perception is sharper than anticipated.”
