Chapter 450 - 15: Negotiation
Chapter 450: Chapter 15: Negotiation
Really?
The Eye of Death God actually contains a set of Rule Power?
Although the old man spoke with such confidence, Lynch was still a bit skeptical, as he hadn’t known anything about this before.
Excited?
A little, but not too much.
After all, the Rule Level is still too far away for him. Currently, he is merely a Second Tier Mystic Wizard, not even reaching the Late-stage Mystical Level. Beyond that, there are five more Mystical Circuits that need cultivation, and even after mastering them, there remains the long journey of the Third-tier Domain Level to traverse…
Even with the help of the system and the acceleration of the Time Hut, Lynch feels that reaching the Rule Level might take him hundreds or thousands of years, or even longer.
This is not him underestimating himself.
The Rule Level belongs to those at the very pinnacle of the Wizard World’s hierarchy, second only to Truth.
In the Wizard World’s history of over ten thousand years, countless have embarked on the Wizard’s Road, yet only a small group have ultimately reached this level.
As far as Lynch knows, there are now just a few dozen who have reached the Rule Level and are still alive, and without exception, they are all well-known figures in the entire Wizard World, capable of causing huge upheavals with just a step.
Lynch humbly inquired, “How can it be activated?”
In any case, this is good news.
One must know that this thing called Rules isn’t something you can pick up like cabbage from the streets. Currently, out of the two hundred-plus Witch Domains, only a handful possess a rule system.
For these Witch Domains, this is the core of their core, something utterly impossible to be shared externally.
This includes Lynch’s hometown, the Ancient Ruins. Even if you turn the entire place over, you can’t find a single rule system. Third-tier Wizards from the four major Wizard Organizations, including the Black Tower, are still exploring the Rules.
Now, if his eyes truly hold a Rule, that would be an unimaginable treasure.
Abbas smiled and shook his head, “It’s not that easy. The Death Rule of the Eye of Death God cannot be activated by strength alone; it involves many complex steps and requires a lot of rare materials.”
He paused and said earnestly, “You cannot unlock its abilities all by yourself.”
Lynch frowned.
Well then…
So, after all this, that’s what he’s been waiting for…
Lynch thought for a moment and decided to stop beating around the bush. He nodded and then hesitated, saying, “Indeed. Your… assumptions are indeed correct. I deciphered some content from the Soul Fragments in the Underground City…”
He hadn’t even finished his sentence when it was visibly clear that Abbas’s expression had changed; his gaze became much sharper, and his face even flushed with a hint of excitement.
Abbas asked in a hoarse voice, “Is it… related to space?”
Lynch hesitated for a moment, then casually swiped beside him.
Where his finger passed, space instantly split to both sides, tearing a slit about an inch long, as if tearing open that piece of space.
Abbas’s pupils contracted sharply, “Tearing space!”
“Tearing space barehanded!”
He stared intently at Lynch, taking a deep breath involuntarily: “You have truly acquired the Space Power of the Eternal Tower!!!”
Actually, it wasn’t hard to imagine this answer.
Lynch had been entrenched in this Jade Land for not a day or two, but for decades.
In these decades, it’s evident that he had seen Transcendent Influence, established the Adventurer Guild, invested a lot of Magic Stones on ordinary humans, even going so far as to transform them with Extraordinary Power, sending them to explore the Underground City.
With such large-scale actions, consuming so many resources, who would believe there wasn’t a benefit to gain from it?
And what is the greatest gain in the Underground City? The answer is apparent.
Abbas became excited, “Wonderful, we finally won’t have to be trapped in this tiny area anymore. The sea of stars, endless dimensions, the true Land of Eternity, those are places we Wizards should explore.”
He stood up abruptly, then bowed to Lynch sincerely, “Mr. Lynch, allow me to express my gratitude on behalf of the Star Tower… no, on behalf of Fran, and all Wizards in the Wizard World, for your outstanding contribution today. It may very well propel our civilization forward, opening the way to new horizons!”
Well!
Just like that, I get a huge accolade placed upon my head.
Lynch hurriedly said, “I think you should calm down a bit. I haven’t agreed to anything, nor did I promise you anything.”
Abbas sat back in his chair, straightened his back.
He confidently stated, “Name your terms.”
Just sitting there, he naturally exuded an aura as if everything was in his control, as if no matter how outrageous Lynch’s conditions might be, he could agree to them.
Is this the top-tier Wizard of the top Witch Domain?
As Lynch pondered, he said, “Firstly, I need to tell you that decoding these knowledge fragments from the Underground City is my personal secret, you cannot ask how I did it, nor can you force me to pass on the method. Promise this, and we can continue our discussion.”
Abbas nodded without hesitation, “Agreed.”
They have been secretly investigating Lynch for quite some time, and the idea of uncovering the Ancient Ruins wasn’t a first for them, but figuring out how to extract useful knowledge from these chaotic Soul Fragments has always been an unsolvable problem.
If there were indeed another way, or if someone else could decode it, this meeting wouldn’t even be happening today.
Use force?
It’s an option, but not a good one. Using force without knowing the other party’s background for such exclusive abilities can lead to entirely uncontrollable consequences.
Moreover, for Fran, which stands at the very top of the Wizard World, maintaining a certain decorum is necessary…
In conclusion,
For Fran, lacking resources isn’t an issue; problems that can be resolved through trade aren’t really problems.
Upon seeing the other party agree readily, Lynch was slightly relieved inside.
He was most worried that the other party would not only want the knowledge he painstakingly extracted from the Underground City but also the secrets he harbors internally. If that were the case, there’d be nothing to negotiate; he’d just erase himself and flee…
However, if they merely want knowledge from him, then there’s a way to talk things through.
Lynch nodded, “If that’s the case, let’s talk…”
