“I don’t know what just happened, but I am suddenly bursting at the seams with power!” The Archmage exclaimed as he examined his human hand. However, there was an expression of joy on his chiseled face. “We have finally returned to this world! My apprentice, you did it! You made my dream, which I’ve nursed for thousands of years, come true!”
The Archmage was not the only Voidwalker to regain his human form; other Voidwalkers that had Pseudo-descended to the real world begun to get their bodies back. Mirages of the Voidwalkers at the prime would appear out of thin air and envelop their suit-of-armor bodies, creating their real human bodies. Out of nowhere, the Voidwalkers’ deepest desires had been fulfilled.
When the mirages came in contact with the suits of armor, the armors burst into flames, black flames, like a phoenix being reborn. Flesh grew rapidly, and iron receded like a tide. The injuries made on their suit of armors did not appear on the growing flesh, and in seconds, their human bodies were back, filled with immense power. The Voidwalkers had returned to their primes!
“Nani?! What the heck did that tyrannical Admin do this time?!” The human Engineer Walker exclaimed as he examined his flesh with wide eyes.
“Whatever he did, exceeds our comprehension,” the human Knight Walker murmured, flexing his arms in shock. Like the others, he had regained his body. His cheeks were chubby, and his face resembled that of a mountain bandit.
The Knight Walker could feel immense power rushing through his arm as he flexed it, causing his muscles to protrude. The Voidwalker felt unstoppable!
“Our enemies aren’t moving; it looks like they’ve suffered something akin to a connection error. Weird, huh?” The Soul Armature Practitioner chuckled. He took a small mirror out of his storage pouch and stared at it, watching a DILF1 on the other side of the mirror staring back at him. He was way more handsome than the ‘chiseled’ Archmage, the ‘mountain bandit’ Knight Walker, and the ‘horny weeaboo’ Engineer Walker.
“Did time stop for them?” The Blacksmith Walker, who had now become dwarf, his real race, asked, looking at the angels in surprise.
“I think so. My student seems to have gained extraordinary powers!” The Archmage replied, grinning with pride. “This leaves us with a very critical question…”
“What should we do now that our enemies are frozen in time?”
“Foolish question. We ought to assume dramatic posses and explain our powers, at length!”
“That’s stupid. This is the time to show off our ‘stand’1! Otherwise, we can throw a lot of flying knives at them.”
“Weak. We should find a steamroller and activate ‘Road Roller Da!’1”
“No, you fools! This is the perfect time for us to poke our heads with our fingers, maniacally1!”
The Voidwalkers spent some time arguing about this, without reaching a conclusion. Mia and the Ancient Rohlserlian Sorcerers Corps watched on in silence, lambasting the Voidwalkers in their minds.
The time freeze soon ended, and the angels regained their mobility. However, they instantly froze — of their volition, this time. Only a second ago, they were beating up some suits of armor, but now, they were faced with more than a million human foes. The angels could not help looking at each other in confusion.
“It looks like that is no longer up for discussion!” The Archmage said, and the ancient black book in his hand transformed into a golden scepter. He soared into the air, hovering above the Ancient Rohlserlian Sorcerers Corps, and said, “Let’s do this! We’re going to show these no-good pigeons what humans are capable of!”
A formation appeared in front of the Archmage, and similar but smaller formations appeared in front of the sorcerers. Magic lines appeared, connecting the formations into a bigger and more powerful formation!
This was the true extent of the Sage-Emperor of the Magi’s magical might. With a million elite sorcerers backing him, the speed, range, and damage of every Forbidden Spell in the Book of Servitude was magnified manyfold. Everyone was bound to tremble before the height of human magic!
“Claws of Tonarus! Deal with them!” The Archmage bellowed. Claw of Tonarus was a highly-advanced Forbidden wind spell that required a long time to cast, but because the Archmage cooperated with his elite sorcerers, he was able to cast it in a second.
A mighty cyclone — big enough to make Arfin City look really small — came into being. Its power rivaled that of the tornado that Baal summoned earlier. The fierce cyclone blew the angels in and around Arfin City away. Just like that, Arfin City was no longer surrounded by enemies!
“Yes. I don’t need to hold back anymore!” Finally rid of the limiter on his power, the Knight Walker howled in delight, like a terrifying beast that was just unchained. Golden combat chi — a form that energy only Demigod-level fighters could use — burst out of the Knight Walker so forcefully that he was propelled into the air.
His sword vibrated a high frequency, causing it to emit a low but fierce hum. Without further ado, the Knight Walker began to execute every sword technique he created during his time in the Void. The Voidwalker sliced an angel’s wing as easily as a chef would slice tofu.
Before the angel could cry out, the sword pierced its chest. Using momentum to great effect, the Knight Walker used the slain angel as a springboard to leap towards the next unfortunate angel, who he decimated just as easily. The Knight Walker moved so fast that he flashed through the school of angels without falling from the sky.
The people below could only see a thin line zipping through the thick crowd of angels in the sky. Every angel that encountered this thin line would freeze in mid-action as though time had stopped again.
Golden light burst out from within the crowd of angels as the Knight Walker used the last of his combat chi, after which he dived and landed heavily. As the Knight Walker sheathed his sword, the frozen angel, who were unfortunate to encounter the thin line in the sky, suddenly screamed as black flames enveloped them, leaving behind a shower of sparks.
“Hmph!” The Archmage snorted. “Less flashy, more efficient, okay?” While the Knight Walker had been reaping lives in the sky, the Archmage had been shooting down as many angels as he could. Each time he looked up, the palm-sized formation above his palms would lit up and fire a purple light beam. The Archmage moved so fast, his speed rivaled that of high-speed machine guns.
“Why is everyone and their mother showing off, except me? Why am I the only one still getting beat up?” The Engineer Walker lamented. Although he had regained his human body, he still was not a combatant. His other marionettes were destroyed earlier, and the spider marionette was not available at this time. Thus, all he could do was dodge the angels’ ranged attacks whilst rummaging through his storage pouch, hoping to find something that could be put to use.
After a seemingly long period of time, during which he narrowly dodged many attacks, the Engineer Walker took out something that resembled a World War Two radio transceiver. It had a long antenna and telephone handle.
“Aha! Almost forgot about this little babe!” The Engineer Walker’s face brightened. He used the transceiver to radio his students at Da Xue. “Quick, fetch my second-gen prototypes!”
“But, sir, they have not been cleared for use yet. None of the control systems we have can pilot them!” A student hurriedly replied.
“I don’t care! Send those things over right now! Use the rockets so that they can get here fast!” The Engineer Walker hollered.
A few seconds later, five futuristic vehicles arrived. The delighted Engineer Walker quickly boarded one of them and began to calibrate it as fast as he could. “I feel that I can do this instantly! My brain has not been this clear in a long, long time! I’m in the zone, the best zone I’ve ever been in!” The Engineer Walker murmured.
He was right. In a few seconds, V-shaped antennae emerged from atop the futuristic cars, which bore an uncanny resemblance to space pods. The antennae began to spin, and their space pods began to transform. In a second, these space pods had transformed into five new marionettes that were ten meters tall. Their neon coats gave the marionettes a futuristic air.
“Arise, my Gundams!” The Engineer Walker called out, pressing a button on his controller, which he had taken out at an unknown point in time. The five marionettes took to the air and produced their weapons: light-based swords, rifles that fired bullets of light, and a great number of grenades. With their weapons at the ready, the marionettes charged towards the angels!
These marionettes were products of magic, not science, so one would expect them to fall quickly; however, the marionettes proved otherwise. This was enough to make anyone wonder if the Engineer Walker’s thought-process was faster when he is under duress!
As the sole pilot of the five Gundam-like marionettes, the Engineer Walker’s fingers hit the controller’s buttons at superhuman speed. Under his control, the marionettes executed killer combo after killer combo!
“Hahahahaha! A toast to the dream of a Gundam-model enthusiast coming true!” The Engineer Walker cheered. His exhilaration fueled him with energy, and his hand speed kept increasing. In only a short period of time, his marionettes took out a dozen more angels!
While the Voidwalkers capitalized on their restored abilities, Mia hurried towards Tisdale.
With tears in each other’s eyes, both girls hugged. After a while, Tisdale sniffled and said, “I thought I’d never see you again!”
“Aww, Big Sister Dale! You shouldn’t worry about me. Don’t you know how strong I’ve become?” Mia smiled and pulled out her hammerhead shark plushie underneath her skirt. “This time, I’ll protect you!”
Mia raised the plushie with both arms and shouted, “Take a spin, Sharkie!”
