Chapter 83 - 83 Vanished
83 Vanished
Luo Ying made a grab for the man’s dagger, but the man suddenly fell backward.
Standing behind the fat man was a man in a black suit. He had a mask and a baseball cap on, but a section of his red hair was exposed.
“Third Brother!” Luo Ying shouted.
The man subdued Wu Wei, stood up, and wanted to say something to Luo Ying. The door behind Luo Ying was suddenly pushed open, and Luo Ying turned around to look.
Lu Zhao’s men had arrived and surrounded Wu Wei.
Lu Zhao strode in and held Luo Ying in his arms. “What took you so long? You made me so worried.”
Lu Zhao’s embrace was warm. Luo Ying looked up to see her Third Brother again, but he was already gone.
“Lu Zhao,” she said, frozen in place. “Someone just saved me, but he vanished.”
Lu Zhao slowly let go of Luo Ying and frowned. “Vanished? What do you mean?”
Luo Ying’s eyes wandered around. The people who came were all Lu Zhao’s men, and there was no sign of her brother.
“No, he was clearly here just now.” Luo Ying was a little anxious. “He was in a biker’s suit.”
“A man in the ladies’ room?” Lu Zhao frowned dubiously. However, he still ruffled Luo Ying’s hair. “There are surveillance cameras here. I’ll find this person.”
Lu Zhao brought Luo Ying back to her room.
Luo Ying’s heart was still racing.
Perhaps she could let Lu Zhao investigate this matter. Lu Zhao held considerable power over the city, so she could perhaps track down her Third Brother.
However, if he was traveling between two different worlds, it would not be so easy to find him.
Luo Ying’s mood became downcast.
“What’s wrong? Do you want to go home?” Lu Zhao asked.
Luo Ying shook her head. “No, I just feel like drinking.”
Lu Zhao asked his men to bring whiskey and other spirits.
“You can drink whatever you want. I’m here. Even if you get drunk, I’ll protect you.”
Luo Ying nodded and looked at the various drinks on the table. She really needed to drown her sorrows.
Luo Ying opened the bottle and drank one glass after another.
Why was she here? Why did she have to go through all this? Why did she have to be separated from her brothers? Why had she fallen for this man?
She could not understand it at all.
After several glasses, she finally loosened up. She leaned into Lu Zhao’s arms, her eyes misty.
Lu Zhao’s eyes turned cold. “Let’s call it a day, we’re going home.”
When the others heard Lu Zhao’s words, they quickly left.
After everyone had left, Luo Ying still lay on the table. “Why did you all leave? I still want to drink.”
Her hand gently wrapped around Lu Zhao’s arm. “I want more. Give me the wine.”
The smell of alcohol had mixed with her fragrance. Lu Zhao felt his mind wandering, and strange thoughts swirled in his mind. He kind of wanted to take that woman right there and then.
However, his rationality won over his lust.
He carried Luo Ying to the car.
Luo Ying was barely conscious, talking nonsense in Lu Zhao’s arms.
“What do you think I should do?” Luo Ying hugged Lu Zhao, her eyes dazed.
“You said you wouldn’t leave me.” Lu Zhao’s hot breath blew into her ear.
“I don’t know when I’ll leave either. What should I do, Lu Zhao? I don’t seem to want to leave you.” Luo Ying sounded sorrowful as she spoke.
A hint of sorrow flashed through Lu Zhao’s eyes.
“I won’t. I won’t let you leave me this time.” He held the woman tightly in his arms.
Luo Ying soon fell asleep.
Luo Ying didn’t wake up until she was put on the bed by the man.
“Why am I here? Weren’t we at Wave Domain?” Luo Ying’s voice was slow. She sat up and looked at the room, feeling a splitting headache.
“You fell asleep, so I brought you back. This is some hangover soup. Have a sip.” Lu Zhao helped Luo Ying up and fed her the soup, spoon by spoon.
The soup had a sweet, herbal fragrance, and Luo Ying enjoyed it. She half-squinted her eyes in satisfaction and leaned on Lu Zhao.
“Lu Zhao, you’re so good. Will you always be this good to me?”
Lu Zhao hummed in acknowledgment and gently put her back on the bed, helping her into her pajamas.
Luo Ying lay on the bed and slowly fell asleep.
