Chapter 3071 - 3072: Phonology
Chapter 3071: Chapter 3072: Phonology
Medicine box? Laplace looked at Angel with confusion, not quite understanding why he brought a medicine box into the Buffer Zone.
Angel: "Walk and talk."
Angel walked to the side and gently extended his hand, the wall in front of him slowly disappeared, revealing a narrow passage glowing with a slight red light.
The passage connects to the Heart Space.
Angel went in first, followed by Laplace.
"The medicine box contains two bowls of soup that I bought outside, called Witch’s Soup, prepared for the Star Servant." Angel: "One is called Grass No.1 Witch’s Soup, and the other is called Lucia’s Heart Witch’s Soup."
Angel briefly introduced the effects of the two types of Witch’s Soup and shared his idea —
Use Grass No.1 Witch’s Soup to extract the remaining Telekinesis inside the Star Servant, then use the Heart Witch’s Soup to construct a Telekinesis cycle inside the Star Servant.
If this idea succeeds, the Star Servant should be able to resume the practice of Telekinesis.
"Are you interested in that youth inside the jug?" Laplace asked curiously.
Angel: "I’m interested in the mysterious artifacts."
Ever since he learned from Laplace about the mystical artifacts of Hante World, Angel became very interested. However, Mind Masters are rare in the Southern Domain, and even if encountered, they might not be from the Telekinesis series.
Angel couldn’t go to the Hante World in the short-term, so he could only place his hope on the youth inside the jug.
The Star Servant is undoubtedly a Mind Master of the Telekinesis series, and the "Wish Book" he materialized remains in the Heart Space. Once the Star Servant restores his Telekinesis, the Wish Book should be able to reactivate.
The abilities on the Wish Book are actually quite limited, not as practical as Wizard’s Spell Techniques, but since it is a materialized product, Angel is very eager to know how an activated Wish Book operates?
Laplace: "That Star Servant has lost memory and hasn’t fully regained sanity yet. Even if you bring these two bowls of Witch’s Soup, you might have to wait some time before using them."
Angel: "I understand that."
He just brought them in ahead; after all, the Heart Space is large enough to serve as a storage. When the Star Servant can use the Witch’s Soup, they can be activated directly.
As they conversed, the narrow passage welcomed a beam of light.
Breaking through the light wall before them, Angel and Laplace returned to the Heart Space.
The Heart Space was as tranquil as ever, its walls transparent, allowing the tides of memory from the Sea of Void Mirror outside to be visible as they rise and fall constantly.
Nearby, there was a Mana Hut composed of Nightmare Illusion.
Through the open window of the Mana Hut, they could see someone inside, bent over a desk, writing furiously.
This person is Luigi.
Even when Angel and Laplace opened the door of the Mana Hut, Luigi was unaware, absorbed in the small booklet in his hands — "Piano Psychology."
Suddenly, Luigi seemed to recall something, jumping up: "I understand now! If only I add a rhyme like this at the end of the first stanza, then..."
Luigi muttered incomprehensible words while turning around, heading towards the door.
From Luigi’s lowered eyebrows, it was clear that he hadn’t noticed the two people standing at the door.
Until he saw a strand of silver hair flash before him, Luigi slowly lifted his head, speaking in a surprised tone: "Oh, how did you get here?"
Before Angel and Laplace could reply, Luigi interjected: "I’ll talk to you in a while, I’ve figured out how to solve it... can’t get distracted."
With that, Luigi brushed past them and left the Mana Hut.
When leaving the door, Luigi didn’t forget to take his harp.
Angel and Laplace watched as Luigi swiftly moved to one side of the Heart Wall, pressing on a floating green light point in mid-air.
Accompanied by swirls of illusionary light, a solemn indoor illusion realm spread out from the green light point as the center.
Angel and Laplace were also enveloped within the illusion realm.
Angel naturally wasn’t unfamiliar with this illusion realm because it was originally left behind by him. Laplace, however, was seeing it for the first time, scanning the surroundings: rows of black seats, the towering and unique ceiling, encircling second-floor balcony, the central stage, and an extraordinarily luxurious piano.
"Is this... a theater?"
Angel nodded: "Yes, this is my simulation of a grand theater in the Wilderness of Dreams, the Marine Theater."
Following Angel’s introduction, Laplace heard footsteps from the stage, and as she looked up, she saw an elderly-looking man in a tailcoat standing before the piano.
Meanwhile, Luigi holding his harp, took his place on the other side of the stage.
The elderly man said little and directly sat at the piano, soon followed by a flowing note...
Laplace didn’t have much appreciation for art, but from her shallow impression, she found the notes surrounding the theater enchanting.
However, as Laplace listened, a strange feeling arose within her heart: although the piano sounded beautiful, something seemed to be missing. Yet Laplace couldn’t pinpoint what exactly.
As she pondered, a melodious harp sound blended into the surrounding melody.
Undoubtedly, this harp sound came from Luigi.
With the addition of the harp, Laplace immediately felt a difference; the previous sense of "missing" seemed fulfilled, the notes became rounder and more harmonious, even her wandering thoughts couldn’t help but follow the music, entering a fantastical and splendid musical world.
Time swiftly passed, as the piano and harp played the last note together, the heavenly light brightened, yet there was no noise.
Celestial silence, great music in tranquility.
Angel and Laplace stayed immersed in this beautiful atmosphere for quite a while until the surrounding theater illusion disappeared, and they slowly regained their senses.
Compared to them, Luigi was even more immersed; despite the disappearance of the illusion realm, he remained silently holding his harp, a smile lingering at the corner of his mouth, clearly still lingering in the aftertaste.
"Is this the method you helped Luigi use to decipher ’Uriel’s Choice’?" Laplace whispered.
She didn’t understand what the theater illusion meant before, but seeing Luigi and that elderly man perform the celestial music together, she immediately realized. This scene, if you replaced the theater with that rundown two-story building, isn’t it the instance ’Uriel’s Choice’?
Luigi had always been unable to tackle ’Uriel’s Choice,’ so did Angel use this method to help him?
Angel: "It’s not me helping; it’s my teacher’s method. According to my teacher, Uriel’s music is too random, and to truly decipher it, one’s musical artistry must surpass Uriel’s. But Luigi does not possess such artistry yet, so he could only choose a shortcut."
And how to take a shortcut? Naturally, it is a method Jon is most familiar with: the Sea of Questions Tactic.
The Sea of Questions Tactic is not necessarily the best, but when it comes to exams, it is an optimal choice.
Jon also bombarded Angel with the Sea of Questions Tactic.
He didn’t require Angel to understand these questions, only that he would not be stuck when encountering similar knowledge. To put it plainly, it’s not about advancing, but about broadening.
Only with a broad base of knowledge can one assess various cognitive perspectives from different angles and have a clearer understanding of this world.
This was Jon’s thought before knowing of the existence of the Transcendent.
Yet it was precisely this unconventional thought that nurtured the one-of-a-kind Angel.
Laplace: "Though I don’t know if it worked, from Luigi’s expression, he seems to have gained a lot."
While Laplace was saying this, Luigi had already come back to his senses from the lingering echoes and walked to Angel with joy: "Does my assignment count as passed by the teacher?"
Angel stroked his chin: "It should count as passed, right?"
"Should?" Luigi was taken aback.
Angel shrugged: "You can’t meet my teacher now, and he doesn’t know whether you’ve passed. Everything can only be confirmed after I convey your performance to the teacher."
"However, if it were up to me to judge, I personally think it should be passed... your performance was perfect."
Luigi chuckled: "The materials left by the teacher happened to fit the topic perfectly."
After a pause, Luigi looked at Angel with anticipation: "You came over now, you must have brought today’s assignment for me, right? Can I see today’s materials?"
Angel coughed: "The assignment and materials... aren’t ready yet. The teacher at least wants to see your progress first to provide tailored instruction. I’ll discuss it with the teacher later to arrange new materials for you."
Although Luigi was somewhat disappointed, he understood. After all, he just cracked the performance piece Jon left, and feedback would take time.
"Then I’ll go study ’Piano Psychology’ again. I must say, our teacher is truly amazing. It’s just a thin booklet that can be read in minutes, but the content leaves me wanting more. Each time I read it, I have a brand new understanding. Is this the legendary Art as the Bible?"
After a heartfelt sigh, Luigi ignored everything else and eagerly ran back to the Mana Hut, continuing to delve passionately into the book he revered as the Bible, ’Piano Psychology.’
Angel understood Luigi’s engrossed behavior well. This is the obsession of an ardent art enthusiast with music.
As for Laplace, she didn’t mind Luigi’s behavior but was more interested in another point.
"If there’s an Art Bible, there should also be a Fishing Bible, right?"
Angel maintained a smile, with a look of not hearing anything, then went off to the side and used a Nightmare Illusion to construct a warehouse, where he placed the medicine boxes he brought in from outside.
After finishing everything, Angel moved to the side and started manipulating the limbs and the physical manipulator of the Heart Space, preparing to explore the Sea of Void Mirror.
He wasn’t interested in fishing, but he was very interested in treasure hunting.
Especially this kind of cost-free treasure hunting; it’s all profit. Who wouldn’t be tempted?
Unfortunately, Luigi was originally meant to do the treasure hunting, but Luigi was completely immersed in music, with no time to consider anything else.
There was no one else here, so he had to take a break and do it himself.
Angel operated the limbs, letting the Heart Space slowly move through the Sea of Void Mirror... Feeling the surging waves of the Sea of Void Mirror, Angel felt very satisfied.
Treasure hunting is the ultimate goal. And the process of treasure hunting, seeing memories flowing in from various worlds, is an added delight.
Sometimes, one could see very "interesting" scenes.
For instance, right now, Angel saw a battlefield scene from an unknown world.
Or rather, Angel originally thought it was a battlefield. In fact, it was the behavior of two Magical Creatures reproducing offspring. Their actions were so great that one even had half its body bitten off, which led Angel to misunderstand.
Though it looked brutal, according to Laplace, this was normal. Not all creatures are like humans, who will greet the arrival of offspring with complete preparation; many creatures’ offspring come unexpectedly, and to reproduce, they need nutrition. Without nutrition, they can only consume each other.
Angel wandered in the Sea of Void Mirror for a good half-day without encountering anything tangible, but the memory images he saw still left him satiated.
After enjoying himself, Angel didn’t forget the two other purposes he had for coming to the Heart Space.
Firstly, to focus on the distribution status of the log-in devices on Glaipnir’s side. After all, the full recruitment for the Circus was about to begin, and if no one was there, they might end up returning a second time.
Secondly, to ask Laplace about her views on time series abilities.
The reason Angel chose to ask Laplace was mainly that he thought the creatures in the Mirror Domain seemed to be somewhat related to time series... after all, the Three Temporal Bodies ability sounds like a time series ability.
Especially Laplace’s avatar was quite special. So Angel wanted to see what Laplace thought of time series abilities.
Regarding Angel’s inquiry, Laplace did not hide anything, directly reporting the progress on Glaipnir’s side... which was still promising, with Charles Palace already ready for registration, and they could enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams at any time.
As for the second question, Laplace also truthfully expressed her view and gave a clear answer to Angel’s doubt.
"As it stands currently, Temporal Body and time series abilities should have no direct connection," Laplace said. "In the words of your Wizards, this is more like a talent or instinct of the mirror inhabitants."
"But if we trace the origin of the Temporal Body ability, the answer might not be the same. The Temporal Body, whether in the Universal Language of the continent or the language of mirror creatures, contains the meaning of time. Perhaps in the ancient origin Temporal Body of mirror creatures, there was a time nature... but it certainly doesn’t now."
"As for time series abilities... I don’t know much, I’ve just seen some relevant memories."
