Chapter 2878 - 2879: Crystal

Chapter 2878: Chapter 2879: Crystal

Angel has created the "Wilderness of Dreams" for the third time now, and he’s quite adept at it.

The first step is to activate the Dream Conch using the Power of Nightmare Illusion.

The essence of this step is actually to open up an independent space in the gap between the Dream Realm and the Nightmare Realm. This space is currently in a chaotic state, with unknown size, location, and internal structure.

This space, simply put, is the — embryo of the Nightmare Realm.

The second step is to draw any current world object into the dream using the Dream Conch.

In this context, it means pulling the bottle whale from the Mirror World into the "embryo of the Nightmare Realm."

This step is to allow the Nightmare Realm to truly take shape, locate its unknown place, and connect the Mirror World with the Nightmare Realm, constructing a special channel based on the Dream Bridge.

At this point, the Nightmare Realm has already emerged from chaos, constructing a new, stable "Wilderness of Dreams," each point based on three worlds with their unique laws.

The third step is Angel’s job. He needs to sense the location of the bottle whale to confirm whether the Nightmare Realm construction is successful, and whether the Nightmare Realm Power is connected.

Angel is now at this stage.

The moment he closed his eyes, his mind had already crossed the Dream Bridge, standing in front of the "Gate of Dreams," with the power of the "Gatekeeper," perceiving the location of the bottle whale.

Angel can faintly feel a new space, or a "new world," connecting with the power he possesses in the Wilderness of Dreams.

The whole process proceeds without the slightest hindrance.

Soon, Angel feels that all the basic powers of the Wilderness of Dreams he possesses have returned to normal operation.

It’s worth noting that since Angel arrived in the Mirror World, all powers had dimmed. Now, countless points of light have illuminated again on the Ability Tree, which means—

The new world has already opened its door for him!

New world, new Wilderness of Dreams, new scenes. Thinking of all these, undoubtedly, Angel must be thrilled.

But Angel also understands, this is not the time for excitement.

The last time in the Abyss, he had a similar experience, creating the Wilderness of Dreams, but ended with a shattered conclusion.

Therefore, Angel is very aware that the key now is to first lock onto the location of the bottle whale.

As long as he finds the bottle whale, he can bring Laplace into the new Nightmare Realm.

Furthermore, if a Dream Realm Eliminator really appears, Laplace’s bottle whale might possibly intimidate the opponent.

Only by resisting the Eliminator, the newborn Wilderness of Dreams can truly succeed.

Calming his fluctuating emotions, Angel began manipulating the power of the Gatekeeper, sensing the location of the bottle whale.

About half a minute later, Angel opened his eyes.

"Found it." Angel murmured softly.

Laplace didn’t know what Angel was doing, curiously asked, "Found what?"

Angel didn’t provide an answer, instead said, "It’s hard to explain now, Lady Laplace might as well go see for herself?"

"What do you mean, where to look?" Laplace was silent for a moment: "Do you mean in the dream?"

Angel nodded: "Yes, please do not resist."

Laplace didn’t quite understand what Angel meant by "do not resist," when she felt a special energy striking her brow.

This energy, while not malicious nor killing intent, is ultimately extraordinary energy and Laplace instinctively wanted to drive it away. But just then, Angel’s voice sounded again.

"Please do not resist, I mean no harm. There are many things I can’t say directly, but Lady Laplace can see with her eyes... all the answers are in the dream."

Angel’s words put Laplace into a moment of contemplation.

Seconds later, Laplace ultimately chose to give up her resistance, allowing the strange energy to penetrate her brow.

As the energy entered her body, Laplace’s eyelids became heavy, and her vision gradually turned dark.

This feeling, Laplace was not unfamiliar with, it is the sweet dark moments before sleeping.

In the past, such slumber really meant entering a state of rest... Would Angel bring new circumstances this time?

With this thought, Laplace’s body grew heavier, her soul entered a state of tranquility, only her consciousness gradually awakening from the darkness.

When Laplace’s consciousness returned, she found herself on a long Dream Bridge.

Laplace glanced back, and behind her was blackness.

Yet she faintly sensed a trace of Mirror Domain’s aura. Following the trail, her vision gradually became transparent, a door opened before her eyes.

Through this door, she saw herself sleeping on a branch, also seeing Angel sleeping not far away and Dangross restlessly moving on Angel’s shoulder...

Laplace reached out, attempting to touch the door.

At the instant of contact.

Laplace suddenly felt a sense of detachment. This feeling wasn’t unfamiliar to her, whenever she was about to awaken from sleep, it surfaces.

"So, does this door actually lead back to reality?" Laplace mused inwardly.

Retracting her hand, the feeling of detachment immediately disappeared.

Since she had come, naturally she couldn’t awaken now.

Furthermore, having found the door to return, there’s no worry about being trapped in the dream.

Thinking of this, Laplace took another glance at the door of return, then turned her head, walking deeper into the Dream Bridge.

Walking about ten steps, surroundings again turned dark, either side endless void, only path beneath firm and leading to unknown.

Laplace paused to observe the void around, attempting to position within the void.

However, she could sense her internal energy, but unable to mobilize it, as though here, her internal energy fell asleep too, preventing her from establishing a void path mark.

As Laplace contemplated her situation, a familiar voice echoed in her ear.

"Continue forward, you will see a gate, enter the gate, and there lies the soil of dreams."

"I’ll be there waiting for your arrival."

"Also...please hurry. I fear, delays might bring changes."

This clear, pristine voice belongs to Angel. Laplace originally wanted to continue examining her environment and condition, but Angel’s words forced her to abandon her study, hastening her steps forward.

After walking a few steps, she saw the gate Angel mentioned.

It radiated dazzling rainbows, the closer she got, the more she felt the allure of the surrounding colors.

Especially when she walked from pure darkness towards the gate, there was a sense of returning to reality from the void.

The gate was ajar, Laplace slowly approached, wanting to peek through the opening.

But before she could see anything, she was irresistibly pulled into the gate by an overwhelming force.

After entering the gate, the previous pulling force immediately vanished, but she still couldn’t control her body and didn’t know the surrounding environment. She could only vaguely feel herself falling from a high altitude to the ground.

The sensation of weightlessness lasted about four to five seconds. When Lady Laplace finally touched solid ground again, her vision returned.

It was still pitch black all around, and nothing could be seen.

However, Lady Laplace could already feel her body, the sky above, and the earth beneath her feet, completely opposite from the situation before on the Dream Bridge where she was entirely unanchored.

It was as if she had truly arrived in a new world.

Lady Laplace supported herself on the ground, attempting to stand up. But as soon as her hand touched the surface, she immediately sensed something strange.

The ground here... didn’t feel like soil but rather like a smooth ice surface? Yet it lacked the coldness of ice.

Where exactly is this place, really the Dream Realm?

In a dream, can sensations be this real?

As Lady Laplace was mired in doubt, the sound of footsteps suddenly reached her ears.

Lady Laplace lifted her head, looking towards the source of the footsteps, and after a while, the footsteps halted nearby.

"Need some help?" A familiar male voice spoke from nearby.

Right after speaking, he seemed to remember something: "Ah, I forgot there’s no sun here. So... how about this? Can you see now?"

Not long after he finished speaking, a light suddenly flared up.

With the emergence of light, Lady Laplace saw Angel standing about a meter away.

Angel, backlit by the glow, slightly bent his body toward her and extended a hand.

Lady Laplace understood Angel’s intention, but she didn’t accept his aid, gently saying, "Thank you, but it’s not necessary."

After speaking, Lady Laplace lightly pressed down with her hand and easily stood up from the ground.

Just as she stood up, Lady Laplace felt a slip beneath her feet.

By the light, Lady Laplace looked down and saw that the ground was actually made of smooth crystal stone.

The crystal stone was polished even smoother than ice, so even standing up, any slight shift in weight could cause her feet to slip.

Meanwhile, Angel noticed Lady Laplace’s slip and instinctively wanted to help her. However, before he could extend his hand, Angel witnessed a peculiar scene.

Lady Laplace’s silver hair moved without wind, and a small lock transformed into a hand, supporting her slipping feet; another lock spiraled on the ground, forming a solid anchor.

That wasn’t all. Once Lady Laplace regained her balance, she let a part of her trailing hair spread beneath her feet, reinforcing it with a layer like a non-slip mat.

Having done all this, Lady Laplace could walk steadily on the crystal ground.

"Hair can be used like this?" Angel touched his hair, wondering why his hair wasn’t under his control.

Flashback to a short time ago when Angel had just arrived here, not realizing the ground was made of crystal stone and slipped face-first.

If no one else had seen that, Angel guessed he’d dig a deep hole to hide out of embarrassment.

Precisely due to this experience, after Lady Laplace entered, Angel immediately came over to prevent this figure of authority from slipping and losing face here.

Yet, figures of authority are indeed remarkable; even without assistance, and without energy inside, they can stand and walk steadily.

Although Angel now appears to walk and move normally, it’s only because he’s using the Heavenly Phenomenon Replacement Power to manipulate some of the wind and barely maintain his balance.

Even though the Heavenly Phenomenon Replacement Power can be used in this newly born "Wilderness of Dreams," it’s not as easy as in the "Gate of Dreams" or with the "Gatekeeper." Even if Angel can use it, he can only control a small amount of the surrounding elements.

For instance, he can only use the Wind’s Force on himself.

Since he conjured light, Angel’s Heavenly Phenomenon Replacement Power is already stretched to its limit.

Summoning the wind and the rain further would be almost impossible.

Angel speculated that it might be because this Nightmare Realm had just been formed. Even if the Heavenly Phenomenon Replacement Power could be used, a comprehensive celestial system hadn’t yet developed here.

Just like the Wilderness of Dreams back then, even when the Heavenly Phenomenon Replacement Power merged with the world itself, it required time to adapt to the Law and establish a corresponding operational logic.

This place is a newly born world without complete laws, so the Heavenly Phenomenon Replacement Power can’t function smoothly.

Looking at Lady Laplace using her hair to make a non-slip mat, Angel’s eyes filled with envy.

He had to maintain the light and his balance now, with no extra energy left for other things. In essence, he was no different from an ordinary person now.

But ordinary people... can’t control their hair!

Lady Laplace’s long hair could be controlled as if it were an extension of her body; that’s practically cheating, isn’t it?

With Angel looking on enviously, Lady Laplace asked, "Where is this? Are you sure this is a dream?"

Angel: "There are some Dream Realm rules here, but it’s also a bit different. As for where this is, it’s a crevice between the Dream Realm and the Mirror World."

"A crevice between the Dream Realm and the Mirror World? What do you mean?"

Angel: "It’s as I said. It’s a space created with special power, which can be either temporary or long-term."

"How long it will last depends on whether any changes occur next."

Pausing for a moment, Angel continued, "Even though this place may not last for long, I still gave it a name."

"Crystal Origin of Dreams."

Lady Laplace frowned, not caring much for the uninspired name, but more concerned about Angel’s ambiguous words.

"Changes?" Lady Laplace: "I remember you said I should hurry here, otherwise there’d be changes if late."

Angel nodded: "I did say that."

Lady Laplace: "What exactly do you mean by changes?"

Angel shook his head: "I don’t know for now, maybe a huge beast like a continent will tear the sky apart with one strike, shredding this newly born crevice into fragments. Or perhaps, a giant eye will appear in the sky, watching this sealed Miniature Garden with hostility."

"Or, if we’re lucky, no changes at all."

Angel: "What’s going on, we’ll have to wait and see. During this still somewhat calm period, I’ll first take you to retrieve your ’weapon.’"

With that, Angel gestured for Lady Laplace to follow him.

Lady Laplace remained puzzled, "Weapon? What weapon?"

"It’s what I just asked you to prepare, your Molted Scales." Angel turned, giving her a slight smile: "Don’t worry, though I came in a bit earlier than you, I didn’t touch your weapon as promised."

"Molted Scales... Why are they here?"

"This uh... I’ll explain when there’s time later. Things are urgent now, so let’s leave it for now." As they walked, Angel said, "Oh, if a change really occurs, we’ll have to rely on your weapon."

"If it can eliminate coming Eliminators, we have a bright future."

"If not, then don’t push it, I’ll take you back to the Mirror Domain."
