Chapter 2304 - 2305: Iridescent Flow

Chapter 2304: Chapter 2305: Iridescent Flow

"Membrane of Rhythm."

When the blurry speck of light on the Ability Tree finally solidified, Angel immediately explored it with his thoughts.

As a flood of information surged, the veil of the new authority gradually lifted.

Initially, Angel was puzzled as to why it was called "Membrane of Rhythm," until more information came pouring in...

Under the wash of varied new information, Angel could clearly feel his brain’s load increasing, tolerable for now, but continuing at this rate would soon fill him with indigestible information like Sumishe before him.

Angel simply relied on the tree’s ability to block out this information.

This information would remain stored within the light spot and could be read later if truly necessary.

Once the information was blocked, Angel’s thoughts became much lighter, his heavy consciousness turned buoyant, and as this buoyancy grew more apparent, his consciousness itself began to rise.

He passed through the Mist of the wilderness, through layers of floating clouds, through the deep blue Sky Dome, until his consciousness shattered the boundaries of the Wilderness of Dreams, emerging outside the sky.

At this moment, he seemed to adopt a macro God’s View, standing in the pitch-black Void, observing the softly glowing Dream Domain—the Wilderness of Dreams.

In this view, the Wilderness of Dreams appeared as small as a Miniature Garden.

Within, no civilization, creatures, or buildings could be seen, the only noticeable presence was the massive ancient tree piercing through the sky and embedding into the earth’s veins.

That was the Civilization’s Mother Tree.

The Mother Tree’s consciousness was asleep; indeed, Angel was now truly controlling the Mother Tree. Angel seemed to transform into two consciousnesses, one overlooking from above the Sky Dome, the other silently gazing upward from the earth.

This feeling was subtle, explicitly divided, yet Angel felt no sense of being split.

It was as if his consciousness truly reached everywhere, with the consciousness in the sky and the consciousness within the Mother Tree simply two small projections within the vast consciousness, hardly mattering.

While Angel was immersed in this bizarre sensation, the Dream Domain representing the Wilderness of Dreams began to undergo distinct changes.

The Dream Domain’s exterior started flickering with a colorful light flow.

Once the colorful light flow appeared, it swiftly enveloped the Wilderness of Dreams like flowing water.

The original exterior of the Dream Domain was a non-material conceptual boundary, whereas now outside this layer lay an energy light membrane akin to a rainbow.

From Angel’s perspective, gazing down from the height, the Wilderness of Dreams turned even more enchanting.

Initially, Angel didn’t know what this colorful light flow was, but as he pondered the essence of the "colorful light flow,"

where there is thought, there is gain.

In the blocked stream of information, one piece was unsealed, directly flooding into his mind.

"Rainbow Light nurturing dream realm life?" From the information, Angel perceived the essence of the light flow, exceedingly complex and filled with concepts difficult to articulate, challenging to translate its name into a universal language. The only known fact was its existence, the foundation of the "Membrane of Rhythm."

Angel controlled his consciousness, slowly descending from the heights to closely observe this layer of rainbow-hued membrane.

The closer he got, the more beautiful and dreamlike Angel found it.

Moreover, there was a faint sense of familiarity.

Angel continued closer, attempting to directly touch this rainbow-colored membrane, yet his consciousness couldn’t reach it; as his consciousness descended, it was pulled irresistibly into the Wilderness of Dreams’ interior.

Consciousness spun, falling from the heights.

Ultimately, Angel’s vision turned dark, returning once again to the Mind Space, standing before the towering Ability Tree.

He quietly gazed at the newly appeared speck of light.

Although the previous brief journey hadn’t offered deeper information, he had essentially understood the effect and operating mode of this "Membrane of Rhythm" from the surface-level information.

"The rhythm, the rhythm of life’s birth?" Angel softly questioned, then exited the Mind Space.

Thought moves incredibly fast; even though Angel had toured the Mind Space and immersed himself in the new authority for quite some time, only a few seconds had passed in the external world.

Sumishe hadn’t awakened yet, lying peacefully on the ground, sweat still slightly glistening on his forehead but not newly forming, and his rough breath had become calm.

Sanders and Rhein exchanged whispers beside Sumishe.

"How is his condition now, did he succeed?" Rhein inquired.

Sanders nodded: "It seems he has completed carrying. But, I feel something is strange..."

"Strange?" Rhein queried puzzledly, "Could it be due to the use of the Abyss of Magic’s Nightmare Realm causing a mistake?"

"I don’t know." Sanders couldn’t pinpoint what was strange. He looked up toward the mist above: "In the past, once authority was successfully carried, the Wilderness of Dreams would show some feedback, but now there seems to be no movement at all."

Though Sanders’ vision couldn’t penetrate the mist, his authority allowed him to sense the energy flow of the Wilderness of Dreams.

Just as Nami Midori entered the Wilderness of Dreams, constructing its body to absorb vast energy, Sanders, even in reality, could feel the energy being off.

But what puzzled him was, Sumishe seemed to have succeeded, yet so far, he hadn’t discerned any anomalies in the energy.

Rhein: "The feedback from Wilderness of Dreams, you mean an anomaly?"

Sanders nodded: "You could say that."

Rhein had never truly undergone the process of a celestial authority falling onto a person, thus found it hard to imagine the changes, only guessing: "Could it be that the authority Sumishe inherited is inherently obscure?"

Sanders didn’t know either, as Sumishe had not awoken yet, the specific circumstances remained unclear.

But just then, Angel’s voice came over: "It’s not that there are no anomalies; the anomaly has appeared; it’s just in a place we can’t see."

Sanders and Rhein both looked toward Angel.

Angel: "The authority Sumishe carried is named Membrane of Rhythm. The so-called membrane can be understood as the barrier of the domain; therefore, the anomaly itself hasn’t occurred within the Wilderness of Dreams but outside it."

Angel explained while manipulating the authority of Celestial Alternation to create a Mirage scene.

The Illusion Technique displayed the scene Angel had earlier seen, the rainbow-flowing light gradually enveloping the Wilderness of Dreams...

After observing the entire illusion, Sanders understood why there was no internal anomaly feedback.

Watching the illusion, Sanders curiously asked: "This colorful light flow outside, is this what’s referred to as the Membrane of Rhythm?"

Angel thought for a moment, then replied: "You can interpret it that way."

"I only dabbled with the help of the Ability Tree, and didn’t gain much information. From the current information, all Dream Realm life will eventually be born through this membrane."

"These flowing lights are actually the birth pool of life."

Sanders looked at the flowing rainbow light in the illusion in mid-air, nodding thoughtfully.

In the ensuing time, Sanders focused all his attention on the flowing lights. His gaze, initially curious, gradually turned more puzzled.

Suddenly, Sanders closed his eyes.

Angel could clearly see Sanders’ eyelids trembling slightly, as if pondering something.

After a while, Sanders opened his eyes, still showing a hint of confusion: "I keep feeling that these colorful flowing lights look familiar. But I searched through my past memories and I’m sure I’ve never seen anything like them."

Angel’s eyes lit up: "Does the mentor also feel familiar? The first time I saw them, I also felt they were familiar. But I just can’t remember where I saw them."

Sanders: "Then it seems it’s not my illusion."

At this moment, Reine, who had been observing the illusion silently, suddenly spoke: "These colorful flowing lights should originate from the Dream Realm."

Sanders: "Lord Reine knows?"

Reine neither nodded nor shook his head: "I once read some research topics of Dream Sorcerers. In their studies on Dream Realm life, they often use ’hazy’ and ’iridescent’ to describe the birth of Dream Realm life."

"The birth of Dream Realm life? Have those Dream Sorcerers witnessed the birth of Dream Realm life?" asked Angel, surprised.

Reine: "The Dream Realm life’s birth I mentioned is not what you think."

With Reine’s explanation, Angel finally understood that Reine was not referring to the Dream Realm’s indigenous life, but the human-made Dream Realm life.

In layman’s terms, it’s like when you dream of many life forms in your dreams, that’s the Dream Realm life.

Normal people just dream and forget it, but Dream Sorcerers can create Dream Realm life that serves them using dream energy within the Dream Realm. - As the saying goes, you can have anything in a dream, even life you can create.

However, this kind of Dream Realm life generally cannot interfere with the Material Realm, and when a Dream Sorcerer leaves the Dream Realm, they can’t control Dream Realm life anymore. Once they re-enter the Dream Realm, these Dream Realm lives are gone. Perhaps they’ve vanished, or maybe they’ve drifted elsewhere, as the Dream Realm is vast and impossible to search.

"Because the topics discussed by Dream Sorcerers are often very idealistic and conceptual, especially when talking about the Dream Realm, it’s filled with such situations, making many non-Dream Sorcerers feel like they’re in the clouds. Even if you have read their topics, sometimes you don’t understand what they’re saying."

"I didn’t understand before why Dream Sorcerers would use iridescence to describe the birth of Dream Realm life. But now, seeing this iridescent flowing light, I feel there may be a connection."

Reine continued: "The reason we find the iridescent flowing light familiar is probably related to this."

After all, the vast majority of people have dreamt. As long as you saw life in dreams, even if you didn’t see how it was born, there would vaguely be some associated information sinking into your mind.

Because it belongs to a conceptual type of associated information, the memory itself doesn’t record it. Trying to find it by scouring through memories themselves is impossible.

Only by triggering new associative information will it emerge from the depths of the mind.

And this iridescent flowing light is clearly the new associative information.

"Did Dream Sorcerers define this iridescence?" Angel asked.

Reine shook his head: "At least several hundred years ago, there was no definition; they also didn’t know what iridescence meant. In the last few hundred years, I haven’t paid much attention to Dream Sorcerers’ topics; you could ask Frode, he might know the answer."

Angel nodded.

Since there was nothing else for now, and Sumishe had not awakened, Angel simply used God’s View to transmit some information to Frode.

Frode was in the Sky Tower at that moment; after receiving Angel’s message, he logged off immediately.

When he logged into the Wilderness of Dreams again, the location had been adjusted by Angel to this Mist area.

Frode greeted everyone with a respectful bow.

Angel took Frode aside, explained the current situation briefly, and then replayed the illusion.

After watching it, Frode’s expression changed from surprise, to realization, then to deep thought.

It took quite a while before he snapped out of it, and his eyes carried a touch of emotion.

"What are you thinking of?" Angel asked curiously.

Frode: "In the circle of Dream Sorcerers, there are always many sayings about the birth of Dream Realm life, including the dream of the strong giving rise to Dream Realm life, Dream Realm life being an imprint of the consciousness and spirit of living beings, Dream Realm life being a projection...etc., with various schools having their own support."

"Among these, many theories mention that the indigenous life of the Dream Realm might be born in a ’sea of dreams.’ In this sea of dreams flows the leftover information fragments of all dreamers. When these information fragments come together, Dream Realm life emerges. And the sea of dreams is a sea of rainbows, flowing with rainbow lights."

Angel: "Are you saying, this iridescent flowing light, belongs to the sea of dreams?"

Frode: "I can’t be certain either, moreover, the sea of dreams itself is a concept, but there is a semblance of similarity."

Then, Frode spoke about some situations of the sea of dreams, and the judgement of Dream Sorcerers regarding the rainbow lights.

However, as Reine mentioned earlier, what Dream Sorcerers pursue is too idealistic and conceptual. Even though Angel has some understanding of the dream system, he listened with confusion.

He ultimately decided to put it aside for now.

No matter what the nature of this iridescent flowing light is, it remains an unknown mystery. In the future, if more Dream Sorcerers join the Wilderness of Dreams, perhaps Frode can study it with them. Currently, what’s more important is to see how the "Membrane of Rhythm" represented by the iridescent flowing light will change the Wilderness of Dreams?

Meanwhile, Sumishe, lying on the ground, finally opened his eyes.

After getting up, Sumishe didn’t say anything, just nodded towards Angel in gratitude, then exited the Wilderness of Dreams first.

A few minutes later, Sumishe reentered.

"Is everything alright in reality?" Reine asked with concern.

Sumishe: "Thanks to Little Red activating the Abyss of Magic Nightmare Realm in time, everything is still fine for now."

After brief pleasantries, Sanders went straight to the point: "How is the effect of the Membrane of Rhythm?"

Sumishe was slightly taken aback: "How did the mentor know it was the Membrane of Rhythm?"

Sanders looked towards Angel.

Only then did Sumishe realize.

Since Angel had already discussed the general situation of the Membrane of Rhythm, Sumishe didn’t further explain and simply waved his hand grandly.

With the flicker of iridescent lights, a figure appeared out of thin air at his feet.
