Chapter 1580

Chapter 1580: Section 1581: 98% Compatibility

After the turmoil had subsided, the room was once again occupied by three individuals.

“What did you just discover?” Sanders, who had been sitting on the sofa the whole time, suddenly asked.

Frode was also curious as he looked towards Angel.

Before Labu left, Angel had abruptly stopped him, with a flicker of light in his eyes, hinting at some trickiness.

Angel smiled mysteriously: “I discovered some very interesting things.”

Angel's thoughts returned to a moment ago, as Labu pushed the door open, and in the dark world, a towering tree suddenly felt a breeze, causing a speck of light hanging from one of its branches to sway.

And this speck of light represented the Authority under the “pseudo” Law of All Things, which is the “Mist of Sin”.

“Interesting in what way?” Sanders raised an eyebrow, waiting for Angel's explanation.

However, Angel did not answer immediately but shifted the topic: “We'll discuss this matter later. Let's continue the topic we were discussing earlier, about the creatures of sin.”

At the mention of the creatures of sin, Frode immediately sat up straight with seriousness.

To everyone in Originheart City, the creatures of sin presented a significant threat. Earlier, Frode was thinking that since the black mist was more than a thousand miles away from Originheart City, and given its rate of spread, it might take hundreds of years to reach Originheart City, giving them ample time to deal with it.

But when he learned that the Mist of Sin was not fixed in location and could emerge anywhere at any time, his heart jumped to his throat in nervousness.

For Frode, Originheart City is as its name suggests, both his original aspiration and his promised land, and its importance goes without saying.

And for Angel, although not as deeply concerned as Frode, as long as Jon is in Originheart City, he felt compelled to ensure its safety.

Therefore, upon learning about the Mist of Sin, Angel also began to ponder immediately on how to combat the creatures of sin.

“The creatures of sin are harmless, perhaps even beneficial, to the Wilderness of Dreams, but they are a significant threat to us who live here. So, for whatever reason, we must come up with a solution quickly.”

Everyone looked towards Angel, waiting for his rationale.

“To permanently resolve this issue is not only impossible but also not permitted by the Wilderness of Dreams. Therefore, I thought about the problem from our perspective in order to find a solution.”

Since they couldn't address the source of the Mist of Sin, they had to come up with ways to ward off the creatures of sin it had created.

Angel himself could use the Ability Tree to control the creatures of sin, but this was not a lasting solution. In the future, if more people were to come into the Dream Realm and more cities were established, he couldn't possibly rush to the rescue every time someone was controlled by the creatures of sin.

Even a deity can't attend to all of its followers.

“Jon once taught me something, 'it's better to teach a starving man to fish than to give him a fish.' So, I believe the best solution is to let the residents of the Dream Realm solve the problem themselves.”

Solve the problem themselves? Frode's eyes flickered with confusion: “But the power system of the Wilderness of Dreams is not yet established, how can we solve it?”

“It's not about us, it's about the newcomers to the Wilderness of Dreams,” said Angel: “Moreover, this has nothing to do with the construction of the power system. Even if in the future we can carry our real-world strength over, that would be a blessing for Transcendents, not for the residents of the Dream Realm. Unless, in the future, they only think about relying on outsiders.”

Frode understood what Angel meant; placing bets on others was certainly not as good as having power oneself.

However, the residents of the Dream Realm were all Mortals, and even with strong individuals like Sir Sabel, they were in the minority. Moreover, Frode didn't believe that even someone as formidable as Sir Sabel could prevail against the bizarre creatures of sin.

Frode's uncertainty was soon addressed by Angel.

“Use the power of the creatures of sin to contain the creatures of sin,” Angel revealed his method.

This statement from Angel sparked curiosity even in Sanders, who had been an outsider to the conversation.

Angel did not play coy and detailed how to suppress the creatures of sin.

After listening to Angel, Frode was still in a daze, but Sanders quickly grasped the idea, pondering for a moment before saying: “Your method is somewhat similar to the Demon People of the Panic Realm.”

The Panic Realm is mentioned in some of the larger Witcher Organizations, but practically no one has been there. The reason is that this world is just too far away from the Southern Domain, and according to records, the energy level of this world is not much different from that of Wizards' Realm.

The Wizards' Realm referred to here is not just the Southern Domain, but also includes the other three basic domains, as well as the Origin World.

The fact that the Panic Realm's energy level could be comparable to that of Wizards' Realm is indicative of its power.

Moreover, given the immense danger of the Panic Realm and that so far, no benefits have been discovered that would justify the Witcher Realm's full commitment to acquire them, witches naturally do not risk their lives to explore this terrifying world.

The “Demon People” Sanders mentioned were originally just ordinary people of the Panic Realm. The Panic Realm is too perilous, with Magical Creatures rampant and countless oddities beyond the towns; ordinary humans, to survive, have researched a method.

That is, sealing the Magical Creature within oneself. Using the power of the Magical Creature to carve out a path of survival in a world teetering on the brink of danger.

The individuals who accept the sealing of Magical Creatures are called Demon People. They are both the guardians of towns and yet despised by everyone.

Because once the power of the Demon People is used beyond its limits, they undergo complete “Awakening,” their demonic nature replacing their humanity, transforming them into slaughterers of ordinary people.

However, without the protection of the Demon People, the towns cannot find peace.

Thus, although the status of the Demon People is quite high, the fear that they may “Awaken” leads people to both love and detest them.

Sanders brought up the comparison with the Demon People, which was incredibly apt, and Frode immediately realized it.

Frode mused softly, “Could this indeed be possible? But according to the adult's method, there's still danger.”

“Every endeavor carries risk. If one were entirely at ease, humans would likely quickly lose their ambition.”

Frode nodded in agreement. He weighed the suggestion proposed by Angel in his mind and found it quite acceptable. Gaining power to solve the crises threatening them was undoubtedly a good solution.

The only regret was that only Angel could do the suppression of Sin spawns. Currently, there aren't many people in Originheart City, and Angel might have the time and energy to help with the suppression, but if in the future the Wilderness of Dreams has more cities and more people, it might not be possible to look after everyone.

While Frode was silently feeling regret, Angel suddenly said–

“As for suppressing the Sin spawns, it's not necessarily something I have to do.”

Frode abruptly raised his head to look at Angel, if this regret could be resolved, then this would truly become a relatively perfect and executable closed loop.

“Although I can't completely control the Authority of the Mist of Sin, I can grant the Authority to control Sin spawns to others through the Ability Tree.”

Frode's eyes lit up, if Authority could be granted, then granting it to a few more people could make the Sin spawns easy to handle.

However, just as Frode's beautiful dream began to bloom, it was punctured by Angel.

“But, I can grant them Authority, only if the other party has a corresponding compatibility with the Mist of Sin.” Angel paused, “If the compatibility doesn't meet the requirements, I can't grant the Authority.”

Frode also remembered when Angel fused with the “Gatekeeper,” Monroe had a compatible Authority with that of the “Gatekeeper.”

In the same vein, in order to control and suppress Sin spawns, one must find a person with high compatibility with the Mist of Sin to transfer the Authority. Finding such a person was not easy.

Thus, Frode's idea of restraining the Sin spawns by granting Authority to several individuals was currently unfeasible.

“Is there anyone now who has reached the required compatibility?” Frode asked, without much hope.

Angel: “There wasn't before, but now, one has appeared.”

Frode was initially bewildered, and then as if remembering something, he suddenly said, “Lord, the person you mentioned, couldn't be…”

Frode silently mouthed a name.

Labu?

Angel nodded without hesitation: “Exactly, it's him.”

Earlier, when Angel saw Labu, the light on the Ability Tree representing “Mist of Sin” flickered. Angel looked at it with curiosity. After analyzing the relevant information, he discovered it was a hint for granting Authority.

So, Angel tested to see Labu's compatibility.

Labu had a staggering 98% compatibility with the “Mist of Sin”!

According to the information obtained by Angel, as long as the compatibility was over 90%, Authority could be granted. Of course, the lower the compatibility, the lower the quality and quantity of the Authority obtained.

Labu's compatibility was at 98%, which virtually guaranteed that, should Authority be granted to him, it would surely be enough to suppress the Sin spawns!

While Frode had thought the matter hopeless, the emergence of Labu filled this missing link, and he was very excited.

Angel then said, “However, granting Authority is a very important matter and should at least consider whether he's suitable or not.”

Frode nodded, “I understand.” Although he was well-acquainted with Labu, granting Authority wasn't something that one could just give based on familiarity; one also had to see if one was fit for it.

It was not only about character but also whether one had the willingness to take on the responsibility, and whether one possessed the willpower and execution ability to match the position.

Frode: “I will seriously look into Labu.”
