Chapter 1545

Chapter 1545: Section 1546 The Truth About Gust Town Chapter 1545: Section 1546 The Truth About Gust Town Although there is no concrete evidence to prove that the “Reincarnation Casket” refined by Ivor is the same Mysterious Object as the “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead” mentioned by Frost, there are indeed some similarities between the two.

The most obvious similarity lies in their names. Both being Mysterious Objects, yet possessing similar names, which should be quite uncommon.

However, a similarity in names could also be a coincidence, after all, it is noted that Ivor's “Reincarnation Casket” is tentatively named.

Apart from the name, the second point of resemblance is that there may not be many Mysterious Objects with similar names, but those that are out of control are even rarer.

Originally, the reason Frost mentioned the “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead” was to explain to Angel what “losing control” meant using this Mysterious Object. The signs of the collapse of rules when Nail Granny spoke of the “Reincarnation Casket” essentially confirmed that it too was in a state of losing control.

Losing control is extremely rare among Mysterious Objects. According to Nail Granny, the Reincarnation Casket was initially refined in a small world near the Southern Domain; Frost also mentioned that the Reincarnation Casket of the Undead was found in a world near the Southern Domain as well, both happen to be around the Southern Domain, which also says something.

Perhaps, this evidence could still be a coincidence. But if we reason backwards based on the outcome, it becomes intriguing since more similarities will emerge.

Assuming that the two are indeed the same Mysterious Object, and Alex indeed has a connection with Ivor, maybe they are even the same person.

Then, many things could be explained.

For example, Frost once said that the Reincarnation Casket is actually composed of individual Hourspaces, each one a scene, each scene a cycle of rebirth, and the outsiders participating are the so-called Reincarnators, who need to solve the puzzle of the current scene and kill the mastermind to break free from the current scene and enter the next cycle.

This is too similar to the situation in Gust Town, which is a scene set up as a cage, trapping outsiders–Alex. And to leave this cage, one must unravel the secrets within it: the serial murders.

In terms of background and purpose, these two are nearly identical.

Furthermore, the key point about Frost's “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead” is the prefix “Undead.” In Gust Town, where Alex was staying, undead also appeared, and their goal was to kill the outsider. However, Alex was lucky; initially, Father Bertrand shielded him from Nun Tessa's sight.

Therefore, Angel has reason to suspect that Gust Town is actually a reincarnation scene inside the Reincarnation Casket.

Father Bertrand also once said, “Beyond the cage, lies a bigger cage, one after another, these are layers of escalating fear, and aside from the supreme Father God, no one can break free of it.”

This actually aligns with the mechanism of the “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead,” where Frost experienced cycle after cycle of reincarnation, struggling through different scenes, from the Monastery of Terror to the Orphanage of Sorrowful Spirits, Ghost Town, Twilight Demon Temple, and finally escaped after twenty cycles.

Which also fits with what Bertrand said about “one after another, the progressive fear of the cages.”

And Bertrand, being one of the guardians arranged by the creator of the cage in Gust Town, his words carry credibility.

From the standpoint of deduction, many things can be explained, and with so many similarities, Angel has reason to believe that the “Reincarnation Casket” and Frost's “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead” are the same Mysterious Object.

As for the relationship between Alex and Ivor.

Angel cannot judge for himself, but he believes Nail Granny's words, too many coincidences might be inevitable.

Moreover, during Angel's time in Gust Town, the main reason he stayed close to Alex was that Alex as a whole, from his aura, personality, to behavior, was too different from those around him.

He is cold and detached but does not forget favors. He seems disinterested in everything, but it's because others are focused on the sixpence on the ground, he is looking up at the bright moon in the sky.

His logic of thinking is like a Wizard steeped in the Extraordinary World for many years, vastly different from ordinary people, yet he is just an ordinary man.

Angel has always had doubts about Alex's identity until Nail Granny told her story.

Angel almost immediately believed it.

Putting aside whether Alex is Ivor or not, Angel has always felt in his heart that Alex is certainly no ordinary person. Hence, he believes Nail Granny's judgment.

And precisely because of Granny's judgment, Angel linked all the stories together and inferred a truth he believes to be relatively credible–

Because Frost said that the “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead” has its own unique rules, and upon entering, besides retaining a portion of physical strength, one would lose all other powers.

After Ivor fell into the Reincarnation Casket, perhaps he encountered some mishap, lost a part of his memory, and with the Wizard's powers forcibly cloaked, he became Alex.

Assuming the identity of Alex, he kept experiencing cycles of reincarnation in the Reincarnation Casket until now.

This is the truth that Angel deduced.

There are parts that go unexplained, such as how the Reincarnation Casket would shield powers but Angel could still use Illusion Technique inside, which is strange. However, this could also be attributed to the energy level of The Gate of Void being so high that it overrides the rules of the Reincarnation Casket; or perhaps he himself never truly entered the Reincarnation Casket, just a Phantom Body spiritually traversing the Sky, with the “physical” strength of the Phantom Body being the Illusion Technique, so using his own strength seems to also comply with the rules.

After speculating this so-called truth, Angel was actually quite astonished.

The reason he had been pursuing the traces of Gust Town was not only to see if Alex had eradicated the Nun, but he also wanted to confirm the capabilities of The Gate of Void.

He had always thought that the Cage of Shadows was somewhere in the Southern Domain, for he hadn't traveled long in the passageway of The Gate of Void.

But according to the current deduction, it's absolutely impossible for the Cage of Shadows to be in the Southern Domain. If the “Reincarnation Casket” is indeed the “Reincarnation Casket of the Undead”, as mentioned by Frost, it could be somewhere near the Southern Domain.

He traveled through The Gate of Void for such a short time and traversed countless worlds to arrive in the Reincarnation Casket?

So, if he hadn't gotten off halfway last time, where would the passage inside The Gate of Void eventually lead to? Could it be the very end of everything, or even outside of dimensions?

Regardless of where that passage leads, what can be assured is that the space-time travel ability of The Gate of Void is probably the strongest known at present.

Unfortunately, the waiting time for its restoration is too long, and one can only pass through not with their physical body, but with an Illusion Technique manifestation.

And getting off “halfway” through the journey, it's also unknown where one would end up.

Like last time, jumping off in ignorance, and ending up in Gust Town.

While Angel was internally summarizing his gains and reassessing The Gate of Void, Nail Granny, who had been waiting for Angel to conclude, finally couldn't help being the first to speak up.

“Can I speak now?”

The story within the Cage of Shadows, how did you come to know of it? Why are you so sure that this story is true? And… where is Alex now?

Before this moment, Angel might not have known how to answer because, indeed, he didn't know.

Now that he has deduced a rough idea, he could respond, but many things cannot be explicitly stated, as it involves the special abilities of The Gate of Void.

Angel thought about it and finally spoke ponderously, “Actually, this matter has to start with the incident at Black Castle.”

Listening intently, Nail Granny heard Angel recount the ordeal at Black Castle, how he came to possess the Samsara Overture, and helped the people of Black Castle eradicate the undead, during which he encountered a Special Undead.

At this point, Nail Granny actually hasn't grasped the main theme; she didn't understand why Angel was telling her these things, but she couldn't interrupt him, only patiently continuing to listen.

“…A person wearing an ancient bronze mask appeared in the sky above Black Castle.” Angel finally mentioned Frost, and then he vaguely described this Wizard who was presumed to be “beyond Legend”.

“I am very interested in Mysterious Objects, and since I had previously encountered the Domain of Spirit up close, His Excellency Frost eventually shared with me some information about Mysterious Objects.”

Angel explained one by one about control, semi-loss of control, and total loss of control.

After listening, Nail Granny nodded and said, “Indeed, I've heard someone describing these three classifications of stability regarding Mysterious Objects. The Reincarnation Casket that Ivor refined, it's very likely to be… out of control.”

“His Excellency Frost explained to me about being out of control, and he gave an example for it,” Angel deliberately paused for emphasis before continuing, “His example was a Mysterious Object called the 'Reincarnation Casket of the Undead'.”

As soon as the words fell, Nail Granny's pupils contracted, and her expression froze abruptly.

After a long while, Nail Granny trembled, “This, this… what is the relation between this 'Reincarnation Casket of the Undead' and the 'Reincarnation Casket'?”

Angel shrugged, “I can't provide an exact answer, but personally, I believe it's the same Mysterious Object. As I continue, Granny may judge for herself.”

Angel recounted all of the details about the 'Reincarnation Casket of the Undead'.

He explained each of the samsaric scenes and what these time-space existences meant, as well as how to decipher them to escape from the temporal dimension, and proceed to the next samsara.

“His Excellency Frost went through many scenes, the Terror Monastery, Orphanage of Wraiths, Gust Town, Ghost Cities…”

At this point, Angel finally mentioned Gust Town, which was the very Cage of Shadows.

Whether Frost had experienced Gust Town or not, Angel didn't know, but it was highly unlikely.

He couldn't possibly say that he entered Gust Town through The Gate of Void; this would expose his secret and could even implicate the Eye of the Sky and Mentor Jon.

He also didn't dare to lie outright, because with Nail Granny's abilities, she might very well notice, which is why he mentioned Gust Town indirectly and let Nail Granny make her own connections:

–The story of the Cage of Shadows, those scenes played out in Gust Town, might have been told to Angel by His Excellency Frost.

If Nail Granny insisted on questioning further, he could simply smile without answering, after all, it concerned a “beyond Legend” Wizard.

As expected, after Angel spoke, Nail Granny filled in the missing parts of the story herself.

“This also makes sense of why Angel knows about this story,” Nail Granny mused in her heart, and since it related to Frost, she did not press further, but she was convinced in her mind that this was told to Angel by Frost.
